Excellent quality landscape fixture at a reasonable price
I purchased 5 of these about a month ago for my front yard, and liked them so much I just added 3 more in my back yard. Although they aren't cheap in my opinion the quality is really great for the price. I have mostly Focus Industries fixtures in my back yard installed by my landscape contractor, so I looked into those first. The equivalent Focus fixture was over $200 each (YIKES!), so forget that. I tried some $20 Malibu "Professional Grade" fixtures as an experiment - let's just say you get what you pay for so those went back to Home Depot. I have Kichler outdoor lighting fixtures on my house that I like very much, so I decided to try these. They were a great choice - the same quality as the Focus fixtures at a fraction of the price. The "quick connect" fittings, while much better quality than Malibu's, are still flaky. I tried them on a couple of the fixtures as an experiment. Sometimes they work on the first try, other times you have to try over and over to get a good connection. I highly recommend tossing them in the trash and buying some water-tight wire nuts to make a secure, reliable connection. The other negative (and the reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5) is in order to change the bulbs you have to unscrew three screws from under the cap and remove it entirely to get to the bulb. Luckily they do provide xenon bulbs so at least you shouldn't have to change the bulbs very often. UPDATE 4/02/15: I just ordered 5 more of these (yes, I really like them, still). Amazon has changed the description to "Incandescent/LED Hybrid". Not sure what that is supposed to mean, but it is very misleading and it is not listed that way on Kichler's website. These are still just incandescent fixtures, not LED unless you buy a separate LED bulb for them (many T5 base LED's available, few are weather tight except Kichler's own LED which are really overpriced). I guess by this definition every incandescent light fixture you own is now "incandescent/LED Hybrid" since you can replace the bulb with an LED. Good to know! And extremely misleading.

Great product, great price
Instead of buying these locally, we bought them on amazon and saved a boatload. High quality, professional grade.

These are really nice lights. I have purchased 6 now to replace old (not Kichler) mushroom lights. One suggestion to Kichler...re-engineer the cover and the 3 screw on settings to make it EASIER to swap out light bulbs, please. This current design is very difficult to change bulbs as the 3 screws must be removed to take off the mushroom cap to replace the bulb. Now in the lab this may be easy, but when a customer has to do this in the real world, it is VERY difficult. Add to that, the screw holes are not always tapped so that the screw comes out and goes back in easily and the job gets really difficult. Then the older we get the less able we are to lay down on the ground so we can look up under the cap to see and unscrew the cap. This change should be an easy one for Kichler, just replace the screws with pressure clamps or find a way to screw the cap onto the posts. I'm no engineer, I like the Kichler products, but it seems to me that they have paid little attention to the DIY guy and follow-on maintenance, at least on this product. Thanks, IMHO.

A great choice for modern landscapes
Our landscape designers recommended a different product line for our modern landscape design project, but I have had great success with the Kichler brand on other house projects and knew that they not only look great and hold up well, but they are easy for electricians to install. So I went with Kichler. When I received several of these dome lights from Kichler, I was surprised at how tall they were, which was not the fault of the listing. They just looked giant. However, once installed, they looked just perfect and blended in to the landscape. We used the bulbs that came with the light and they cast just the perfect amount of light to light the path and area without needing a dimmer. We combined them with the Kichler mini-accent lights to highlight our trees and transformer, see links to these items below. The look is flawless. Looks greats...install a little harder
I purchased four of these lights last summer for my new paver patio and fire pit. They are a nice height and color. Also, they come with a nice long stake which is good for keeping the light where you want it. I live in Iowa and with the freezing and thawing, they did not move. We've been please and I am getting ready to buy a couple more for the front now. My only negative with these lights is the connectors to the main power line. I've installed two other kinds at my previous homes (off the shelf stuff from Lowes), and they were much easier to do than the Kichler lights.

Far better than any big-box store landscape light
After years of experimenting with cheaper solar and wired landscape lights, I decided to invest in six of these Kichler lights and led bulbs. The Kichlers are solid, elegant, tall enough, and worth the money. 18 months later they are still beautiful, bright, and not a single light has burned out or even flickered. Don't trust the mechanical connectors with these or ANY low voltage light unless you want to be constantly fiddling with them. I used soldered connections and coated them with two coats of liquid rubber. Perfection!

Look and work great
Look great but they should for the price. Quality seems good except that the plastic stake is fragile and will crack easily if cold. Don’t spend extra for the LED version. You can get LED wedge bulbs that work really well. Light a fairly large area so they can be spaced quite far apart. Would have rated them a five except for the stakes.

Worth the extra $$
These lights look great! I did spring for the led bulbs for the brightness and longevity. Will update in the spring to see how they hold up to my Canadian winter.
