9-Feet Worked Well
Great for fishing wires. I like that it stores in a compact tube and you can use just a couple feet if that's all that's required. Made in USA too.

This is the universal DIYer / homeowner's kit...
Needing to rewire the upstairs rooms from my low-clearance attic, I started out with fishing tape, then moved to Klein's #58312, the 12-foot 3-piece orange sticks available at Home Depot. That set was problematic: it's a low flex rod (6mm diameter) in three 4-foot sections, and it was tough making the bend up in the attic where the low-pitch roof gives me only two to three feet of head room. And it was tough pushing this rod through a not-quite-vertical access hole drilled in the fire block. I returned the low-flex set for the 6-foot, single piece, high-flex (4mm diameter) Klein #56019, also in-store at Home Depot. That one works OK for the tight edges where the roof slopes down to the exterior walls, but the 6-foot length is a too short for hitting low outlet boxes, and the high-flex makes it squirmy to push through insulation while stabbing at holes drilled through the fire blocking. This kit is the "just right" for this scenario. The 5mm diameter rods strike a good balance in stiffness, and push through slightly off-vertical holes without too much effort. The six 18-inch sections give me a little leeway in tight attic clearances, although I prefer start off with my sections pre-assembled since there's enough flex to make a bend conforming to my low roof. The 9-foot length is shorter than I'd prefer, but it's just enough to reach low outlet box location from up above -- I'm not in too much danger of loosing this down the wall. Having worked with both the dayglo orange and white glow-in-the-dark rods, I'll profess that I prefer the immediate visibility of the orange, since my work areas are well lit. This glow-in-the-dark color doesn't really jump out visually. The 18" sections mean the case of all six sections is super compact (compared to the 4-foot sections of the first kit I picked up), and included in the tube is a thread-on hook end. The hole in the bullet end is large enough to thread an insulated 12-gauge wire through, so there's no need to fool around with stripping wire, or using just exposed ground wire to pull. No signs of the fiberglass deteriorating, but these are barely broken in. All in all, two thumbs up!

The Right Tool for the Job
Working on fishing cabling (low voltage / Cat-6 in my case) though the walls of an older house you never know what you're going to find. My trusty old metal fish tape just couldn't get through a small hole in a cross piece of wood about midway down a wall, bending every time I tried to push through. Buying this rod set was the last option before potentially having to drill another hole in the cross piece which was not ideal. Enter the rod set. Because I needed to maneuver a bit but still have some pushing power, I went with mid-flex. The rod itself is high quality and easy to work with and screw together. One end has a hook on it, the other an eyelet - since I was going for a narrow hole, I used the eyelet side. Whereas I tried to fish the wire with my tape for a number of hours unsuccessfully previously; with this tool, I was able to do it in about 15 minutes. The rod has a tiny bit of flex, enough to negotiate one twist I needed, but then still has enough rigidity to push through the small whole easily. I then used the rod pieces for all the other fishes in my runs, leaving the old tape in the toolbox. Lesson learned, here as in other places, having the right tool matters!

Questionable Durability, Super Convenient
I work in a fast paced low voltage commercial market. I got these because they were short enough to always be in my bag. They are super useful. I was worried they'd be too short over all, but they are great for all kinds of drops and pokes - Yeah, they are not 27' long. The hook adds to its functionality. I lost the bullet tip almost right away. Which brings me to the bad news part of the story. The fittings suck. I read some of the complaints and I have used a lot, a lot of various sticks over the decades - I examined the fittings and assembled it with care. They 'seemed' ok. But they loosen constantly (I lost bullet tip in one easy drop). The rods and the threaded ends are separating! So far (a couple of months?) they are working but clearly they will not last. They have been used by a few different guys on my crew, so perhaps not always treated with love - But at this price???? From Klein at that... My company bought them for me, I don't think they will last. They are super useful. When they break I will buy it again (unless a competitor presents itself) so I will have 10 or 11 sections. 1/4" fish tape can do most of the drops these sticks will do and it has a similar ability to 'stand out' in free air (not much). A 1/4" x 25' fish tape is cheaper and will last longer - Might have been the better way to go. But these sticks are super useful for fishing down a wall and out an MPLS (mud ring). You can navigate the insulation pretty easily. We're using them more and more every day. The tube breaks, the glow feature doesn't seem to come into play too often.

Great kit for running network cable under the house.
The kit comes with six 1 1/2' sticks, a bull nose connector to attach the wire to, and a hook. I was able to drill holes through the floor, attach the wire to a pair of sticks on one end, put the female side of a pair of sticks through the hole on the other end, and still have a pair of sticks with a hook on it to reach over a heating duct to pull the stick within reach. When I got the wire to the 2nd set of sicks I unscrewed the bull nose and attached it to the other set of sicks. Saved me from having to crawl under the house an additional time. I could not have done the job without this set. It is sturdy and just flexible enough to get into tight spots. It is 9' which was long enough to push over things I could not crawl around.

Awesome well made product!
These are a life saver! Bought them to help with fishing wires through boats for hooking up electronics. These have enough bend in them to make those horrible hard to reach corners and keep going. They stay together really well. I'm a little paranoid about them coming apart so I always wrap a little duct tape on the connectors. I would recommend these to anyone who needs a more flexible rod for fishing wires.

Awesome tool - I like the shorter lengths as it makes it more flexible and more versatile - you don't have to make a big hole to get a longer rod in - just feed it in one stick at a time and add new stick as you go. Great quality as well.

Way to flimbsy. I thought the mid flex would be good compromise between two extremes but it just bends way to much and cant do to much at 15 feet.
