It's a great lamp base, just plan to buy your own shade.

My lamp arrived yesterday, and despite the packaging not quite holding up, it survived transport unscathed. As other reviewers noted, the lamp base is nicely made, solid, and attractive. I found it easy to assemble, and had it set up in about 15 minutes. When putting the lamp base together, I recommend assembling it from the top to the base, because you'll need to feed the cord downward through the base in order to take up the slack. Other reviewers noted that the shade was a pretty cheap paper one, and they were right. The style is a step in the right direction, but it doesn't do justice to the lamp base. The finial was also a poorly-cast resin "leaf" and didn't look very good. Thanks to the other reviews, I knew to expect that when I made the purchase. But to my mind, the hard part is finding a well-made, beautiful lamp base for a reasonable price; the shade is the easy part. I bought a lampshade from the same retailer from which I bought my table lamps, and a basic brass finial, and voila--I have a lovely, well-made floor lamp that coordinates perfectly with my table lamps. I really like the way that the leaves add a touch of whimsy without being too frou-frou (especially with a lampshade that has clean lines), and that the lamp has a solid feel and balance. It doesn't feel cheap, or like it's going to tip over at the slightest touch. It is definitely a much higher-quality lamp than others I saw at the same price point. I think I'll give it a month or so to see how I like it, and then buy one for my master bedroom too. Deducting a star for the shade and finial, but if you just think of it as buying the base, the price is still a bargain for the quality, compared to other offerings at the same price point.

Very nice lamp and easily sets up-- Five stars for a very nice product.

We had an older lamp that had a worn out three way switch. Wife loved the flowers on the post. It's about a foot shorter than the older lamp, but it's very well made and when put together very solid. Speaking about put together, it was clever how it shipped. The lamp had two posts, the top light holder, and base to put together. The power cable connected all three and the lamp came together in five minutes. It was slightly crooked in the shade stand but easy to fix because the metal was bendable, but not too soft. The light works well and the shade throws off a nice gentle glow. We use an LED 3 way bulb that runs 4 watts on low in our living room. We like it dimmer at night. Buyers should be aware that the CLF "coiled" 3 way bulbs won't work in the lamp-- the shade frame is too short. The only complaint I have -- it's so minor it's trivial. When the box arrived (double boxed--thank you manufacturer and Amazon) the lamp was enclosed with a very crumbly white styrofoam. It crumbled even when just removing the pieces. Luckily we had just purchased a new Dyson Stick and it was a quick cleanup. But in the future maybe use foam wrapped in plastic to prevent spillage of broken fragments all over the carpet. Highly recommended. A well made and good looking product.

A+++ Gorgeous Floor Lamp

I have ordered many things online that have to be assembled so I was a little leery of ordering this lamp, even though it was beautiful and the reviews were good. This is a spectacular lamp that is of amazing quality, is extremely heavy and is very well made. It took me about ten minutes to assemble. The pieces of the main lamp were already connected, they just had to be screwed together. And the lamp is beautiful, it almost looks like a piece of sculpture. The only problem I had with it was that the lampshade that came witht it had two dark vertical marks on it that you could only see when the lamp was turned on. I am sure that is how the lampshade made it past Quality Assurance because you cannot see the marks on the lampshade when the lamp is turned off. I emailed Kenroy Home explaining the problem and heard back from them within 24 hours telling me they were sending me a replacement lampshade immediately. I was so pleased with the lamp and with the way Kenroy Home handled my problem that I ordered two table lamps to match the floor lamp. If you order this lamp you will not be sorry. It is packaged very well and is in a box that is just the right size to protect all the contents without being too big and thus a pain to dispose of. Oh, and by the way, I have read about other lamps having problems with the three-way light switch not working on other lamps. On this lamp, the three-way switch works perfectly. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Bought two - I liked so much!!!

I love this cute floor model lamp. I prefer softer lit lamps vs the big bright ones available...and this gives my living room a warm, comfortable light. I was hesitant to purchase based on some previous reviewers stating they had received their order with a broken part or maybe smooshed lampshade. I have to say, when I received my box...it was packed as if it was a $500 item!! No damage, no dents, and it was actually the lamp packed snugly in the lamp's box...and then THAT box packed in a larger box with packing stuffing. I couldn't wait to get out of the box and set up. It took me all of 5 minutes to have it put together and a lightbulb inserted!! For a price tag of about $100, I think this is worth the price - especially with the leafy detailing. I love it so much, I just bought a 2nd one for the other side of my couch!!! Both lamps will be plugged into outlets that turn on/off with a wall switch....so I'm hopeful the lightbulb lamp switch will last a long time. Very happy camper.

Plenty of light with "daylight" LED 100W blubs.

I brought two of these and will be purchasing another shortly. They fit our decor beautifully and give plenty of light in the corners of our large living room where we do most of our reading. Looking forward to putting them to use during the winter when it's dark at 3 p.m. The 100W daylight LEDs will help with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) as well. We'll see.

Wobbly, Cheap-looking

The design is interesting, but the lamp is less substantial than I anticipated, and the shade was crooked. Plus, no matter what we tried, the cord wouldn't tuck neatly into the base as intended. The result was a wobbly lamp that looks and feels kind of cheap. We returned it.

Easy to put together and I like the end result except I was expecting a bronze finish as listed to go with the bronze table lamp in the same room. It’s an oil rubbed black not bronze unless the definition of bronze has changed :)
