Fits standard light bulb socket, but a bit shallow

My goal was to plug two unused standard light bulb sockets on a strand of bistro lights. All things considered, these did the trick. Minus one star for being a bit too shallow to fill the socket. This also made them just a little tricky to line up and install.

I finally used a 3/4 rod with double sided tape to screw these closures into outdoor light sockets that I'm not currently using. They do the trick.

I am not sure why folks have a problem fitting these plugs into a standard light socket. They worked perfectly for me.

Works to cap outdoor light bulb sockets

I bought these to cap standard-size lightbulb sockets for my outdoor string lights. I had a section of them that I didn't want lightbulbs on, and this was the only solution I could find. It took me about 6 months of waiting for these to come back in stock after I ordered, but I'm glad I have them to protect the string lights from rain (and electrical shorts).

Doent fit a standard lightbulb socket

It doesn’t fit I had to cover it around with double sided tape then electric tape to make it fit, is 1/16 small all around ???? Such a hassle to return

Threads fit E26 (US standard light bulb) sockets.

Considering that they are not made for use in light bulb sockets at all, I have been very pleased with these. They're a passable stop-gap for a problem without a proper solution. The plugs aren't tall enough to fill the depth of an E26 socket entirely, but they do just fine at keeping debris from accumulating inside - and it would be very difficult for anyone to shock themselves on a hot bulb socket with one of these installed. Take care not to thread the plugs into the socket beyond their upper face; the diameter of the rim on each plug's face is wider than the socket and may cause both to deform if you screw it in too far. Given that they fit a bit on the snug side, I expect that these would also fit E27 sockets without issue.
