New Klein 18" and 16" canvas tool bags
Just got them today (3/20/20) This is a [picture] size comparison review comparing the 16"/18" canvas bags vs my 2 year old 12" canvas bag. I will end up only keeping the 16"; the 18" is just way to large for my needs. I did the picture review because their are hardly any pictures or videos showing just how big or small these are; especially in relation to one another. Hopefully this helps someone in making a purchase. 1) the 16" laying on top of the 18" bag. They look similar, but the picture is deceiving. 2) the height difference;s to the metal hinge. 12=7" tall 16=10" 18=13" Huge differences 3) you can the overall size difference when on the 12" bad vs the 16"/18" bags 4) the 18" bag literally swallows the 16" bag 5) comparing the 12" bag inside the 16"/18" bags 6) all the stuff that was in my 12" bag filled the 16" bag up about a 1/3 of the way. Once again, huge increase in size. 7) one of the straps (16" bag) I put "leather honey" to help loosen up and protect the leather straps/handle. I did the rest after the pictures. So... I decided to upgrade from my free 12" (free from the Klein tradesman program). Nothing is wrong with it, it’s just to small for the job site. I have a few longer items that just wouldn’t fit in it (my files are roughly 14" long), and it’s not that tall. I have conduit wrenches and other tools (tap) that have sharp ends, and after two years, no wear spots or beginning of such in the canvas or vinyl. The buckles are still doing great-they still shine as bright as the day I got it. Leather straps is slightly stretched but the handles seem the same, even though I have over loaded it since day one. The metal frame and hinges are still great-no bends or buckles. The vinyl bottom wrap and feet still look great as well. No tears, snags, scratches, etc. all seem just about perfect. I have tossed this bag fully loaded around in the floor/job cart and still doing great. While I’m not a fan of what Klein has become-they still make a awesome canvas bag. It should noted this is the #8 canvas- not the cheaper lighter canvas used in most of their zipper bags. Though they do make a line or two of the #8 canvas zipper bags. While I did initially want the 18" bag, it is just way to large. Big enough the the extra dollar in price wasn’t worth it. But I also have a couple dedicated tool bags (Veto open top and Klein pocketed lineman’s bucket) that store my most commonly used tools. So if one needed something for a catch all-the 18" would be great. I just like most of my commonly stuff to be organized. My starred reviews on durability and such is based on my 12" bag. These feel the same in quality though, I will update if anything changes. Any questions just.

Yes, perfect!
5102 18... Perfect for my needs! I don't have a static toolbox, I work out of a variety of tool bags. Each loaded with task specific tools. The task for this bag, was to keep all of my sockets, drivers, wrenches and assorted socket accessories ( extensions, adapters) in one place. It's now home for my 1/2 inch drive, 3/8 inch drive and my 1/4 inch drive sets. Metric and SAE...The same for each set of metric and SAE wrenches. Along with a bag of assorted socket accessories to fit each drive set. I'm very pleased with how everything fits, the bag has leftover room as well. The 18 inch is a perfect fit. Not too large and not too small.

Great bag
Sturdy bag to throw all my husbands power tools in. The buckle straps are a little tedious. 18” fits his drill, impact drill, bits case, hammer, and tool roll with room to spare.

When guys who work with tools everyday are drooling...
You know you've hit a home run. Great tool bag. Made in USA was my primary reason for choosing this bag, I am so glad I did. Great size for a do-anything, go-anywhere manual hand tool kit but don't expect to fit a drill, too-there are larger sizes for that. Sturdy and well made!

After years, it's nicely broken in
I've had this bag for years now and it's held up to many pounds of weight carried many a mile with some very sharp tools in it. It did get a small 1/4" cut from an insanely sharp Japanese woodworking chisel "Oire Nomi" when it escaped it's individual wrap, but I don't count that against the bag because the only thing sharper than that chisel might be a light saber. The cut hasn't gotten worse over the years and the bag has been unaffected by normal sharp tools. The leather has developed a nice patina, the cloth has softened and if anything become more abrasion resistent due to the softness. The base has a few stains and honest marks but no wear through. I suspect it will last many more years and highly recommend it.

My Favourite Tool Bag
Sturdy materials used, practical design for any craftspeople. About the right size for any handyman’s hammer, chisel, drill all in one bag. Definitely my favourite tool bag!
