Helped release mats on short-hair cat
Yes, our short-hair cat got mats... He is a middle-aged buff tabby with that super fine rabbit-fur and had developed several mats around his rump, most likely a result of static from dry winter air. They would not brush out and he didn't appreciate how they pulled his skin. A short-lived attempt to shave them (NOPE) had me searching for a less traumatic solution and I took a gamble on this spray. At first I sprayed my hands and then rubbed it into his mats; as he got used to it over a few days I was able to spray him directly and massage it into his fur - concentrating on the mats - and follow up with gentle brushing with a ball-tipped brush to avoid scraping his skin or pulling the mats too much. I did not spray his head, just shoulders to tail. PROS: the spray pump is very quiet and I was able to sneak sprays on him without alarming him too much. The product eliminated the static from his fur and left it feeling soft and moisturized. It took several days of spritzing the mats and massaging it in, but I was able to brush the mats out within a week. No shaving required. CONS: the scent, though pleasant, is a bit stronger than it needs to be. Our other cat is not a fan of the scent and hypergrooms when I use it on him so I'm not sure it's effective on him.

Works great but strong smell.
I bought this for my ShiChi because her fur is so thick that I'd brush her out and after an hour of running around playing, her fur would have small mats. So I sprayed her fur last night, rubbed it in and then brushed her out after it dried. This morning she was still mat and knot free and her fur is super soft. I'm very impressed with the way it works but not so impressed with the strong scent. It's not an unpleasant smell just strong even after 12 hours. So I am only giving it 4 stars. If they would decrease the intensity of the smell, it would definitely be a 5 start product.

INTOXICATING SMELL - LIGHTLY MOISTURIZING
Smells absolutely wonderful. It’s not quite identical to the shampoo but it is very nice. I am sensitive to many strong scents but this product is fine for me and my dogs don’t seem to mind it, either. Very lightly moisturizing but can be used often. My dogs’ hair/fur is already in great condition so I can’t speak to how well it would moisturize on a dull/dry coat. It is lightly moisturizing for us and does make it easier to brush and comb. The spray nozzles are not very good. They don’t spray well at all. Make sure you shake the bottle as that will help the nozzle work the best it can but the nozzles are not very good quality, overall. Regular price is too high for only 8oz. If it offered heavier conditioning properties/better nozzle or if the volume was 12oz then I think the price would be fair. Smells great, though, and we will continue to stick up when they’re on sale.

Yes It worked!
Our long hair Maine Coon mix had some terrible matting on her underside and legs. I sprayed each area and massaged it into the fur. After letting it set a few minutes I used a comb to pull the clumps out a little at a time. Only downside is leaving a bit of a greasy look afterwards but a wipe down with a damp cloth helps lessen the affect.

Great product
Works great, gets out the matting on my yorkie. I just spray one knot at a time and brush out. Highly suggest if you don’t want to cut your dogs hair because of matting.

Love the lavender scent
I'm not too sure that this is moisturizing or de-tangling. But, I do like the scent. I have been using this for about a month, along with a comb that is supposed to break up the mats that long haired cats tend to get. My fluffy boy is definitely looking better. But, I just can't confirm if it is due to this product or the regular brushing.

Great product
Love this spray! Keeps my pup soft and fresh between baths. The lavender and mint smell is light, herby and pleasant, and even lingers in his coat for a few days following the grooming session. We comb it in once every week or three (depends how much time we spend in the grass/dirt/mud). We rotate with a few other detanglers/deodorizers/dry shampoos, but this is the favourite. Very happy with Paul Mitchell products -- I have been using the shampoo and conditioner for humans in the same scent for years; delighted to find that they also make haircare for dogs! (Yes, my dog and I wear the same fragrance hahaha.)

Great detailer!
I recently got a pomeranian puppy and have been worried about brushing him until I got this! The spray comes out in a nice even mist, I only need a spray or two for his whole body. I start with a comb at first to get big knots and then a brush easily goes through his fur. With this spray I'm able to brush my entire puppy in a few minutes with very few tugs on his fur which is amazing. I'm so happy I found this because brushing him is quick, easy, his fur is so soft after and he smells great!

Didn't really detangle and don't like the scent
I hoped I would like this spray better. I have a small dog with not very long hair but it still doesn't help me brush through the hair and the smell is like men's cologne. I won't bother returning it, but unfortunately I don't like it.

Efficace dans l'ensemble
Même si le spray de la bouteille n'est pas puissant. Je trouve que l'effet est la. Il démêle. Ie poil long et epais de mon chat surtout vers ses pattes arrière. Le produit sent bon mais l'odeur est un peu forte mais pas désagréable.

J'utilise régulièrement ce produit, il facilite beaucoup le brossage et avec son odeur de lavande, j'ai observé que les moustiques tournent moins autour
