❤️ Joseph Joseph
Great peeler so much less mess. All Joseph Joseph products are amazing

Collection piece doesn't stay on
The peeler portion is wicked cheap and doesn't peel well. But what is worse is that the collection piece doesn't even stay secured when peeling so you're basically using a regular peeler anyway. Don't buy this.

Doesn’t work
The blade itself is not high quality, and there is such a big gap between the blade and the “catcher” that the small shavings fall right through to the counter. Same mess, so I went back to my old one which is easier to hold.

Don't waste your money
It doesn't work, with or without the container. I just tossed it.

Not easy to hold.
Cut my finger, not easy to hold. I've been using a different potato peeler for 15 years. Wanted to upgrade and thought this one was nice since it collected trash. Well this one went right into the trash. Please be careful!!

Difficult to use, won't recommend
Very sharp knife and difficult to use, cut my thumb on the first use to peel an apple. You have to hold the peeler at a specific angle or it won't work. The wide handle for collecting the peels also makes it hard to see if your hand accidentally goes under it (like I did).

Don’t bother.
Unhelpful. I tried to use this tool over and over thinking it would make the job easier. It didn’t.

Blade could be better and sharper
Takes getting used too. Need to hold it upright so peeled parts don't slide back up and get in your way. Also the blade could have been a bit more sharper and better. We need version 2.0 of this item with better and sharper blade. The peeling process should be easier and not a struggle

Simply not working. Item returned.

Tidy idea. A little bulky in the hand.
I can see the idea of this as a convenient utensil: you peel your veg, the peel slips tidily into the handle, when you’ve finished you walk over to your recycling bin, open the handle and drop the peel in. Simple and tidy. And it almost works. No, that’s unfair, I’m not saying it DOESN’T work, just that it’s maybe not quite as smooth as it sounds. I tried it out but the only thing I had available to peel was a fresh apricot. Being a soft fruit, the peel was softer and sticker than vegetables would be. The blade is sharp and peeled it readily, some peel slid into the handle as it is supposed to but some clogged up around the blade, so it’s not quite as applicable to soft fruit. I do believe, however, that wouldn’t have been a problem with a potato or carrot or even an apple. I did find the wide, square handle felt a bit bulky and less manoeuvrable in my hand. The handle separates easily to empty it and slides back on securely. I suppose the capacity of the handle is the other thing that I wonder about. If I’m peel a few carrots or a couple of cooking apples, that wouldn’t be a problem. However, if I’m doing a Sunday roast, I’m going to want to peel a kilo of potatoes for mash and roast, carrots, parsnips, maybe some sweet potato. How many trips back and forth to empty the handle is that going to involve and how many before I get fed up and just dump all the peel in the sink and pick it up by the handful at the end? It may be less practical if you are doing a lot of peeling in one go.

A nice idea but has its flaws.
This is a natty looking little peeler and the peeling blade is sharp and pretty effective. It is s nice idea - collecting the shavings as you peel, but in reality, the little chamber fills up far to quickly to be very helpful - you just spend a lot of time emptying it! Because of the shape to the collection chamber the handle is not especially ergonomic and is quite unwieldy. I found this slowed me down and caused a little discomfort after a long peeling session. It is easy to clean. Good for small jobs I guess. If you a peeling a heap of potoatoes you want something that fits nice in the hand, and you don't mund so much if there is a bit of clean up time after. This is currently my 2nd best peeler and mostly lives in the kitchen drawer.

I am not impressed! ☹️
We have a number of excellent quality Joseph Joseph kitchenware products in our home, ranging from a recycling bin to a variety of serving bowls. So, it was with some disappointment that I found this peeler sadly lacking in the ability to do something as simple as peel a humble spud. I'll accept that you need to employ the right angle to get it to work, but I just found it far too fiddly to use, and I spent more time trying not to lacerate the end of my finger with it. The collection tray is fine for preparing small amounts of vegetables, but becomes redundant if you've got a family of four to feed because you'll need to empty that tray several times. For me, it's far more efficient to use the 'all steel' cheap and cheerful peeler I've been using for years, collect the peel in a bowel, and empty it in one go into my composting bin. The side of this peeler features a lip, which is there to help remove potato eyes - rather than more durable metal, it's made of plastic, so I can't see that lasting long before it finally snaps off. From a reputable company like Joseph Joseph I would have expected a much better product than this, especially given its price. If you're cooking for one, and you're already comfortable with using this design of peeler, then this may suit you. Personally, it's not for me, so isn't a product I can hand on heart recommend.
