Worth every penny

Nice lock easy to install. Great for that walk in closet that your want to keep protected.

Lasted 2 years, customer support won't call you back

This product worked fine and lasted for 2 years before the latch internals bent and stopped working. I opened up the latch and tried to bend parts back, but I could see how the metal had been rubbing and wearing away over the 2 years of little bit of use. I have this on my pole barn, so not used very often. I reached out to customer service, using the number in the manual, but even when calling back just moments after they "open", you'd directed to leave a message due to high call volume. No one calls you back. I called Honeywell support and was given the 3rd party support number and transferred to the same call queue. I was hoping to purchase just the latch part that failed, but there is no part numbers in the manual, online, or on their website, so since support won't call me back, I've ordered a new lock by a different brand. I would not recommend this lock since it seems to be built with cheap parts that will fail prematurely.

Very nice, basic lock that works well

Installation was easy. I see a lot of reviews here that indicate it was hard to install, but I found it easy even with a warehouse unit that was disorganized in the package. The handles go on easily and the basic process is the same as a normal handle with the minor addition of a wire and some batteries. The one big annoyance was programming the thing. You can have tons of codes but they are a headache to set up so I can't see anyone using more than one. The instructions are pretty clear, but the sequence of buttons and beeps and lights can be irritating to sit through and even one mistake makes it that much worse. Once done, it works well and the unlock mechanism is quick. One minor annoyance is that the numbers are laid out in an unusual manner than puts some in different positions than you might expect. Might be good to prevent over the shoulder snoops, but it was annoying at first even though I got used to it after a few uses. The keypad's keys are nice and the backlight is helpful. One thing I really liked is that the lock doesn't unlock when you open the door. So, I can open my door from inside the garage and walk out and close it behind me and the door is still locked. I am sure that this is a specific feature whose name I just don't know since I am not a locksmith or lock enthusiast, but I like it after coming from a a basic locking handle that unlocked when opened from the inside, requiring that you remember to relock it when walking out.

Decent lock

Great looking lock and handle. Loved it but after 1 week, the buttons no longer make any noise when u press them. I really liked that it gave a report when u pressed a button. Replaced batteries and still doesn't work. So that's disappointing it lasted 1 week.

Good lock but has some issues.

Good lock, works fine but there are 2 things I really don't like in the design: 1. If there is a deadlock above the lock you have to take the deadlock out to install this lock or when replacing the battery due to the lack of clearance. 2. The auto-relock feature should only apply when the keypad is used for unlocking, when the lock is manually unlocked from the inside it should remain unlocked until manually locked again. Otherwise works as intended, happy with it.

Product works fine but programming takes more key entries than comparable brands

Overall, lock appears quite robust and operates reliably. I did not like two features, however. The first annoying feature is when the latch button is turned to the "locked" position immediately after re-entry. The motor mechanism will operate in redundant fashion, wasting battery power and causing additional wear on moving parts. This is not the case with other comparably priced brands like Forge, Gatehouse and Garrison - all of which I have used. The second annoying feature is the unnecessary programming key entries needed to add a user code. Again, this might be a useful feature when switching to a new master code from default factory setting (where to make sure you have it set as desired you have to key it in twice) but is unnecessary for user codes where you can easily delete erroneous codes. This need for confirmation by re-entering codes is not found in other brands I have installed.

Garbage

I took a chance and bought this even after reading the poor reviews as I thought “Honeywell normally makes a decent product”. I was wrong. The reviews are correct, this lock is garbage and Honeywell should be ashamed. What I really regret is my wife threw out all the packaging and I can’t return it. The lock simply does not work, well that’s not entirely accurate, it works once in a while but no rhyme or reason… Do not be fooled like I was, do not buy this piece of crap.

Faulty lock

The lock looks good but our broke before the 6 month mark. Customer service is extremely slow (email-only replies usually take at least a week) but decided to refund me. Unfortunately, it has been 4 months and 8 or 9 emails from me and still no cheque.

Poor quality control

I had to return this as there was a manufacturer problem that made it so the interior handled could not be reversed. No problem with the exterior side.
