Great product
To Tell you the truth I didn't think it would work well. But let me tell ya, it sure did a great job on putting these on my Texas flag . The flag didn't have the grommets so I purchased these and they still are rocking. :)

Punch and set tools included
Print for instructions on the box rather small. Using to repurpose a tarp for sand anchors, so we'll see about durability with the grommet sets.

Pretty good, but cutting tool not effective for stated material
Its great that this set is a one stop shop for a few grommets if you don't need as many as you find in a lot of the offerings on Amazon. The cutting tool is the only drawback as I used according to directions but it just made a depression rather than cut. I think it is because circular area on the tool was not thin or sharp enough to do it. It could just be a one-off on the set I got and it didn't make that big a deal to me as I had other means to get the hole made.

Worked for me!
We were able to follow the instructions and do this in about 5 minutes, even without having a hammer on hand. My beautiful flag withstood monsoon season winds all the way up on the 4th floor least week and the flag/grommets are still looking good. Would recommend this!

Uncut version of cutting tool!
I tried to use this to put a grommet on an ordinary hand towel to use when I play disc golf to clean my discs. The cutting tool was useless : - ( I put the towel on a piece of 2x4 and hit it plastic hammer from my body and fender supplies, nothing! Next I used a rubber mallet, zip. After that, I tried a ball peen hammer, nada! The next step was a claw hammer and by now I was starting to laugh : - ) I moved on up to a 22 oz. framing hammer and , after failure, I was hunting for my hand held sledge, but I didn't find it. I don't think this cutter would go through a hand towel if I had used the flat side of a splitting maul !!!!! I finally cut out the hole with a pair of suture scissors. The rest of the pieces worked just fine but King Kong couldn't cut through leather or canvass with the cutter? If I don't find my hand held sledge, I will just use the cutter to draw a circle where I want to the grommet, and cut it out with suture scissors again

Just not strong enough.
These grommets were simple enough to use, and I thought they'd be fine, but they just can't withstand much tension. So if you're intending to use them for maybe a flag or something, I could see them being an ok chooce, but don't bother if you plan on using them to keep a fabric from ripping by just reinforcing a hole or tear. Especially if there'll be some resistance pulling against the grommets.

So easy... Worked great...
I had a sun sail (for shade). When it rained, it collected a big puddle and sloping it differently was hard. I didn't want to put a quick hole in it because it would tear, etc. I put 2 grommets in and now it drains. Took me about 5 minutes...

Grommet kit
These grommets are almost certainly stainless steel. They form beautifully without splitting and retained their mirror like finish. I was delighted with the result to the extent that I declined to reduce the star rating despite the fact that the hole punch was useless. A suitable punch can be made from the handle on a Tesco back scratcher for £1!

Great for repairs, but too few grommets for larger projects
Worked well and decently priced. Using a hammer or mallet, the grommets don't always look perfect, but they seem to be properly sealed. Although I haven't tested the breaking/ripping strength of the grommets in my tarp, they haven't broken from what I've used them for so far. I do wish this kit came with more grommets; 20 is certainly plenty if you're just using the kit for repairs in the field, but if you're doing any larger diy projects, you may need more, especially since resetting used grommets isn't exactly easy (or even worth it) if you make a mistake. To this end, there are "refresher" kits for the grommets, but they seem relatively expensive for the number of grommets you get. Regardless, if you're just looking to repair a couple tarps, or set a few grommets for another project, this kit is fairly affordable and works well.
