i would size up 2x’s Kid wears a 10 buy a 16/18 if they have it
They run extremely small! My girls wear 10 and i bought a 12/14 which they barely were able to fit and both are slim! So i would size up 2x’s

Great board shorts for girls
These shorts are well made, with very nice materials. They fit my 12 year old daughter really well. I just wish they had a real drawstring. The closure is velcro, so they are easy to get on and off. They do not have a net/mesh insert inside, which is good, we did not want that. The biggest complaint I have is that they don't come in many normal colors - all the colors are super girly. My daughter is more a tomboy and would prefer black or red or something less "little kid". We got the bright blue, which was the only real option - would have bought more pairs if the color choices were a bit less over the top.

A swim set for girls who play hard!!
Perfect swim bottoms for a modest, active 11 yo girl. I bought bikini bottoms to go under them. Just a bit of stretch, light weight but reasonably soft & durable fabric, not see-through. Fit as a regular size 12. I bought the matching not-too-cutesie- rash guard too & am SO happy! It’s a great functional girls swimsuit set. Not little girlie, not sexy, no fear of wardrobe malfunctions. We hike in, bike in, swim, kayak, fish, camp, explore, ski/tube, and all around play hard! I need a girls swim suit that will keep up with her! I searched and searched for a girls board shorts swim set that would be comfortable & dependable at all times, protect from sun, dry fast, last 50+ washes, withstand all the summer elements sun/chlorine/salt/sand/dirt/clay. I am pleased w the quality of this set and even bought a 2nd set in a different color! Look out summer, here we come!!

Kanu Little Girls Boardshorts Run Big
These are board shorts. The draw string does not function to tighten shorts around waist, it only ties them in front. Amazon would do well to change this sizing chart to Kanu brand rather than a general Amazon size chart. Our thin 7 yr old is 46 lbs, 48 inches tall, has 22 1/2 inch hip circumference and 19 1/2 to 20 in natural waist circumference. She wears 6-7 on most items, and is more a 6 for size and 7 for height. These fit at the hips, and are closer to 24 1/2 inch inner circumference, and if cinched to their tightest might fit 23 1/2 to 24 inch hips. They measure 3 inches in length from the inseam. Our daughter is currently wearing an old size 5 pair of these from last summer that have become rather short. I knew they ran big from our last pair (which we'd ordered at age 5 and had to wait a year to wear), but hoped the next size up would work. They do not. Will keep for next year. Quality is good, as our last part has lasted over a year of swimming at beaches, lakes, chlorinated and salt water pools. Work well for triathlons as well. I would give 5 stars for quality. 4 stars b/c sizing & Amazon's size chart, are annoying.

Runs big
These run super big. Bought a 7, way to big. Couldn't get anything smaller.

You can't order 10-12
I ordered a few pairs of 10-12 and ALL OF THEM have been shipped as 12-14; you (or at least I) cannot order these in the 10-12 size, so suspect the item IDs are incorrect between the store front and the back end. That being said, the 12-14 are 28" waist; I later ordered size 7 for my 10 year-old (24" waist) and they fit perfectly. Based on this I'm suggesting these run large, so keep that in mind (along with other's feedback). The size 7s arrived, as ordered, and appear to not be too loose in the legs (important because they are short and have no liner) but we'll see how they hold up in fit and form next week at river camp.

Nice shorts for the price, but be careful on size / fit
These are nice shorts, they look good and seem fairly well tailored and constructed. RUN A LITTLE LARGE IN THE WAIST: As others have noted, the challenge is the size. If it's helpful, a size 7 has about a 25 inch waistband (though it's meant to ride below the child's actual waist) and about 32 inch hips. NO WAIST ADJUSTMENT: If your child likes their shorts to ride at the waist - you may be out of luck. There is no adjustment at the waist, the velcro attachment (see photo) doesn't have any flexibility and the tie is just a decoration. They'll tend to ride a little lower down. This is fairly typical for board shorts, but FYI. SMALL POCKET: The pocket is small, which may limit its usefulness. Inside, it's about 3 inches wide by 3 inches or so high. NO LINING: There is no lining, so these probably won't serve as a bathing suit. They are a nice coverup for a bathing suit - whether for modesty or to reduce sunburn.

Cute but Need to Size Down
Super cute, but the size 5 is 1 size too large for my 5 year old who usually wears size 5. There isn’t enough stretch to tie the front tighter, so for now, we are folding the shorts over at the top. (We use them as water shorts over swimsuit.) Even w/the fold over they’re loose. Recommend sizing down 1 size from what your child usually wears.

Costuras interiores de mala calidad
Las costuras interiores son muy asperas. Y para el hecho de que es un bañador. Realmente al mojarse. Llega sl punto de irritar la piel.
