QUIET AND LOOKS GOOD

I’ve installed about a dozen ceiling fans over the years so I’ve become familiar with the pros and cons of fans. For a $200 price range fan: 1.The motor is quiet 2.It looks good 3.Puts out good breeze especially with 6 blades 4.Remote is nice and soft touch buttons no ‘clickiness’ 5.Might be a pro/con depending on what you prefer but the fact that it has actual LED light bulbs that you screw in and not integrated LED chips for light is good because you can get whatever lumens and temperature (eg. daylight 5000K bulbs) light bulbs you want because often times the integrated LED lights are only 3000K which is very dim and that ‘old school’ yellowish color. 5. The fan remembers what the settings were when you turn it off and turn it back on again which is good if you use the fan for the primary light in a room you can hit the wall switch and if only the light was on then only the light will come on especially if you are only going to be in the room for a short time and need only some light to see. For a $200 price range fan: 1.The mounting bracket is flimsy and flexes. You can literally bend it between your thumb and index finger. 2.The ‘ball’ that sits in the mounting bracket is made of some type of non metal material. I’d just rather have it be metal. Idk if this is specific to Hunter Fans but that same ‘ball’ is actually made like a three lobed globe and the mounting bracket “socket” that it fits in is also made in that shape. Don’t like it. I’d rather the traditional “ball and socket” joint with the notch that the ball slides in to help stop wobbling. Because it’s not notched the fan does have more likeliness to wobble in my opinion. The unique lobed shape of the ball is supposed to hinder wobbling but I think a good old notch design is superior. My fan does wobble on the second speed. Yes they do give a balancing kit. 3.The light kit screws and washers/spacers was an issue for me. The screws aren’t threaded all the way so if the spacer isn’t thick enough the screws don’t tighten all the way down to firmly attach the light kit to the fan. I used my own fully threaded screws and no spacers. Things to note: It is a threaded downrod. There is no J slot in the canopy cover it’s two screw holes so the canopy cover must line up perfectly to screw it in. The canopy cover is also pretty sizable/roomy I think. Functional but may not be your aesthetic.

Clean look

pros - clean look. - produced balanced light. - great for uneven ceiling, thanks to the downrod. - downrod length is perfect for standard ceiling height (not too long). - uses common bulb form factor, unlike others that uses hard to find bulb types. cons - needs some time to install. - has a lot of wires to connect. - wireless switch receiver is bigger compared to other receivers in the market. - product description says 1 bulb but actual product has 2 bulbs (which is better, but needs to update the description).
