Does the job but batter was dead

The color is a bit more brass color than nickel. The included battery for the door transmitter was dead. Otherwise works as specified.

Great doorbell; could be louder

Bought this because our rental lacks a functioning doorbell and we kept missing package deliveries. I bought this one mainly for the look of the push button....most of the highest rated door bells on Amazon look...too modern/space agey for the look of our mid century house. I wanted some that would not look wholly out of place next to the door. Set up was easy, and it was nice to have several different chimes to choose from. I was a bit confused that one of the chime sounds was literally a knocking noise, as that seemed a bit redundant to me lol. I mounted the push button to our vinyl siding with Scoth outdoor mounting tape and so far its holding up great. I was a little bothered that the back of the push button isnt completely flat...the corners have these protrusions that gave me some trouble while attempting to apply the tape evenly, but I eventually got it on. I mainly took off a star because even on the loudest setting, the doorbell really isnt all that loud. I can hear it alright most of the time, but my mother never hears it go off when she is here and she still has pretty decent hearing. All and all, a great budget doorbell!

It goes ding-dong when you push the button

What more do you want? It's cheap, and you can set the tone to none of 8 chimes via using a tiny button inside the button assembly. Hopefully it will last longer than the previous cheap doorbell I had, where corrosion eventually killed the outside button, but then there's the fact that you can actually buy new buttons for this doorbell which should make it not quite as disposable as most cheap doorbells. In addition, you can buy and add additional buttons. If you're in the Deep South and most people who know you come to the side door and only strangers come to your front door, you can have a doorbell button in both places ringing the doorbell in your central hallway. The instruction guide that comes with this tells you how to pair the new doorbell buttons with the receiver. All in all, for something that is budget priced, this doorbell is surprisingly well featured.

Very pretty and easy to install

It is easy to choose the ring tone and to install the indoor portion as well as the door frame button. It's attractive in the room and the sound is very nice.

Probably a decent doorbell, but sounds like a cheap radio from the 90s

There are 8 tones but all of them are the most annoying, tinny renditions of what they are supposed to sound like... except the knock which sounds like a knock. I never thought that you could make the Westminster Chime sounds pathetic! Well Done!!!

Worked well for a year.

Bought this based on GE brand name. Have had it for 15 months and now every time we close the front door, it goes off! More expensive than most similar so expected better than this lifespan. Will replace with something else that is less money.

Don't Waste Your Money

I bought this a year ago and it quit working with 8 months. While the chime box works, the actual door bell quit in that 8 months. We have replaced the batteries in both pieces and nothing. I will never buy a GE wireless doorbell again. I guess you get what you pay for - a hunk of junk. I

Very happy with it

I am really pleased with this doorbell. Because it is entirely battery operated, it doesn't take up one of the few electrical outlets in the house and makes the base unit portable so i can take it out in the garden with me and not miss hearing the bell.

Not Loud placed to far away from the room it is in.

I like the look, but I live in a large apt, so if Iam in the living room with tv on, I have to bring the wall unit into that room with me to hear if it rings. I really should be a bit louder if needed. It would be great for tiny apt.
