Exactly what I expected

This is a "slicker", received what I ordered. Snaps and zipper work great. Hood fits as I expected and the pockets are large. I wear medium shirts and ordered a large to fit over extra layers.

With Covid, we got "stuck" in Costa Rica for five months, I heard the rain was going to be a challenge in Costa Rica and we knew it was going to be hot. It was incredible how Helly-Hansen Men's Moss Helly Hansen Hooded Waterproof Jacket Windproof Raincoat kept me dry when I had them on during the tropical rains during the rainy season. I lived in this raincoat anytime I had to go out in the rain. Maybe… yet doubtful

I grew up by the sea wearing Helly Hansen, which has a legendary reputation for toughness. That said… I’m not quite convinced about this Moss rain jacket. Here’s why: I can see its made well, yet the material is fairly thin. The snaps are tight (this is excellent) but the material they are attached to seems like its going to rip if I’m not extra careful un-snapping them. You can bring in the waist a bit with the usual elastic tie and clip, yet it then bunches up on the rear which looks odd and isnt ideal. Not altogether sure this one will last too long. It does feel well made, its the material of the jacket itself that is the prime cause for concern here. I usually wear an XL but got a L size instead and it fits perfectly. I’ll see how it goes, and will update this review later.

Super simple buy-it-for-life jacket.

Bought the yellow version at sale price, used heavily over UK winter, best jacket I've ever owned - it's just so simple, literally a 'proof' jacket. Nothing is gunna get past the fabric. (going either way). It's great for wearing with layers in a breeze as it keeps the heat in, and does really well in showers. It doesn't have a super high collar for snuggling down into, while the lack of rainskirt, complete lack of breathability, and inability to pack down tiny the (PU is bulky) means this is definitely best on less arduous expeditions (though it definitely holds up very well on hikes if you know the limitations and are happy to accommodate, it's just slightly sub-optimal). When it pisses it down water will get in through the cuffs and drip into the pockets if you use them, and you'll get a wet crotch too as again no long rain hem. All those factors lead to a super simple, super cool looking jacket that will last extremely well with every day usage. No velcro to give out, no techy 'beathable' materials to slowly get less waterproof over time - just solidly built poppers and zip and some patches for if it gets nicked anywhere. You can also get multi coloured patches online if you fancy looking like a clown.

Great waterproof

This is a great waterproof jacket but note it’s a rubber material and does not breath. Kept me dry for the rain but things got ‘sweaty’.
