Very heavy build but takes some fiddling

The top part for the shower riser had issues leaking. The rubber ring provided kept tacoing when screwing together so i replaced the ring and pvc taped the threads and that solved it. The adapter to the riser was a bit awkward as well as the nut spins so you shouldnt have to spin the riser. But the adapter end that connects to the faucet is threaded into the faucet so when you tighten or loosen the nut to the riser, the adapter can come loose and leak. Its a bit fiddley to get it in sealec but once you get it, its fine.

Could get complicated

This is my second identical one of these faucets as I purchased in the last year. I bought the first one to replace an old drippy faucet that looked as ugly as it performed. This is a spendy faucet as I think is priced by the pound as it is a beefy unit that you would think could last 20 years. Installation is always what is and usually related to what you have to remove before you accommodate and install the new. I installed this faucet in one of my rental cabins, and was pretty satisfied with the final results. 9 months later a guest called me to tell me that despite turning off the faucet, water was still streaming out of the mouth of the faucet. I couldn't hardly believe it... but yes it was. I had no water shutoffs at the tub as the original install left me no room to put any in... and I figured this faucet was going to last forever anyway. Well... here we go. Shut of the main, remove the faucet, cap off the water supply to the faucet (female garden hose threaded cap by the way... keep those in your toolbox?). Now what do I do? Lowe's, Home Depot, and even plumbing supply houses want to special order these faucets for you. Trouble is... I need it now! I contacted Kingston Brass on a Friday via an email / contact us link... explaining my issue. No surprise... Monday I heard back that the failure was likely related to a "cartridge failure" and they would send a new cartridge out under warranty... but only after proof of purchase yada yada. I asked for a freebie 2nd cartridge in case both had failed but my request was ignored. I also knew I wouldn't be getting this warranty part any time soon... I could sense this was coming by true snail mail. I got it in about a week... no surprise by me... and certainly no panic on the Kingston Brass end. Solution? On Monday PM, buy a another faucet from AMZ via overnight / Prime. Got it. Install was fast because the new just fastened up to the previously installed components. What an expensive pain to get that bath / shower up and running reasonably quickly for my guests. After eventual receipt of the cartridge I replaced it and trust the repair will work if the new faucet fails and I have to replace it too. Nothing this expensive with basic (hopefully well made) components should fail in the first year. I wonder where this was made? I'd gladly return the extra faucet for a full refund... How about it Kingston Brass?

Wish the spray unit was included, but nice fixture would get five stars if the spray unit was included. And yes I would have paid more. LOL

Great Quality

Replaced a lower priced faucet that looked like this, but did not last over 18 months. Save your time and money - buy top-quality to begin with and only install 1 time. Kingston Brass is a national brand with parts (washers/seats/cartridges) that are readily available if and when needed. An economy faucet may save you money up front, but will cost a LOT more in the not-so-long run. Purchased the Kingston diverter valve for the hand held shower also, it was also very well made and designed. This faucet is easy to install, works as promised, arrived well packaged with good instructions. I would recommend this faucet to anyone.

No riser, no cap, get the right one

My wife ordered this not realizing it needed a riser . Wow did not want the shower. Contacted company with four emails. Can't believe there is no cap. Went to hardware store and cap did not fit. Worried the grandkids will throw the shower lever and drench the ceiling. WHY IS THERE NOT A CAP FOR THIS UNIT?

Pretty piece

Bought this piece to add on to a shower piece from the same makers bc the faucet didn’t include a tub filler. While I was annoyed that I had to buy another (expensive) piece, it easily fit the existing piece and worked like a charm
