Great for the price
I bought this set because it was cheaper than buying nail scissors and a comb individually and I've never had a complaint about any Dr. Brown products I've used. Everything in the set works as it should although the bulb syringe is smaller than the ones the hospital sends home and I still prefer the hospital syringe, probably because that's just what I'm used to.

Just as it promises to be! The scissors are a show-stealer for me in this kit...but all around great products!
This set is everything it promises to be...and surpassed my expectations. Yes, you can get kits with nail clippers and carry cases...but this doesn't pretend to be one of them. For what it advertises (brush/comb/nasal aspirator/nail scissors) it is exactly what I was looking for. We have baby nail clippers out the wazoo in our home...they were giving them away with gas drops and several other products, so our baby-rich home has amassed many of them. My husband prefers to use them, but I love using nail scissors and these scissors are SHARP and good! I use them on our kids up to age 5 (and older many times) and they make light work of nail trimming. The safety cover is an essential part and slips easily on and off. The finger holes are a little on the small side, but so are my hands, so they are perfect for me! They are the show-stealer in this kit as far as I'm concerned. The brush is more stiff bristled than some baby brushes, which again is something I love. It isn't "firm" but it does actually MOVE HAIR...something that seems to elude many baby brushes. Even my nearly bald-looking babies have a little bit of hair and I like for it to be brushed. This brush is also the perfect stiffness for using withMustela Foam Shampoo for Newborns, 5.07 fl.oz. , especially if your baby has cradle cap (though we use that on our babies always and it seems to prevent it!). There are also cradle cap brushes you can buy, but using a great little brush like this with that newborn shampoo is a great combination for prevention and treatment. The little "safety comb" has balls on the ends of each tooth so you don't accidentally jab baby's tender scalp. I love that they are able to do this and still have fine little teeth on the comb. Even the ends are rounded, which I love, though I found myself wanting to use and understand the hole in the end. I tried putting a finger or thumb through it and it definitely isn't an intuitive fit for my hand or any human hand, for that matter. I finally concluded that it must be for those family with little Yeti babies who need to tether a comb to the stroller handle or something for emergency access. lol Not sure what other purpose it serves, but I tried to make sense of it. The bulb syringe is just another one of those "gotta have" baby accessories that I found you can't have too many of. (They aren't as plentiful as nail clippers in the realm of free gizmos with purchases ha ha). I keep one tucked next to our newborns in their car seats (a trick the NICU nurses showed me with one of our preemies and I have always done it since). I also keep one in the diaper bag, one the changing table and in the back of our Rock & Play Sleepers... This particular bulb syringe is plenty soft and easy to use, though I prefer the NoseFrida typeNoseFrida The Snotsucker Nasal Aspirator for non-emergency nasal aspiration. (And of those, I prefer the few knock-off ones we have to the actual NoseFrida). But there is no getting around the effectiveness of the traditional aspirator for a crisis, which is why we keep ours handy all over the place. Again, this kit is what it promises to be...although I agree that MINT Green is a more apt description of the color. I feel the pictures depict the true color well, though...at least on my screen they do. It is a perfect gender-neutral set that would be great as part of a shower gift. One of my favorite shower gifts with my first baby (back when Moses was getting the stone tablets) was a baby bath full of baby care/grooming stuff and this type of kit would be an ideal part of that. But back then baby tubs weren't insanely overpriced with all the gizmos we have on ours now... ha ha.

Not just for infants! Functional tools for hygiene.
This well made set can be useful for children of any age, especially if they have find hair. Ok the nasal aspirator is fairly infant specific but the rest ( brush, comb, nail scissors) works well at all ages. The comb is particularly nicely made withfine teeth but balled ends to prevent hurting sensitive scalps. I did not like the clamshell packaging; it's the kind where you are pretty much guaranteed to spill blood before it is open. I understand why sellers use them for anti-theft purposes but it was still hard to open. Overall, very nice kit for a new parent. Nice aqua color, too.

Some Components of This Kit Are Better Than Others
This is a nice care kit, but not the best quality. The comb and scissors are great. The brush is good for babies with very fine hair that is too short to become tangled. The suction bulb is too firm to have enough suction for getting mucous out when your little one has a cold. The ones that come from the hospital or others on the market are better. Overall for the price it's worth it. I'll definitely be using the scissors and comb. The suction bulb is fine for suctioning saline but not much else.

Nice set
This is actually a nice little set. It is hard to find good bulb aspirators, aside from the ones at the hospital, but this one is just like those, on my smaller. I like the smaller size, too, and that surprised me. With the big ones I always squeezed them from the bottom of the bulb, pushing my thumb up into it. With this smaller one it works better squeezing the sides in. The brush is not the softest I felt a baby brush, but it's ok and helps to gently rub off cradle cap flakes. The comb has a set of teeth with the safety balls on the end and then shorter regular teeth in between. It works good. The scissors are nice quality. They do not feel cheap or flimsy like some do in other sets I have seen and had. The sheath clicks into the blades for safety, but the rounded tips are safe anyway. Theyre really nice nail scissors. Overall the set is a nice value and good quality. The pale aqua color is gender neutral too.

Thoughtfully designed, well made and useful grooming kit for newborns.
This is a well made infant grooming kit in an aqua green color. The bristles on the brush are long and very soft and the handle is relatively easy to handle but larger hands may be forced to use just a few fingers. The comb has rounded ends on the tines to keep them from scratching tender baby skin. There's a hole at the end , presumably so you can hang it somewhere. The little suction ball is very well made with thick rubber and creates a fairly strong suction. The clippers have a rounded end on them so that you won't stab anything but the cutting edges are pretty sharp. They are sharper than regular children's scissors, so caution using these is strongly advised. There's a little cover for them that clip on, but would still be easy to misplace. Together, these make a great kit for a newborn. They are all high quality products with care and thought that went into their design.
