I have absolutely zero negative comments for this seat/lid. I have never had an issue with other Kohler products I've purchased. (So no big surprise). The material feels solid, and the lid closes smoothly. Lets talk about the quick removal hinges. THAT IS GENIUS!!! I haven't seen that before. Not having to reach under a dirty toilet to hold the bolts so you can get the seat off for cleaning? I LOVE THAT!!! Seriously. Just take my money! I don't think I can buy another seat without that feature. Highly recommended!!

Very good but not perfect

First the part that isn't perfect: the seat and lid are made of quite lightweight material. I don't think it would break or really affect the life of the toilet seat, but there's just something cheesy feeling about a light toilet seat. It's meaningless, but you wouldn't find a seat like this in a nice hotel or in the home of your wealthy friend. The rest is nearly perfect. Installation is easy and feels secure. The soft-close feature of the seat and lid work perfectly. It will be easy to clean. What more can I say about a toilet seat?

Superb in several ways....

I evaluate toilet seats on basically three criteria: ability to be cleaned, longevity of soft close hinges and ability to withstand stains. I see another reviewer dings this seat a bit for being lightweight. But a lightweight seat is often a huge plus for two reasons. First, the seat doesn't exert as much pressure on the soft-close hinge. Second, the plastic in a lightweight seat often is more resistant to stains than the finish on heavier wooden/composite seats. So here's my evaluation: 1) Ability to clean. This is a great seat. You can actually take the seat off without removing the bolted-on bottom hinge to clean around the hinge. This is a great design worth the price of the seat alone. 2) Longevity of hinge. I can't judge. The seat is new. Soft-close hinges tend to wear out after a couple years, but this being a Kohler and the seats not being heavy, I'm hoping for a good five-year usefulness from this. 3) Ability not to stain. Again, this is a judgment that can only be made over time. But from my estimation of the plastic the seat is made from, I think this seat is going to do well on this. So I like this seat and recommend it highly--with the caveat that time is really the measure of a toilet seat.

Unique attachment, very high quality

You will see the quality of this seat when you first open the box. It is heavier than my old one and the hinge mechanism works smoothly and quietly. The stronger material allows one to sit comfortably on the lid when it’s in the down position. When you push the lid or the seat down from vertical, they both drop about halfway, then catch and lower slowly, landing without any noise. It has other improvements over my old one as well. The hinge area where the seat and the lid pivot is covered and that makes it super easy to clean. The seat itself is a little narrower than my old one, but is more comfortable when in use. It is uniquely different in the way the seat attaches to the toilet than others I am familiar with. But that made it easier to install and it holds the seat more strongly than my old one did. I am impressed with how well built it appears and the apparent durability of the material. I found the new seat to be well worth it.

Kohler Plastic Toilet Seat

This toilet seat is easy to install and attaches sturdily to the toilet bowl. The mount and hinge are strong enough that the seat does not slide sideways when used. The lid has a quiet close feature that eliminates a bang if grip on the lid is lost when closing. No more banging toilet lids in the middle of the night from your kids. The seat is plastic and although it is sturdy I personally prefer a wood seat - it's probably just me. There is some give when you sit down on it. The price is fair - I'm happy.

Very nice soft-close toilet seat

Kohler 24294-0 Figure ReadyLatch Quiet-Close Round-Front Toilet seat, Elongated, White (White, Elongated) My husband saw this seat, and he wanted me to order it because of the way it fastens to the toilet. I did, and he installed it for me. He said it was easy to install and the way it fastens makes is really easy to put on and take off thus easy to clean. The soft-close is the part I absolutely love. This seat is lighter weight, but it seems very strong. Highly recommend.

Great quiet close design.

Mounts sturdy. Hinges are strong. The quiet and soft close design is great. The round seats are only for smaller round toilets. The elongated design is for bigger and longer toilets which is important to get right otherwise they will fit badly.
