Il Lavaochkin La-7 era un aereo da caccia sovietico della seconda guerra mondiale. Era un perfezionamento del Lavochkin La-5. Il Lavochkin La-7 aveva un motore più potente, un armamento migliore e miglioramenti aerodinamici incorporati. Il motore radiale Ash-82 FNU ha generato 1.850 CV (1380 kw) e l'armamento è stato aumentato a tre cannoni ShVak da 20 mm. Alcuni dei migliori assi della Russia li hanno pilotati, tra cui Ivan Kozedub, tre volte eroe dell'Unione Sovietica, l'asso alleato numero uno con 62 vittorie, tutte mentre volava su caccia Lavochkin. L'ultimo fu un La-7, che volò nel 1944. Abbatté 17 aerei tedeschi, uno dei quali era un jet Messerschmitt Me-262.
