High quality, semi-simple swap out for OEM Kohler drains that were 23 years old
I bought two of these drains for the double sinks in my master bath. The first one went in within 25 minutes and the second one took me over an hour. Not the fault of this drain, the old drain in sink two simply would not come apart. The new drains are very nice quality, heavy duty and look great when installed. They are "thin rim" drains with far less exposed metal and easier to keep clean. The actual drain insert has a double adjustment for engaging the lifting rod and adjusting the closure. Be sure to take note of that when installing the actual drain. All the connecting parts are stainless steel and easy to install but I was replacing OEM Kohler drains in Kohler sinks and your experience may vary. One small issue I had with one drain was that the nylon ball on the drain lifting mechanism was set too far back on the lifting rod and it would not fit in the drain. I had to use a small hammer and vise to carefully knock the nylon ball back onto the rod about 1.5 inches for it to fit. This may be a function of the second drain coming from Amazon Warehouse and it may have gotten knocked around, hence the product placement in Amazon Warehouse. It took me an extra 5 minutes for this correction. Overall, I was impressed with the heft and solid build quality of these drains even if they are made in China. I would buy them again.

Buy it for your sink and I promise you won't regret it!
The tail piece that came w/ our Kohler faucet was plastic and the weak threads stripped after looking at them sideways. So I found the Kohler K-1035350-BN (BN = Brushed Nickel) as a suitable replacement and ordered it on Amazon for $46.94 w/ Prime shipping. The drain arrived in two days as promised. It's hard to compare a cheap plastic drain that I can break in my hands to this metallic work of art, so I won't even try. Just know this; the plastic drains are band aids that, most likely, WILL fail at some point in the future and the K-1035350 will be there when your great-grandchildren are tearing your house apart, long after your dead, of course, looking for hidden family treasures. It's built to last and look beautiful. As for the quality of the machining and the rubber seal, they're top-notch. The threading is smooth and consistent on all of the threaded pieces (don't forget to use teflon tape on the threads), the rubber seal is very dense, not cheap and the stopper and stopper mechanism/parts are what you'd expect of a premium assembly, which this is. Buy it for your sink and I promise you won't regret it!

Our sink had been ruined by years of hard, well water so my husband used some sort of product to refinish the porcelain, and then I bought this new fixture because the drain plug was corroded. I replaced our old drain fixture with this new one and it is perfect. Great Koehler quality and the brushed nickel matched perfectly. We waited to receive the first replacement drain plug before ordering more. Once this one came, I ordered 2 more. Great price, and high quality. Saved me running all over town looking for a Koehler dealer.

It's built like the old days
Sure it's twice what you pay for a cheap one but it's three times the quality. Typical Kohler, fit and finish are top shelf. All metal except for the ball/seat to operate the stopper (where plastic is superior) and the internal shaft which moves the stopper. Only complaint is that the internal shaft that operates the stopper (looks to be nylon) needs to be about 1/2" longer as when adjusted there were only a few threads in the stopper. If you like to do things properly so they look nice and last this is the piece for you.

High Quality Sink Drain - Short Chrome Extension
This is a really high quality drain assembly for a bathroom sink. My only reason for not giving this five stars is that the chrome extension on the bottom was about 1-1/2 inches too short to fit my particular sink plumbing. Fortunately, I the original extension pipe was still serviceable and I was able to reuse it. Otherwise, this is a high quality product, though it is a bit pricey. It was fairly easy to install, looks much better than the part it replaced, and the O-ring on the drain stopper seals much better than metal-to-metal stoppers. I am going to purchase another for the other bathroom.
