Pleasantly surprised - especially if you're a Levi's 511 Person
UPDATE: still good but the pockets stretch open too much after just a small amount of time. Makes the top area look slightly baggy, in an odd way. I'll keep this review to what's hopefully most helpful to you. I always buy Levi's 511, which is slim, not skinny. But Levi's are never cheap and with an impending recession, etc., trying to proactively save. I was very skeptical and read enough reviews where I got the impression that this Amazon Basics "Skinny" would fit more like a Levi's 511 Slim - and it does. I bought a pair of Wrangler about 6 months ago hoping the same but had to return it. I was 50% certain I'd have to return these but pleasantly surprised. These jeans even have a YKK zipper. If you don't know (I've used YKK zippers in my industry for many things), YKK is the largest zipper manufacturer and is generally high quality. My only issue is that I wish the pull tab was slightly larger...it's a bit too slim/small. Aside from that, the denim looks like it's decent quality. I like how this is "slim"/fitting yet at the same time doesn't sit too low below the waist. I'd say it sits a bit below the waist since it has a low-rise and slim/skinny, but it's a good compromise and isn't too low. In all, kind of/sort of impressed. I'm in marketing/product development and good move on Amazon's part to not have any Amazon Basics branding on the back right where jeans are typically branded - that's the first thing I looked for in the pics. Since if it did have an Amazon label and I ordered and liked it, I would have completely un-sewn the label, so I'm glad I didn't have to go through that trouble. And I think Amazon's product development/private label people know that.

Good fit but not thick denim quality
Compare to the same Amazon Essentials skinny-fit stretch jeans in blue, this pair of black jeans come in a lighter denim material. Blue (99% Cotton, 1% Elastane) whereas black (97% Cotton, 3% Elastane). Personally I prefer more cotton than less for it has a thicker feel on me. The black pair of jeans also fits me fine, just not the same feel, no complaint here. Perhaps Amazon Essentials will consider using the same (99% Cotton and 1% Elastane) for their future skinny-fit jeans in all colors. Thank you.

Got It Mostly for the Color
I bought these jeans mostly because I am tired of the usual blue, gray, brown and black jeans. I was looking for something different and I think these qualify. I don't see many green jeans around. I am still looking for unusual colors (maroon?), but they are hard to find. Meanwhile, these jeans fit me well and feel comfortable although the material seems thin compared to older style jeans I have worn. I wouldn't want to wear these jeans outside on a very cold day, but they will be fine in summer. Also, the trousers are a bit snug on my legs, but that's alright.

Good jeans
I like the fit, style and feel. I am knocking off a point because after one wash in cold/delicate and low heat dry, the back pockets (which I never put anything in) are getting wavy and loose at the top. They don’t lay flat agains the seat anymore. It’s like the elastic has gone wonky. If it gets any worse I will review again and take off as many stars as appropriate.

Comfortable and looks great, but size is inconsistent
After decades of wearing brand names, I've tried 'stretch' type of jeans. They are great for moving, bending down, etc. Amazon offers many variations in style, colors, and sizes. However, I did notice that their size are not consistent. If you order two pairs with different colors, their actual sizes can differ. They seem to shrink after a wash, but not as much as regular jeans. I'd recommend ordering different sizes and keeping what fit you.

Good for what they are
I honestly expected them to be a skinnier fit than they actually are. They are true to size and look nice for a basic pair of low priced jeans. For the price, my complaints aren’t really that significant. They look nice enough, they fit well, and the price is right.

Great fit and solid denim
I’ve always bought Volcom “Vorta” jeans, and they are typically at least twice the price. These have the same fit, and so much cheaper. I won’t stop buying Volcom’s, but these are perfect for the price. I can hardly see a difference in fit

good alternative to levis 512
I was looking for a cheaper alternative to levi 512 at $100/pair. I bought 4 pairs of these in different colors and I like them, however, you get what you pay for. I found that two of the four were very tight fitting and two of the four fit perfect. All were 35wx30L. I kept all 4 but in the future I think I would just return the tight ones and exchange for same size hoping to get a better fit. Quality is great. Material is great. They are just a bit inconsistent on the sizing but that is easily fixed with Prime try before you buy. Plus Levi 512 do not come in 35w, these do. Nice taper on the legs. Waist stretches just enough. Plenty of colors.

Comfy Fit

Nice but Slim, not skinny
I usually wear Skinny or super skinny jeans and obviously each brand has their own definition of skinny jeans but these in my book are slim and not skinny. Im sure it will be suitable for many and quality is good. For me I need a level tighter fitting. Also waist is not tight which I liked (not snug on waist).

Pretty good for the price BUT..
Decent cut & quality for the money, BUT please sort the sizing out, purchased the dark rinse before, perfect fit, purchased the stone wash (light) pair this time (same size) & they are completely different, long in the leg & not such a good fit all round, shame. Not going to return them, just use them as house slobbers.

Surprising
Bought a partner destroys his jeans working (painter/ decorator) so just wanted some cheap Disposable jeans - they are actually really good, sizing great and look really smart. Has now kept as his smart going out jeans.... who knew

Developed hole in a weird place after a month
Developed a hole on the shin (so no where near any of the usual wear and tear areas) after a month, having only been worn maybe five times. Also not that skinny for skinny jeans, quite baggy, despite being a size smaller than I'd usually buy. Wouldn't recommend
