Comes with plastic connectors

Great, comes with the little connector peices if you are wondering. See pic.... As far as the quality of the Champ tail including this replacement, not so great....this is my 5th or 6th set. I break it every year and I like flying Champ so I have to buy and replace.

New tail wing, it works

It's a new tail wing, and it works. The only downside is that you have to be careful in re-assembling the plane. I didn't put glue on the plastic tab that held the upright to the wing, and on one of my rough landings, it started to tear again. I also modded it a bit by adding some 3x5 card stock to the tail, to better hold it in. This is Styrofoam, so of course it's going to break every once in a while. But better these cheap repairs than learning on an expensive plane. Love the plane, and the easy repairs.

Champ parts (cheap but fragile)

It's cheap. It will break again. But it's cheap enough you can buy a few and keep the brutal cycle going. My Hobbyzone Champ has broken 2 tail assembly's. The first was my fault, the second was from flying wear and tear (creases will appear after many flights). It's made from REALLY cheap and thin styrofoam. This saves weight and cost but, again, it's pretty fragile. I actually broke one trying to install it. But that's half my fault on not being careful enough installing. I feel like this part should cost maybe $2. But somebody's gotta make some money, right?

Tail feathers...

Well, if you own a Champ, you will likely go through one or two sets of these. The tail sets are one of the weakest links, but they are easy to swap out. There are no instructions, but the assembly is plenty easy to figure out. A little double sided tape and/or some foam safe glue is all you will need to get back in the air. My only complaint is that the color doesn't match. Its more of a darker orange. However, it matches the replacement wing....ask me how I know. Ha!

Ok, but...

It's nice that hobbyzone provides these replacement parts... while they're outrageously overpriced (in my opinion), it's still worth it. I'd definitely recommend to buy several of these at a time to save on shipping later down the road, especially if you fly and crash often, like me. I've been using hot glue for attaching this tail to the fuselage. It seems to hold pretty well and despite what some people have told me, doesn't weigh enough to set the plane of balance. Reinforcing with clear scotch tape seems to help a lot, too. The Styrofoam is really thin so it can snap easily during hard landings, this helps. The good: Fits the champ perfectly, comes with connectors for pull/pushrods (little plastic attachments) The bad: Overpriced, not very durable

nice to have parts tail hinge needs to be stronger

I bought my 10 yr old the Hobby Zone Champ knowing it would have hard use and many crashes. As some reviews note, the tail is a weak point. So I got a spare. I LOVE that Hobby Zone provides economical easily available spare parts. Still I wish they could make the vertical stabilizer hinge a bit stronger. When all systems work my 10 yr old just BEAMS so its worth it.

Champ Tail Replacement

This replacement is exact specs to original and fits right on the body of the airplane with no problems,easy to install and comes with all parts needed for a complete job. If you fly the champ plane,it is a good idea to have some spare parts around, the tail is very thin and probably the easiest to be damaged on impact. At the same time I ordered 2 of these ,I also ordered a replacement wing and it is ready to go if needed.

If you have a hobbyzone champ you need this tail. Not hard to install, just takes a bit of time. Works great once installed.

Don't do this. Buy a new plane instead. It will never fly again as before and this plane -despite very funny at the beginning- falls apart very quickly.
