Nice oil rubbed bronze drain

We bought 2 drains of this type. The drains look good and is pretty easy to install. The drains were installed with vessel sinks with a mounting ring underneath and on top of granite counter tops. The drain works fairly well. Slightly slow to drain but better than two other grid drains that we have installed. The only caution is that outer tube with the threading for the lock-nut is short and with all the stack-ups (vessel thickness, mounting ring and granite counter), you are left with very little threading for the lock nuts to grab a hold off. If you have over the counter sinks, be careful before installing that you do not run into a problem.

Good quality but needs another nut

The drain arrived promptly and undamaged. It looks good and has a heavy, solid feel. My problem was with installation. I needed it for a vessel sink I'm placing on top of a vanity. The drain comes with one nut (plus washer and rubber seal) to secure the drain to the vessel. Then you need a second nut to secure the vessel/drain to the vanity, using a washer of your own. Problem is, I could never find a nut that would fit. I tried all the big box hardware stores and even a plumbing supply place. The nut that fits this drain is impossible to find.

Matches my distressed copper sink perfectly

I bought a cute little copper sink at a Mexican import shop without thinking about the fact that it didn't have an overflow, so the drain I got with my faucet wouldn't work. That is where this part came in. The description said it was rubbed bronze, but it perfectly matches my copper sink. Nice and hefty feeling it looks like it won't chip and rust like some of the chrome-coated drains we have.

Good old fashioned drain

Plumbing professional here, I love installing Kingston Brass fixtures, this was no exception. Bought for my own home.

Looks good but slow to drain

This drain looks good with a brushed brass color but it is slow to drain water. This allows scum to build up easily and looks dirty. It is probably to be expected with a grid drain system.

Slow to no draining

Because our sink does not have an overflow, there is no venting action and this Grid style drain makes it very slow to drain. There are times when the water tension is strong enough that it covers the holes completely and it will not drain at all. The quality is very good for the price, but the design is not very good. I have to swirl my finger over the holes to break the surface tension in order for the water to even flow through it. I have to run the water almost at a trickle in order for this drain to keep up. The rest of the drain is new and there is no blockage and the previous sink drained normally so I know it's not an issue with my plumbing. I would only recommend this for the looks but not functionality.

Arrived defective/damaged

The item shipped quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait about 6 weeks to finally install this part as we were waiting for other plumbing fixtures to arrive for our renovation. Today plumber came to site to install this drain. The box was taped shut, as if it had been opened before. We opened it, and saw that it was badly bent. Cannot install. Hoping a replacement can be sent out.
