Lasted 1 month
My cats found this puzzle more challenging than their first one, and it took them about a day or two to finally get the hang of it. The part of the puzzle where you have to turn the handle to flip open broke after 1 month of purchase and my cats never used the part where you must slide to push out the treats. It is easy to disassemble and clean. Overall, this puzzle will challenge your cats but is not durable.

Cats who like treat toys and patient pet parents
This is a great puzzle treat box for cats. It works best for cats that 1) like treats, and 2) like toys, and 3) enjoy working a bit for their treats. I have two cats; Nicodemus and Legolas. When I bought this, I knew Legolas wouldn't have any interest in it. It's not that he isn't smart enough to do the puzzles; he's never shown any interest in working for treats. If you're concerned your cat may be like that, buy an inexpensive treat toy (like the treat mouse you can fill and as the cat bats it around, treats fall out of a hole in the side of the mouse). This is the one I bought that Nicodemus enjoys: Temptations Snacky Mouse Cat Toy For Cat Treats https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OLSARPK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_B5LMCbEQXA6YV If your cat won't engage with simple treat toys, then don't bother with the Trixie Poker Box Activity! Nicodemus loves his treat mouse and quickly figured out the right way to bat it around so he could empty it within minutes. Clearly he needed something more challenging! Shortly after receiving the Trixie Poker Box Activity for Cats, I set it up, putting 4-5 treats in each cavity. Nico immediately pushed the lever to eject the treats from the tube cavity on the side, ate them, sniffed the other puzzles, then walked away. THEN I read the instructions! Please read them; they have some good ideas as to how to set up the puzzles initially to engage your kitty and make solving the puzzles a bit easier. What worked best for Nicodemus, though, was for me to leave the drawer puzzle slightly open (about 1/4") at first, so he could hook a claw over the edge of the drawer and pull it open. I did the same with the puzzle that has the sliding panel at the top. Then I got the brilliant idea to sprinkle a tiny bit of catnip into each of the puzzles along with the treats. If your cat enjoys catnip, this can help to get them more interested in engaging with the Trixie Poker Box Activity. The catnip really got Nicodemus much more excited about interacting with the box and inspired him to spend more time trying to access the treats. We've been using the Trixie Poker Box Activity for Cats every other day for about 1 1/2 weeks, and Nico has now mastered 4 of the 5 puzzles (3 with no adjustments. The one with the sliding top I still need to leave open just a smidge). The only puzzle he has difficulty with is the one with the bone-shaped lever. But I suspect he'll eventually figure that one out, too. Before you buy this - know your cat! If your cat likes other treat toys, they'll probably enjoy this quite a bit. And, be willing to work with your cat a bit and try different things if they don't immediately "get" it and walk away. Edited 3/26/19: Nicodemus is now able to access all five puzzles! It's still challenging, though, and keeps him occupied for about 10 minutes. Sometimes he'll open two or three puzzles, eat the treats, then go do something else. An hour or so later, he'll come back and work on the ones still closed. For Nicodemus, this was a great purchase!

Moxie mastered it in one day
The media could not be loaded. Forget the "training" recommended in the instructions. Moxie crushed the blue & white puzzle in one day, and she never tires of it. Last night, she pulled the lever off of one challenge, and I still haven't found it, but she mastered that one, too. I'll glue it on when I find it. Downside? She can get every treat in 60-120 seconds now, but she is a kitten. Leo, my 4-year old orange kitteh is slower learning, but probably because Moxie sees him sniffing, and she jumps all over the toy like a psycho kitty and eats every treat. Thus, Leo takes the path of least resistance; he walks away, lays down and watches her. I need to put Mox in another room and let Leo seek treats in a more leisurely, big boi way. One note, the pink/purple/gray toy is better for little cats. Leo's big paws won't fit into those little cups. Sometimes he snags treats with his claws. Sometimes he shakes the whole toy until the treat pops out and onto the floor. Sometimes he decides it's more trouble than it's worth. Problem: the pink slide lever doesn't move easily like all the other moving parts. I will try using sandpaper on the shuttle to stop it from sticking. Overall, I think the pink puzzle is easier to solve than the blue & white one. Both are a hit with my kitten, but the blue one is favored by my big guy.

Not for every cat
This came in a Cat Activity box, but the puzzle is labeled Dog Activity. A couple of the puzzles are a bit too difficult for my cats, but my male cat just loves sticking his head under the lid into one of the boxes. If I leave the other drawer-type boxes slightly open, he can access those, too. My female cat can't be bothered with puzzles!

Good challenge for your pets!
I think it's a great toy, my cat loves it. Unfortunately she's a monster and took off one of the handles for the little flip door. It's easy to get back together, but I'm epoxying it so it'll stay. Keep an eye on your pets - fortunately my cat just turned it into a toy and didn't try to eat it. Otherwise though, I'm entirely pleased with my purchase. My cat gets super excited when I fill it up now. :) Cat tax included! I also bought the round variant from these guys and it's a hit as well. :)

My cat isn't interested.
Considering how my cat loves to open cupboard doors and poke her head in everywhere it will fit, I was surprised that she didn't care about this item. It took a while before she even tried, and then she didn't care very much when she got anything open. Maybe that is because she couldn't stick her head in; she had to use a paw to scoop the nuggets out. Maybe it is because she can only eat one certain prescription food, so what she smelled in the little boxes was just the same as always, thus boring. The product seems great. It is sturdy and well made, and the opening mechanisms should be easy for any cat (provided they even try). It was well packaged and arrived on time and intact. If I had thought about it, I would have experimented with something similar and homemade before buying this, but that is not the product's fault.

Well made feeder/toy.
My cat loves to eat and is a little “fluffy”. I thought this was a way to slow her down on her snacking on dry food. I put a little in each drawer and she can open and eat as she wants. It has worked to slow her down. A small bit goes a long way. She also figured out how to open all the drawers quickly and she is an older cat.

Not good for slowing down eating but very entertaining puzzle
I've got a frightenly clever cat and it took him a while to figure out the different drawers. So I'd give it 4 stars for keeping them entertained but this is not a tool to slow down eating. Once the flap / drawer has been opened the cat will proceed with their normal eating habits - my cat ate the content of the drawers even faster because he feared that the flap would close again. For preventing wolfing down food a feeder ball or homemade toy like egg cartons work better.

Brain treat test - kitten maincoon loves it
Well she loves it, worked it out after one day left the other two bemused for a while. However who said can't teach an old cat new tricks, & the old boy watched her & as a result can do three of them now. We have a intelligent kitten & she needed something like this to quiz her brain a little. The question is when is the next harder version out as its far to easy for her, she enjoys it so much she site by it awaiting a treat refill

Clever cat continues to love this after 9 months
Two cats. One cat thinks puzzle toys are below her dignity, all puzzle toys. This one is no exception. She will occasionally sit on it to bug the other cat, but has never tried to get a treat out of anything other than my hand (or a ball treat toy on an easy setting). The other cat loves puzzle toys. We have a few and mix it up. We use this one daily a couple times a day, with one dry food kibble (which is a treat in our world) in each compartment. It is still making him happy months later. This remains his favorite and he likes the variety and choosing which compartment to open first. It's easy (and fast) for him, but very enjoyable.

Doesn't say cat on it :(
I know this is a minor detail but it's important to me . The picture on amazon and on the box says CAT ACTIVITY but the product that I received has DOG ACTIVITY written on it . That's not cool . My cat can't read (obviously) but I can and I'm the one paying for it so I would have liked for it to say CAT ACTIVITY like shown on the pictures and on the box. The product itself is nice , sturdy and easy to clean . It gives a cat or a small dog lots of activities to figure out and they like this . It is kind of expensive but if your baby likes it it's worth it .

this is great. My lazy cat doesnt get it
Depending on how lazy your cat is, this is great. My lazy cat doesnt get it, but my other cat who lives to eat (with a tendency to get into things she's not supposed to) tears it apart no problem. Good to slow down eating and keeps her mentally stimulated/ outta trouble. I use it as a feeding dish.
