Solid measuring cup

Note: The product being reviewed was received as part of the Amazon Vine program. My views are my own and were not influenced by this. This is a solid, if not big, measuring cup. I got it because it’s from a known brand (Kitchenaid) and had the marking so that they could be seen from the top and side. Note that is plastic. I’m used to the Pyrex glass measuring cups that can handle hot and cold liquids and are very tough (if not heavy). So this is a little different for me. Its light weight plastic contruction means that it’s not a multi-pound monster that is unwieldy, though. I’m not sure I needed a 4C version, but now I have one. Most of the time I’m only measuring out 1 or maybe 2 cups of something. But there are a few times when you need >2C and this comes in handy. It likely won’t be something that gets used every day, but for those times when you need it, it’s nice to have.

Okay, but not my favorite...

The KitchenAid Easy Vue measuring cup is not bad, but not my favorite. The measuring cup appears to be made from a solid acrylic material and washes well in the dishwasher. My biggest issue is I am left-handed, and the markings are clearly for a right-handed user. I don't understand why they could not mark the cup on both sides. The 'Easy Vue' feature is my favorite part because I can easily view my contents (as implied) without having to move the cup. My husband seems pleased, so as long as he is happy cooking :)

Nice for measuring cup portions

Nice that the cup size can be read from the inside or outside. Handle is basic, easy to hold. Rubber on bottom to prevent slipping. The plastic is on the thin side.

Sturdy and easy to read

This measuring cup is thick, sturdy, easy to read and lightweight. It makes adding larger volumes of liquids to recipes so much easier. The only two "cons" I have found is that it isn't microwave safe, and the handle isn't solid, so if you overfill with liquid, it will pour down the handle and on to your hand or all over the counter.

Beyond Measure

I have 1 glass measuring cup that goes up to 2 cups and I wanted something where I didn't have to pour something twice. This measuring cup was exactly what I needed. I'm teaching my daughter how to cook and measure things and the angled feature on it really helps her to be precise in her measurements. I like this, it's sleek and simple but works for what you need it to. Go ahead and buy it!

Large capacity, plastic so no worries about breakage

I had a 4 cup glass measuring cup that I loved, but my son accidentally broke it. I was very happy to get this one. I really like having the large capacity measuring cup. I use it a lot in baking and making marinades. I appreciate that this one is not glass so I have no worries about it breaking. The handle feels good in hand and I like that that there is silicone on the bottom to help keep the cup in its place. Overall, I am happy with the cups quality.

It's Kitchenaid!

It's made out of hard plastic. I use it to mix gravy mix and other baking recipes. I love how big the handle is. The measurements are clear without having to look on the side. I love all Kitchenaid products as they are built to last!

I prefer my old OXO

I got this measuring cup to possibly replace my old OXO which has seen better days. Newer and shinier is not necessarily better. The KitchenAid has ml and cups, but the other has ounces as well. The handle on my old one is more comfortable to hold. The spout on the old one is pointier and easier to pour out of without spilling.The KitchenAid is lighter and therefore feels a bit less substantial. The numbers on the KitchenAid are also smaller and more difficult to read. The old one has the numbers printed on a white background, which helps. All in all, it is a fine sturdy measuring cup, but there are better choices out there. I will give this one to my son who has better eyesight ;)
