As others have stated, this thing is fantastic! I had limited expectations and have been completely thrilled since getting my Hugo Elite only 10 days ago. It wasn't love at first sight, but in less than 24 hours I was very smitten. I was not feeling all that well on the day I chose to get Hugo out of the box and put him together. And was more than a little intimidated as the pieces came out of the box and I looked at the instructions. I'm usually pretty good at putting things together and while it didn't appear that daunting, I thought the instructions were less than helpful. Actually the most difficult part was depressing the 8 push-pins that must be depressed when attaching the legs. My arthritic hands are painful and a fair amount of strength is required to depress the push-pins. I was trying to think of a tool that would accomplish for me, but managed to finally get the legs on properly. From there it was a cinch. Just insert the handle-bars, tighten each little bolt screw and voila! But to my dismay, the seat was too high, and not just a little bit....so with no help from the instructions....I realized what needed to be done. The legs needed to be removed (UGH!), and then the extensions tubes, and then I got to put the legs back on again! My poor fingers! And my manicure was ruined even though I have very strong thick nails, but those push-pins are devils! Sore fingers the next couple of days. There must be an easier way to do that. The little plastic rings that must be snapped into place after inserting the push-pins were not that easy either. I would think for a man, these are simple tasks, but maybe not if as arthritic as my hands. Afterward, the seat was perfect and I took Hugo for a spin around the house.....I couldn't believe how wonderfully he handled. Turns on a dime, moves easily on the carpet, fits in the smallest places....the seat is comfortable, brakes are easy to engage. I could walk so fast!! And so much easier than with the cane, expending much less energy. I felt I was falling in love. Could it be??? THE ONE??? A man I could finally live with? So as not to make any rash decisions, I decided to wait a while before forming a decision. I practiced folding and unfolding and lifting to put in the car. This was more difficult than I'd hoped, but each time got a little easier and now I feel it's not really an issue. I initially thought I probably wouldn't be able to do it myself, but I can. It is heavier than I imagined 18lbs to be and slightly awkward at first when folding and unfolding, but a little practice took care of it. The walker is so sturdy, I feel very safe. You do have to have presence of mind, be careful to lock the brakes before sitting or leaning - common sense, but can be overlooked if not paying close attention. Also, be attentive to details when unfolding, depress the hinges and make certain the lock is engaged before moving forward. I love putting my food, trash bag or whatever on the seat and strolling to where ever...I'm using Hugo for many more things than I realized I'd be able to do. I purchased a Zac Designs Gallery Non-skid Tray, (13 by 10 1/2 inch) from Amazon to sit on the seat to transport food/coffee, etc. Just the right size and works beautifully. I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm in love with Hugo! He's the perfect companion, really. This was quite a find. I wish I had known sooner what a difference this little thing could make in my life. He goes anywhere without complaint. Rolls easily on carpet or gravel, grass. I bought the little doo-hicky that attaches to the side of the walker to carry my cane, but I never touch the cane any more. The under seat compartment is the perfect size for my purse and more. The other handy compartments are great, one on the side carries my water bottle, the bag on the backrest, is perfect for my iPad, papers, any number of things. The best thing is the how it has elevated my self-confidence and feeling of safety. You just can't place a monetary value on that. Hugo has made me feel happy and like I've gotten some of my life back. Yahoo! I only gave it four stars at this point, because I've only had it for 10 days. We haven't been out and about all that much yet, so I may adjust to a five after a bit. I felt the instructions could have been much better. There was no mention of seat adjustment that I could see in the instructions. The attachments to make the seat higher for a taller person were already installed on the legs and though I saw them and thought that was their purpose, I chose to follow the instructions. It would have been so simple to remove those before I put the legs on the first time, and therefore I would not have had to disassemble and reassemble the most difficult part of the putting Hugo together. Also, I would rather choose the language I wish to use and have a complete version of the instructions in that language rather than all five languages on a ginormous piece of paper and having to skim through all of them for each step to move on the next step. The photos were useless for me. It really was rather simple and the instructions made it difficult and frustrating. For the money, I don't think you will find anything that will be so helpful in so many different ways. I have MS and one leg doesn't work quite right anymore, plus I'm plagued with really overwhelming MS fatigue. Using Hugo is almost effortless and the ability to sit any time I feel the need on a nice secure, sturdy seat is worth way more than the $119.00 I paid for Hugo. Someone should have told me about this a long long time ago. I probably wouldn't have believed it could make that much difference, though.
