Simple to install

I had an old 4 station controller so it was very simple to install this controller. I suggest you take a picture of your existing controller before installing this one. It takes about 15 minutes with most of the time spent on removing the old one!

Good, basic 4-zone controller

I bought this to replace the same model that got fried by lightning. Installation was simple. The only thing I don't like about it is that to run the system manually, you can only run one zone at a time. There isn't a way to manually run all zones in succession. In other words, you run Zone 1, wait for it to finish and then go back to the unit and start Zone 2, wait for it to finish and then go back to the unit and run Zone 3, etc. In my old house there was a "manual - all stations" capability, where you would kick it off and it would run through the entire cycle, all zones, without further handling.

Easy to install

I'm not an electrician nor am I a do-it-yourself person. A thunderstorm knocked out the previous water controller and I did internet searches on how to fix it. It looked easy so I bought this controller. It actually was easy to install!! It worked the first time I powered it on, too. What a relief.

Prompt delivery and relatively easy to install.

Replaced irrigation control with relative ease. Took about 20 minutes to switch out the old one. Comes with battery and power supply.

Question longevity

Hope it lives as long as the one it replaced, although the original power supply failed in less than two years, I am technically inclined so I replaced it with one from my junk collection

X-core 4 station, 3 programs each 4 start times, is what i needed in water restricted Roseville Ca.

I live in a city that has imposed strict irrigation of lawns. My grass slopes to the street and with spray sprinkler heads the water quickly ran into the gutter and down the street..At suggestion of city employee I decreased my water time on each station but added more start times in the day with this Hunter X-core. I also changed out all of the spray heads on the grass to Hunter Rotor nozzles which save water too even with longer run times. Happy with what i have bought and installed..

Would not hold program

Tried all summer to program this unit with 4 simple start times twice a week. The program would start at midnight and run through a series of 4 zones. However, on the 4th zone, it would just keep running without stopping. Unfortunately, the only way to stop it was to actually shut down the system, which would only happen if I was up at that time and heard the system running. Unfortunately, this problem caused extensively high water charges this summer.

Easy installation and setup

Arrived ahead of schedule. I replaced a 23 year old Hunter controller that no longer worked. Easy to swap out the units and get my sprinkler system working again.
