Curls and Straightens Perfectly

I bought this iron for curling purposes, and boy does it deliver. The curls last 2 or more days. I used it today to straighten my hair, and it took no time at all and looks great. My hair is a few inches below my shoulders and silver (naturally, not from treating it to make it look that way). I used the lowest temperature (390) and have not needed to venture above that. My only complaint is that the iron does not sit on the counter easily. There are two tiny nubs that are supposed to function as a stand. I wrestle with the iron each time I put it down. If you have a mat or a non-melting surface, this is not a big concern. The iron itself is a very good product, but a little more thought could have been spent on the stand.

Works great! Just be careful

I was so upset when my expensive hair straightener finally died and didn’t feel like spending a fortune to replace it. so I figured I’d give this one a try after seeing a bunch of good reviews.Im definitely happy I did cause it works great! I have very thick hair that is coarse ,kinky and frizzy. this hair straightener makes my hair nice and smooth and does so quickly . I will say it gets very hot I think it’s even hotter than my last hair straightener. so you definitely need to use a ton of heat protection also try it on the lower settings before putting it all the way up . I use spray leave in protection as well as a leave in cream that has heat protection and frizz control I have not noticed any heat damage on my hair . My only major con with this product is the button placement. once in a while I have clicked the up or down heat setting on it by accident because it is placed in an area where your palm can hit it especially if you’re trying to curl your hair with the hair straightener other than that and it’s really the only reason why I didn’t give it the full stars . I’ve really enjoyed it so far.

Watch your heat

I saw many reviews from other black women(I'm also black) who said it damaged their hair, so I was very anxious to buy. I washed my hair with shear moisturizer. When rensing out the conditioner I left some in the hair. I applied chi hair protector serum and the dark and lovely blow out heat protector before blow drying. I started on medium warm heat, when I got it as straight as possible, I finished with a hight heat and would put the hair strand on cool right after. I applied olaplex #3, both chi, and dark and lovely protector on the hair again after the blow dry. When I went to straighten I only used heat setting of 320. After, I applied some more olaplex and wrapped my hair in a circle then into a bonnet(repeated bonned wrap every night). I never straightened two days in a row. And in a week I passed the straightener only 3x or less in big chuncks on 320. Four times I used the setting on 350 and no problems. My hair was kept damage free and bone straight in mid-west humidity for TWO MONTHS. No issues. I highly recommend. Btw I am a all natural curly hair women. Never dyed or anything to my hair and its 4a for refrence.

Horrible

The barrel has no tension so it doesn't stay closed on the hair. You can't touch the barrel to help hold it closed either because the outside gets incredibly hot. Even when I've been able to get a good grip on the hair the curl (I use it to get an irregular, choppy curl) is wimpy. I tried to use it to just straighten my hair and the lack of grip on the hair makes this the most useless item I have bought in a long time. Save your money. This is a lemon

Incredible value for the price!

Great hair straightener! I like the digital readout so you can see the temperature. Gets hit quickly and cools down quickly. The platinum plates means that my hair slides through evenly and smoothly without snagging. I have fairly fine hair (but a lot of it) and I find that a quick pass on the lowest heat setting is enough to straighten it or curl it! Great tool and better than the straightener I got for $150

Great for fine hair - no snagging

I bought this straightener after researching what the highest rated ones were in 2019. I’ve been using it for a few days & I love it. It doesn’t grab or snag my hair like previous straighteners did. I’ve been using it on the lowest setting.

One pass does the job

Love this product. I use it for my weaves and it gets straight in one pass! Only con is I feel like the coating is going to wear away soon. Other than that I love it! It also is very light weight ( the material kinda feels cheap) Can wait time use on my type 4 hair.

Crimped and fried look

I returned this item. I'm no expert, having bought this to replace old Babyliss Pro. This flat iron wasn't a patch on the old Babyliss I've had for years. Using the same temperature it done very little to my curly hair. If you like a "crimped and fried look" then this is for you! I used the same temperature (355) as my Babyliss, I ened up having to cut my new fried ends. I have used a flat iron for close to 20 years so Im not new to this. So so disappointed.
