Just Right on your way to the Summit
I really like these gloves and recently ordered my third pair. OK, so the name "Summit" is not a good name. It conjures up thoughts of extra warmth that simply won't be there in otherwise extreme conditions. The gloves are medium weight at best. HOWEVER, I find this weight to be ideal for many active uses - cold weather running, X-country skiing, long walks with the dog, general outdoor work, etc. Not too hot, not too cold when you are actively engaged. I have even used these on Mt. Rainier up to 11,500 feet (i.e. not the summit) as they provided the right combination of warmth, coverage, flexibility and dexterity that was critical for a late summer/early fall ascent. I slipped a properly sized Gore-tex shell over the Ironclads to provide additional wind protection and insulation for the final leg up to 14,500 and then stowed the shells on the way down. So, these are my "Get You Close to the Summit" gloves. I would echo the sizing difficulty. The medium fits me just right even though I normally wear a large in other brands.

"Summit"... I think not
One would expect that a glove that uses the word "Summit" in the title would be at the very least, moderately warm. Guess again... I read a lot of reviews for Ironclad gloves (none for this particular style however), and hoped for the best when ordering. I have failed to find any gloves that can keep my hands warm in single-digit weather while working in the barn on a horse farm, even the "warmest" gloves out there either are far too bulky (ski gloves), removing any semblance of dexterity, or they simply are not warm enough. These gloves are not nearly as soft as they look in the picture, for one thing. The inside is so harsh on my skin, that it was raw by the time I removed them after a few hours of working. The area across the palm and first set of knuckles is too tight, but the fingers are too long, so finding a proper fit? Not likely. And when the fingers of a glove are too long, trying to do fine tasks like fastening buckles is exceedingly frustrating. These gloves are also not remotely waterproof, as I unpleasantly discovered when filling water buckets in 12 degree weather. About the only thing I liked was the velcro tab at the wrist, as opposed to the normal "flared wrist" style of gloves. But, even so, these did not keep the chill of the wind out, it just whipped through as though I was wearing those $3.99 cloth gloves one can buy at a supermarket. Additionally, even though I used these gloves for only 4-6 hours, the tip of one of the fingers was fraying by the time I got back into the house. So much for "durability"... Despite all the claims in the promotional text the manufacturer shows on the page for these, I found that not a single one of the claims was true. Perhaps someone who doesn't actually need their fingers when working, and works in weather that is above freezing (and has very long fingers and skinny hands) may find these gloves effective... but I'm still on the hunt for a decent pair of gloves.

Love these gloves!
I bought two pair about a year and a half ago, and am still on the first pair. They fit my hands perfectly, but i have long fingers and like XL gloves. I do not use them for the hard use activities like cutting firewood, but for light chores around the place. I also use them for driving, hunting, and backcountry skiing. They are not my only gloves, I have these for warmer conditions, heavy gloves and then mittens for harsher conditions. These are the most comfortable, so I wear them as much as possible. I paid $12.61 a pair and am very pleased with the gloves. My son just borrowed my second pair to go ice climbing in -5 - 15 degree weather, and said they worked great, but were not water proof.

Xxl for extra fat big hands
I really dont like iron clad gloves. I wanted wind proof (but not waterproof) lightly insulated gloves, for work. Xxl are hard to find anyway, and now I couldn't find wind proof work gloves, or insulated with good dexterity. I thought these would be the ticket, but only if they fit better than the last style of iron clad gloves I had (fingers were too tight). These are perfect length but no where near tight enough, so very little dexterity. And no insulation to speak of. I found I can wear insulated stretchy gloves under then comfortably but I still dont get dexterity that way. I know the gloves I want at least used to exist. I had a set from cabelas that I made last for 5 years. They weren't even work gloves.

Fantastic performance and value
I have had a pair of these for over five years and I have finally bought a second pair only because the first pair has a very small tear in a seam on the gauntlet where I tug them on and off. The gloves provide exceptional warmth for their bulk, I have seldom needed anything warmer even in sub-zero temperatures. They are very comfortable and the relative thinness of the glove makes for good dexterity when wearing them. You can't pick up BB's but you can pick up a roofing nail or a deck screw. I use them all the time riding my motorcycle in transitional weather and the windproof membrane works very well.

Best bang for ur buck it's worth it
I'm a food delivery driver and it's very hard to come across a lights but strong and durable and flexible glove for the snowy and wet rain. I still wear my old pair from last years Arctic winter and this glove saved my my hands most gloves u will find just are not made for working snowy and wet rain and will still last that year and the following year, and let me tell u I didn't take care of them and the still are gonna last me this years winter. Best bang for ur buck it's worth it.

Great mid weight glove
As I'm sure you the astute Iron Clad buyer is aware, this is the 2nd generation of these gloves. There is simply nothing better in the middle weight division than these units. Not for hard labor probably, but for general outdoor use and cold weather riding they are an amazing value. Not quite as soft as the first gen, but they do have a little more wear protection. Good trade-off
