Sling
At 3 am one morning, I tripped over my computer bag in the dark and fell. I knew I had dislocated my shoulder because I felt it go. I didn't realize I also broke my arm. I reset my shoulder and apparently my arm at the same time. I sat there wondering what to do. I wasn't dressed and couldn't move my arm. Even leaning to get up hurt. Amazingly, I went back to sleep that night. The next day I realized I needed a bra with a front closure and a sling to keep my arm immobilized. I orderd both on line. This sling was great. Not only did it help immobilize my arm, it made it obvious to people not to jostle me. The only problem with it was that it really isn't ambidextrous. The thumb loop is really set up for a right arm injury and it was awkward on the left. But it was a life saver to have the sling!

Nice looking and comfortable (albeit scratchy) - until the buckle falls off
When I broke my shoulder, I bought this sling as a back-up after a couple of weeks, so I could wash the one they gave me in the emergency room. The good: It looks nice, especially for the price, and it feels quite comfortable (i.e., it supports my arm well, and the well-designed shoulder pad also adds to the comfort. The bad: It falls apart! Yikes. As one of the other reviewers pointed out, it falls apart without notice, which makes the arm drop. But that's not the worst! The buckle itself came off too (the part that's on the top strap)! And fell to the floor. At one point, it rolled under the bed. Yikes! Considering that for the first two or three weeks after the accident,I could not bend low enough to pick stuff up off the floor, this is a terrible design flaw! Fortunately, I didn't get this sling until later, and then I wasn't wearing it too much because I wanted it to remain nice-looking for times when I needed a more "polished" look (oh, and because it was scratchy!), so I didn't suffer too much. But still... But after a few days of wearing it, the buckle fell off more and more quickly/frequently (plus I had to adjust the strap repeatedly while wearing it). At one point, I couldn't find it anymore (for several days), so I had to wear the old one for a formal business event. That's bad!!! In addition, you need two hands to put the buckle back on and reassemble the whole adjustable buckle assembly, and depending on the nature of the injury, this could be real problem. Not something I could have done easily during the early days after my injury. So a big shout-out to the manufacturer - please fix the design of the buckle so it won't come apart. Why not use a velcro strip to make the strap adjustable (like my other sling does). Advice for potential buyers - if you can pick things off the floor and reassemble the closure repeatedly (or have someone around who does it for you), this could be a good choice. After all, it's cheap, and looks good. If you can't, you may want to look elsewhere. About my "grade" - While this sling looks nice and is comfortable WHEN it works and when it is worn with a top that has long sleeves, the fact that its functionality is severely compromised by the repeatedly failing buckle that then also falls off altogether, I can't give it more than 2 stars.

Good for the price, made in the USA
I bought this for a dislocated shoulder and i found an immobilizer works best in my case, however, now I have a sling for when i need it. The sling is made of lightweight denim and I found it to be well worth the price. Unlike some, I found it very easy to unhook the shoulder strap to put it on or take it off. another plus is that it is one of the few products still made in the USA.

ok product
This item is a sling, its pretty simple. Seems durable but wasn't comfortable for me so I didn't use it often when I had a hairline fracture on my radius. It did it's job of holding my arm in the position it's designed for. 4 stars because it wasn't comfortable to me but seems to be of decent quality. Nothing fancy about it.

Maybe my sling was defective?
I'm not a fan of this sling. There are 2 big issues with it - first, the sling itself is a really, really rough material that you really can't wear with a short sleeve shirt, and the other is the strap, which no matter what I did, wouldn't lock. I ended up going to the drugstore and buying some crappy five dollar POS sling that actually worked much better.

Not What I Expected
For the price, it was an okay purchase. Very cheaply made, strap falls apart easily, which can be painful if your arm just falls unexpectedly. On another note, it looks nice, it has a better look than the ones you buy at big stores. Personally I wish I would have paid a little more for a stronger model cause it hurts pretty bad when the strap comes undone.
