Cheap but effective

This tap handle was less expensive than a few others I looked at, and I needed it to install a TimeSert into an engine block with no room for a drill. The knurled bolts do not tighten down well by hand--I simply tweaked them a little with pliers and they stayed put while I was using a drill, a countersink, a tap, and the TimeSert installation tool. No complaints--it got the job done and didn't cost me a lot.

this tap wrench is ok and will get the job done. I did 2 things to modify mine to make it better. 1. I took a square file and made the notch just a tad bigger. 2. I cut screwdriver slots in the screws with my dremel tool to get a better grip on the tap.

works great for my needs

first time tapping aluminum and didnt wan't to get a whole set for what might be my only time. Pretty easy to use, I just put this on the table and stuck the tap in and tighten. It did loosen up on me so I just got used to giving the knobs a quick turn every time I reset my hands to turn it

Worked fine - good value for the price

This item worked fine, and was great valuye for the price - the only thing I'd say is that the two screws can tend to loosen pretty easily, so you have to keep them tight.

Simple and Solid Design

..used this once, and I like it; but I agree with others, that the thumb-screws could be upgraded with lock-washers and hex-bolts. Other than that, this is a great product.

Metal muy suave, es un producto inservible

Tengo muchos productos de irwin todos de u a excelente calidad pero este es pésimo el material es muy suave ni para usarlo en un machuelo de 1/4 en acero, si solo piensas hacer cuerdas de 1/8 en aluminio puede que sirva de lo contrario es basura

Just ok.

To get a 1/2" tap in it would be stretching it. Hard to tighten bolts to secure the tap.
