Quieter than the low profile model

Before trying this fan I installed the same style, Anslee, but the low-profile model, 59270. Once installed the fan had a significant mechanical hum. I called Hunter and was told it was probably a bad light kit wiring harness, and they sent a "parts fan" so I could switch it out. That didn't make any difference. I returned the fan and installed this model instead, since I had installed the same model in another house and it was quiet. This fan is definitely quieter than the 59270 but still has a very slight mechanical hum. I am hyper sensitive to noise but think this will be minimal enough so as not to be bothersome. I've had good luck with Hunter fans and this is the first time I've had problems with noise...hope it's not a trend. Installation of the light kit is a pain because you have to attach the screws through a whole bunch of wiring crammed into a box. One thing that is annoying on these fans (I've now installed 5 and sent back 3) is that only one of the two chain pulls is pulled all the way through the holes in the light kit housing with a little stopper on the end so it won't retract back into the housing. The other chain, which controls the fan motor, comes inside the housing --you have to thread it out -- I used a wire wrapped around it -- and attach the chain extension BEFORE you install the fan. Why wouldn't Hunter put both chains through the holes to the outside and then put the plugs on both??

Nice Fan, not easily installed

This is a beautiful fan that operates well. Installation is straightforward and the instructions are good. The most difficult part is mounting the light kit (I ordered and installed two of these fans) and installing the second light kit was every bit as difficult as the first. Mainly, it's necessary to insert 3 very small screws through a tangle of wires and connectors in order to properly secure the light kit. Another suggestion; pre-purchase LED bulbs unless you want the provided fluorescent bulbs.

Nice looking quiet fan

The fan looks very nice in the room we purchased it for. It is very quiet which is good as it is in a bedroom. It would have been nice to have more than 2 speeds, but we can live with only 2.. The pull chains were extremely short. And my husband had a difficult time installing this fan. He has installed several and he stated this one was by far the most difficult.

DIYable

Not much negative to say. I guess if I had a complaint, it would be about the dome. My wife was playing with a beach ball with our son and she bounced it and it hit the the heavy metal part of the chain. It kicked up and hit the dome and broke the glass. It's a bit thin if you ask me. Other than that, great fan and easy to install. I did it myself.

Nice looking

Love the fan. Very quiet. Installing the fan was a project. It was very difficult to install compared to other fans my husband has installed. Missing screws. Had to use some from our old fan.

Best ceiling fan ever!

Now that we've been through a massive heat wave with temps in the 100s, the fan has had a real work out, operating continuously for 14 straight days. It proved to be the best ceiling fan I have ever had. Super quiet - on the lowest setting that is virtually no sound at all from the motor, and at higher settings what you hear mainly is the swish of air. We purchased three of them when we were renovating, and when one was lost in transit, the company sent a replacement overnight, no questions asked. Really terrific customer service. The fans are well-designed, and attractive, an unbeatable value for the price.

Difficult at best

The media could not be loaded. Yhos fan is nice looking. However, it is bear to put together. I've installed several fans, and this was the worst. After a few hours, it was ready to try. The light worked; when I pulled the chain to turn on the fan, it worked. It was a little noisy. When I tried to turn the fan down, the lights dimmed. When I pulled the chain again to the lowest fan setting, the lights started blinking rapidly off and on. With the fan off, lights returned to normal operation. I don't have the energy to try and troubleshoot it. The thought of breaking it down to return is painful. But it's not useful in its current state. ????

Fairly fine fan.

Installed a month ago and I'm satisfied with this ceiling fan. The illustratiated installation instructions are very clear. All screws, bolts and bits are divided into labeled bags. I had the good fortune of having a suitable pre-installed ceiling box. This is a heavy fan and needs proper support. Will your arms get tired attaching the blades? Probably. Will you drop some parts and grumble a lot climbing up and down a ladder? ... I did. In Nov 2020 my fan came with two warm tone CFL bulbs. With the frosted dome these lights were too dim for illuminating my office. Switched the stock bulbs for higher output LED bulbs and am now content with the light output. The fan is suspended on a ball & socket system like a hip joint. This means when you pull the cords the whole fixture will tilt. This is a bit alarming the first few times if you're used to a totally fixed ceiling fan.

Quiet

We installed this fan in our bedroom. The fan is very quiet and it's very cooling. The light could be brighter, but it's challenging to find a brighter light in a ceiling fan.

Really good quality products

Really surprise by the quality. Well built and well balanced. The noise level is really low The only weird thing you most remove the light globe to reverse the fan !!
