4-stars for Lodge cast iron lids. 2-stars for All-Clad lids. So i give these a generous 3-star rating. This product is being marketed as a ubiquitous pot/pan lid holders and they just aren't going to live up to that. As long as you hold the lid level, you're ok. They aren't going to come off. But, as other reviewers have pointed out, if you tilt the lid it slips and burns the backs of your fingers on the hot lid. Do this a couple of times, maybe four or five, and you'll eventually learn how to use these and indoctrinate your muscle memory to use them without burning the crap out of your fingers. Oddly enough, as loose as they are on the lids allowing them such freedom of movement to twist & burn, they're not as easy as you'd think to get off. So I leave them on as suggested in the item description. I'll probably leave them on until I feel like I've gotten my eight bucks out of them and then go back to using a towel or just burning my fingers and saying 'ouch' a lot After revisiting this item for review, it occurs to me that they almost looks like they might have been some extruded piece of scrap material from some other, better "innovation" that they just cut into bits from a very long "log" All-in-all, I'd say the "Innovations" bit in the item description is a bit misleading.

90% great
Put them on round, oval lid tops. Small handles they may slide some if you do not squeeze them, when picking up. Some handles they fit great and do not slip or move. Depends on your handles. Very universal fit, an oval square opening with slot in bottom, to open more if needed to fit. Some D type handles are flattened in middle on lids, and these squarish oval designs fit good on them too. One star off only because of some sliding fits. No doubt you will find lids they fit at home !

Thought I would like these - and I do.
Simple things these rubber covers - yet I love them because hot side handles and hot lids are a big thing when I'm cooking and have lost my pot holders in the mess I just created or when I can't seem to find my pot holders even when they are in plain sight. These covers are not flimsy and you just slide them on - they stay put and you just leave them on and forget them - just wash the pots and lids by hand like normal. The only thing wrong with these covers - for me- is that they are too big or my pot handles and lid handles are smaller than normal. I am okay with this because they still do the job - I'm just glad not to burn my hand or food. I plan on buying more of these as they come 3 to a package.

Rotates when it shouldn't
The rubber is easy to attach to a metal lid. If you lift the lid straight up, it works well. I had to lift a lid up, the tip it upside down to stop it from dripping moisture, and the rubber twisted. The lid rotated back down which sent boiling drops of water splashing. Maybe it works for some lids with more metal.

No more hot lid handles
My All-Clad pans have long handles that stay cool, but the small lid handles get hot. These rubber gadgets fit tightly over those lid handles (and small side handles on stock pots) and allow you to handle them without potholders. While you can take the covers off for use on other lids, it's better to have several and just leave them on all the time. They happily travel through the dishwasher still attached to the handle and don't have to be removed at all. I found myself using the same two lids all the time because they had these cool touch handle covers on them, but finally decided what I really needed to do was get more. I had to do some searching, but finally found them. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Great idea but not the best fit.
They have a tendency to roll around on the handle of the lid. Once you're aware of it they work okay.

Great little device
Our new set of stainless (never buy toxic coated cookware!) pots and pans don't have cool-touch lid handles like our old coated set, so when I automatically reach to lift a lid, it's too hot to hold. This is exactly what I've been looking for to keep me from dropping a hot lid! Even tough they seem just a bit too small, I have gotten used to using them and my hubs agrees. For the price, you can't beat these things. Worth the purchase.
