Attractive Motion Sensing Light

I decided to purchase this for my patio after a stranger entered my backyard one night. The light coming on can certainly startle an unsuspecting criminal. The installation wasn't hard although I did have to alter the plate in order to fit to a pancake box (flat junction box). I was able to use 60 watt equivalent dimmable LED daylight bulbs which use only 4 watts each. It gives a bright light. It's very sensitive and picks up intruders on all sides of patio including animals. Adjustments are a bit hard. The sensor knob is hard to turn. The ten minute setting sometimes stays on much longer but if a rabbit stays for half an hour, the light resets the timer each time that rabbit moves. Sometimes, you can cause it to turn off by switching the wall switch on and off very quickly and sometimes that don't work. It stays off during the day. This is an attractive, well built light fixture with a worthwhile sensor but some patience is needed to get it set right. Cover must be removed to change settings. You can also set it to stay on all time at 50% and come on bright if an intruder enters.

This one worked as it should.

I had this light at my last home. It worked great. I moved and installed a new one. It never seemed to work right. It always come on and no motion, and them start to go on and off at intervals with no motion present. called support and was sent a new one. Worked for a week and started its crap. I must say they were white in color to match the outside ceiling. I do not understand why but I purchased one more black in color and it worked perfectly as it should. I don 't have a explanation why it worked. Good luck with your first one. It is a great light.

Great product so far!

This light was easy to install and has worked flawlessly since I put it in. It is aesthetically good looking, and keeps the entry way to my home well lit. It senses motion and lites up, turns off after 5 minutes. I don’t have bugs and moths all over my entry way anymore I am beyond pleased with this light!!

It works for a car port. But the install is a oof

Installing the unit itself was fine. I reused the screw for the old fixtures install plate. Screwed the long screw flast and slid it into place while screwing the thumb nuts with the other. That's where it went south... I went to install the globe and the screw ya use for it, just sit loosely in the light housing and it was with tiny little nuts to anchor it on..... You'll need a third baby arm for this kinda deal. I should have taped it in place before mounting it to the ceiling. If I saw it before I did all the wiring and etc, I could've put a piece of tape to hold the screw in place..... Please if the manufacturer reads this..... Just glue it in place so it doesn't slide all over the place while you put nuts on.... Took me 3 times as long as installing the actual light fixture.... It'll take you like 20cents a fixture in profit..... Please Besides that it works wonderfuly

I installed this at our front entryway, replacing a very old and very basic ceiling-mounted fixture. I chose it because I wanted a fixture that would turn itself on/off automatically each night, i.e. the "Dusk to Dawn" setting. But after a few weeks, I was frustrated because "dusk to dawn" worked very inconsistently. Some nights it worked as expected, but on other nights the light wouldn't turn on at all, and still other nights it stayed on even during the daytime. I suspect that it had a bad sensor. I then emailed the manufacturer, and they replied this was not normal, and they agreed to ship me a free replacement. I then installed the replacement, and it has worked perfectly ever since. So now I'm a happy customer and would recommend it to others.

Love them

Love my lamps. They are on my front porch and comes in as soon as you enter. Can be adjusted to stay on as long as you need. The school bus stops in front of my house so I love that the neighborhood kids have some light during the winter as they wait for the bus. Look amazing against my black and blue design

The Truth About LED Bulbs...

I installed this fixture in the exterior foyer ceiling of my front porch. The translucent diffusion octagon is real glass and it's quite heavy... (The fixture base with the electronics is surprising light)... And, unfortunately, yes, my glass-octagonal diffuser was cracked when it arrived. I decided to keep it anyway. I have flaws too, so it fits right in. My install is protected and I can make it work. (BTW... People... Don't bash products with one-star reviews because you're mad about shipping damage. Shipping happens.) I used 8W Dimmable LED Candelabra Bulb 5000K, E12 Base with Frosted Glass Torpedo Candle Bulbs. They worked well for me. When you first turn it on, it will flicker (wildly)... It goes through a 90-second calibration cycle. Don't freak. (Like I did.) So... Let's talk FLICKERING... YES. IT WILL FLICKER DURING THE CALIBRATION CYCLE. AND, YES... IT WILL FLICKER if you run many types of LED bulbs *IF* YOU DISABLE THE DUAL BRITE FEATURE. *IF* you run dimmable LED E12 Bulbs AND you set it in Dual-Brite Mode it won't flicker. It seems that if the LED bulbs get completely cool they will flicker until they warm up a bit. (Keep in mind it was designed for incandescent bulbs.) It will also flicker wildly if you run less than 4 blubs. You will have to spend some time in the test mode to get it dialed in with the sensitivity for auto-on motion detection. I believe It works on a heat signature differential so it might behave differently in Winter and Summer and it will detect you sooner without a jacket or hat on. (The jacket and hat insulates your heat signature and makes it harder to detect you) Expect to spend some time fussing with it. I didn't have to use the blinders; at least not yet. I think the diffuser covers some of the "eye" so you'll have to reinstall it to accurately test its ability to detect which gets a bit tedious. (like this review... :-)...
