I ordered these leggings because I thought the "ponte" material would be similar or identical to the "ponte" material of other Hue leggings I've ordered, such as the Hue Leopard Ponte 7/8 Leggings; however, not all "ponte" is created equal. The "ponte" of these leggings is noticeably thinner in weight and does not have the same generous stretch of the Hue Leopard Ponte 7/8 Leggings. I have been comparing "ponte" pants and leggings from various brands (Hue, Chico's, Soft Surroundings, etc.); my conclusion is that the best "ponte" is composed of mostly rayon, with some nylon, and spandex. Compare the Hue Leopard Ponte 7/8 Leggings--84% rayon, 13% nylon, 3% spandex--to the Hue Reversible Ponte Leggings--57% polyester, 38% rayon, 5% spandex. The best ponte leggings/pants I have discovered from other brands also follow a similar percentage of material composition: for example, 68% rayon, 28% nylon, 4% spandex (Soft Surroundings); 76% rayon, 21% nylon, 3% spandex; 69% rayon, 27% nylon, and 4% spandex (Chico's) (although there are exceptions; for instance, the Hue Sequin Front Ponte Legging--75% polyester, 20% rayon, 5% spandex--compares favorably in quality/fit to the higher percentage rayon ponte). Not only does the material composition affect the fabric quality (the exceptional comfort combined with the figure smoothing/shaping of the heavier weight ponte), but also the sizing: with the higher percentage rayon ponte, I have found that I sometimes have to order down one size to accommodate for the generous stretch. These particular Hue leggings are just fine--still the good quality you expect from Hue, the beautiful pattern and the extra advantage of the reversibility--but I would not consider them true "ponte" material, which is one of the main reasons why I purchased them (I will keep these leggings, but order up a size). Hope this helps if you need to distinguish between "real" ponte and fabrics that are labeled "ponte" but don't have the same quality/characteristics.
