Nice Rolling Walker
*** PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH *** This is the fifth rolling walker I have purchased over 20-years. Each time there have been subtle changes to the stability of the rollerator but also to some conveniences I really liked & wish they had kept (SEE BELOW). That said, this is an AWESOME walker!! Used daily inside & out; on buses, subways & autos; to shopping, restaurants and everywhere in between. Strong & very well made. Stable when used for even the tallest or heaviest individuals. It rolls easily while still giving support. It has two (2) hand brakes for more control while walking, sudden stopping, or slowing while navigating an incline. Handle bars adjust for an individual's height. Included is a comfortable seat should there be a need to rest or while waiting without having to stand. The seat can also serve as a place for a shopping tote while shopping, for a plate or food tray, or place purchases & boxes too large for the under seat storage area. Unlike some similar products, this one includes two (2) storage areas - under the seat & a removable handlebar bag. It also has a cushioned back rest bar for support while utilizing the fold down seat. First, the UPGRADES: * Brake cable system appears better. * Wheels seem a bit wider for better stability * Has a red pull out pin on one side to enable folding for additional safety ** * Each wheel stem has an additional snap on safety pin should the single stem pin fail Changes DELETED: * The two longer wheels (when folded down) no longer have a pull pin to allow folding inward of the wheels cutting down on the length of folded walker to fit into smaller car trunks * Deleted the velvo "pocket" under the fold down seat for securing smaller items such as an ID or small wallet - even with walker folded * Deleted both side zippered pockets inside the storage area under the seat which secured (even when folded) small tools, keys, lube for wheels, or other items that now fall out of the storage area if the walker is folded * Deleted the wheel height adjustment. Now the wheel stems have only one hole for attachment to the frame which eliminated a second adjustable height option setting. So for taller individuals, the seat may be too low for some individuals to comfortably get up from or even unable to use the seat at all. Things that STILL NEED IMPROVEMENT: ** Folding handle mechanism is NOT easy to use for shorter individuals. There used to be a short strap at the bottom of the storage area under the seat which you pulled up to fold walker. NOW there is a VERY LONG strap attached to the outside of the storage area, making it difficult for shorter people to pull all the way up (over head almost) to close. Need to go back to a shorter pull up strap. ** The red pin release needs to be pulled as you lift up on the long strap. This requires using one hand to pull out the pin, while simultaneously using the other hand to lift the strap up to close. This takes a stable walker with 4-wheels on the ground to only 2, causing the walker to roll away from you if you not strong enough to literally hold the walker upright or it immediately falls to the ground when in locks folded. ** After folding there is no way for the walker to "stand" vertically since only two wheels are now in contact with the ground making leaning it against a wall impossible without it falling. If you don't have the space to lay it down flat (horizontally) while folded, it actually takes up less space to leave it unfolded. ** The brake cables still are on the "outside" of the frame. These "loops" of cable by the hand grips (on both sides of the walker) allow them to catch on things while moving. This ultimately brakes the hand brake cables. (Every single previous walker this has happened to us. So trying to avoid this happening this time around, I installed velcro straps to the cable & handlebars eliminating the cable from sticking out to catch on anything). ** Stress importance of correct hand grip height. When adjusted correctly, the top of hand grip should be lined up with individual's knuckle bump on wrist. If set too low, it causes an individual to walk hunched over. If set too high, it eliminates support needed if a person loses their balance. ** Need to be able to adjust seat height. Either bring back the wheel stem height adjustments or add an adjustment option to the frame itself for the option to raise the seat to a comfortable height for both individuals who are taller or for those to need it higher than normal to assist them to move from sitting to standing. ** Add zipper closure to handlebar bags outer pocket. Currently, the large center pocket is secured only with two snaps allowing smaller items to fall out of the bag when walker is folded or moved in or out of the trunk. Since both under seat storage area zipper pockets were removed, the handle bar bag could be used instead if more secure. I have only used the handlebar bag large outer pocket to carry a cable lock should the need arise to secure the walker temporarily elsewhere (dining out, theater, stadiums, etc. if it would block a fire lane) to keep it from "disappearing". After moving any under the seat items to the removable bag, I unattach it & carry it with me.

I'm in LOVE with Hugo!!
As others have stated, this thing is fantastic! I had limited expectations and have been completely thrilled since getting my Hugo Elite only 10 days ago. It wasn't love at first sight, but in less than 24 hours I was very smitten. I was not feeling all that well on the day I chose to get Hugo out of the box and put him together. And was more than a little intimidated as the pieces came out of the box and I looked at the instructions. I'm usually pretty good at putting things together and while it didn't appear that daunting, I thought the instructions were less than helpful. Actually the most difficult part was depressing the 8 push-pins that must be depressed when attaching the legs. My arthritic hands are painful and a fair amount of strength is required to depress the push-pins. I was trying to think of a tool that would accomplish for me, but managed to finally get the legs on properly. From there it was a cinch. Just insert the handle-bars, tighten each little bolt screw and voila! But to my dismay, the seat was too high, and not just a little bit....so with no help from the instructions....I realized what needed to be done. The legs needed to be removed (UGH!), and then the extensions tubes, and then I got to put the legs back on again! My poor fingers! And my manicure was ruined even though I have very strong thick nails, but those push-pins are devils! Sore fingers the next couple of days. There must be an easier way to do that. The little plastic rings that must be snapped into place after inserting the push-pins were not that easy either. I would think for a man, these are simple tasks, but maybe not if as arthritic as my hands. Afterward, the seat was perfect and I took Hugo for a spin around the house.....I couldn't believe how wonderfully he handled. Turns on a dime, moves easily on the carpet, fits in the smallest places....the seat is comfortable, brakes are easy to engage. I could walk so fast!! And so much easier than with the cane, expending much less energy. I felt I was falling in love. Could it be??? THE ONE??? A man I could finally live with? So as not to make any rash decisions, I decided to wait a while before forming a decision. I practiced folding and unfolding and lifting to put in the car. This was more difficult than I'd hoped, but each time got a little easier and now I feel it's not really an issue. I initially thought I probably wouldn't be able to do it myself, but I can. It is heavier than I imagined 18lbs to be and slightly awkward at first when folding and unfolding, but a little practice took care of it. The walker is so sturdy, I feel very safe. You do have to have presence of mind, be careful to lock the brakes before sitting or leaning - common sense, but can be overlooked if not paying close attention. Also, be attentive to details when unfolding, depress the hinges and make certain the lock is engaged before moving forward. I love putting my food, trash bag or whatever on the seat and strolling to where ever...I'm using Hugo for many more things than I realized I'd be able to do. I purchased a Zac Designs Gallery Non-skid Tray, (13 by 10 1/2 inch) from Amazon to sit on the seat to transport food/coffee, etc. Just the right size and works beautifully. I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm in love with Hugo! He's the perfect companion, really. This was quite a find. I wish I had known sooner what a difference this little thing could make in my life. He goes anywhere without complaint. Rolls easily on carpet or gravel, grass. I bought the little doo-hicky that attaches to the side of the walker to carry my cane, but I never touch the cane any more. The under seat compartment is the perfect size for my purse and more. The other handy compartments are great, one on the side carries my water bottle, the bag on the backrest, is perfect for my iPad, papers, any number of things. The best thing is the how it has elevated my self-confidence and feeling of safety. You just can't place a monetary value on that. Hugo has made me feel happy and like I've gotten some of my life back. Yahoo! I only gave it four stars at this point, because I've only had it for 10 days. We haven't been out and about all that much yet, so I may adjust to a five after a bit. I felt the instructions could have been much better. There was no mention of seat adjustment that I could see in the instructions. The attachments to make the seat higher for a taller person were already installed on the legs and though I saw them and thought that was their purpose, I chose to follow the instructions. It would have been so simple to remove those before I put the legs on the first time, and therefore I would not have had to disassemble and reassemble the most difficult part of the putting Hugo together. Also, I would rather choose the language I wish to use and have a complete version of the instructions in that language rather than all five languages on a ginormous piece of paper and having to skim through all of them for each step to move on the next step. The photos were useless for me. It really was rather simple and the instructions made it difficult and frustrating. For the money, I don't think you will find anything that will be so helpful in so many different ways. I have MS and one leg doesn't work quite right anymore, plus I'm plagued with really overwhelming MS fatigue. Using Hugo is almost effortless and the ability to sit any time I feel the need on a nice secure, sturdy seat is worth way more than the $119.00 I paid for Hugo. Someone should have told me about this a long long time ago. I probably wouldn't have believed it could make that much difference, though.

A very useful addition
I read some of the scathing reviews on here but decided to take a chance and buy this item. The setup directions could be improved but the item itself is marvelous. I'm very happy with it. Delivery was prompt and setup was relatively easy. A disabled person would need assistance assembling it but I used the illustration to guide me. This item keeps me stable and safe from falling and is a good addition for that reason.

Good product but
The rollator is very good. It is well made it folds up okay but the handles stick out. If you have a small car may have to put in back seat. I do like it just you have to work with its design.

Great walker
This is the third one we purchased for my father. He uses it so much the tires wore down. It is reliable and steady. The larger wheels help. He is able to sit on it comfortably and the brakes work great. It's easy to maneuver and turns nicely.

Mom needed a better walker with storage
Time to upgrade from mom's old worn walker. This unit is more adjustable and includes a couple places for storage which she did not have. Also appears just more sturdy and stable for a heavy person as she is

Very useful and reliable
I use oxygen 24/7 and find carrying my 2 or 4 hour unit over my shoulder is painful to neck ,shoulder and low back. With my Hugo I can attach my oxygen unit and push my unit pain free and have a place to sit, too.

My dad loves it.
As an engineer, I gave it a good once over and I would have returned it if there were any issues. At all. They were none. The CCAC rep slagged it, but, then again, they make money on the walkers they supply. You can buy more expensive walkers. You can buy used walkers. You can buy this one. I had no issues buying an expensive or used walker, but this got enough good reviews that I figured what the hell, I can always return it. Does it fold up to the size of a briefcase? No. But it does fold up enough to fit in the trunk. Anyway, my dad likes it and, more importantly, uses it.

Good But with Caveats
Pros: Can be assembled in about 15 minutes without tools; sturdy construction; good value for money paid ($168) but see trade-offs in "Cons" below. Cons: Cannot be assembled by a person with coordination difficulties and minimal strength. Assistance will be required; Also, the walker doesn't fold as easily as other walkers: it requires lifting the seat and pulling up on a fabric handle while simultaneously pulling the chassis together inward, and the hinges are very stiff. Other walkers are a one-handed lift and auto-fold procedure requiring little effort. If you aren't putting it into the trunk of a car, then this fault won't bother you. But if you are, look elsewhere.

Well Made
This is a well made, and well designed product. This goes together very quickly, easily and precisely. Its very easy to adjust for height, and the larger wheels allow this to traverse raised curbs and other anomalies easily. The seat is comfortable, and the storage under the seat is both spacious and strong. This is a well made product.

Life with OA just got easier.
Oh my gosh, I love my new walker. Walking with a cane is hard on my back & all joints because I'm not walking straight. With the walker, my posture is much better, making longer treks so much easier (and faster). Love the compartment under the seat where I can stash my purse & water bottle. The seat is comfy too. If you have mobility issues, this walker may help you as well. Reasonably priced.

makes shopping a dream
I bought this for my mom who was finding it harder to walk around and she is enjoying it. At first she thought it was a sign that she was getting old, had to let her know that it wasn't, that I actually wanted one myself for mobility issues years ago. Now that she's using it that the weather is getting warmer, she's loving it. She is able to walk further without getting out of breathe, she is able to enjoy herself and the container under the seat makes it easier to control how much she spends. ha ha ha. it would be nice to find a wire basket or something for up front other than that, it's a great Walker for her and she loves it the price was a steal compared to what's available in stores around here. and it's durable. easy to adjust the height with the handles or the wheels. or both. I love this item.
