Purchased 2 of these 6 years ago...

After 6 years they're still going strong! I keep one in my office and I work from home so its on basically 5 days a week ALL DAY. The other is in my living room and is used close to 7 days a week in the evenings. BOTH are still going strong. I lost one of these lamps in my divorce and I'm here to get another one!! haha They've both been such good lamps for us for years! The light is a warm light, not a daylight (or hospital light as I call it) and can get VERY bright if that's what you like/need. I noticed a few people mentioned they didn't feel they were "sturdy" and could be knocked over easily... I haven't noticed that... I have dogs but no children... but I keep the lights in the corners of the rooms near the walls, so they don't get knocked around or bumped into at all and they still provide enough light to light the entire room really well. I tend to leave them on one setting and rarely adjust the brightness, if I do it's on the living room lamp and I haven't noticed any problems. I haven't had any issues with the lights going out or the dimmer switches on either lamp going out or being finicky. Once you know how to turn them on/off and adjust the dimmer you're all set. But, as I mentioned, I don't use the dimmers often and perhaps that's an issue with more frequent use? The lamp is nearly 6 feet tall and with my friends and myself all being between about 5'4" and 5'10" the light is above our eyeline when standing and that's really nice (even though we're usually sitting in those areas), and at most gets "warm" (no where near hot) to the touch which I also like. I can leave the light on, or have the light on for hours, and then run my swifter over the top to dust it without worrying about causing damage to the lamp or duster. Overall, they've been really good lamps for us for about 6 years now with hours of daily use. I do tend to take care of my things, so they look and perform like new. If you saw them in my rooms now you would never know they were 6 years old. The light is a nice warm, comfortable light that's adjustable to fit your preferences/needs... If you're looking for a simple design in a floor lamp that has the option to adjust the brightness I really don't see how you could go wrong. I hope this is helpful :) Good luck! Stay safe!

I love this lamp!!!

I bought this to replace a halogen floor lamp that kept going out. It’s so nice. I love the touch on / off switch. It dims or brightens if held down. So cool! I would be careful assembling it as one of the other reviewers states. Be gentle when screwing the poles together. I was so thankful for that review. I was very gentle when putting it together so I wouldn’t strip the threads. Other than that I highly recommend it.

Nice bright lamp.

This lamp is bright! Very easy to assemble. The on /off brightness switch could be a little better. I really like it. I held one star back because it needs a remote. For my needs it is just about perfect.

Wonderful!!!

Great lamp!!! I owned this type of lamp for several years until it started flickering on a low setting. I was very happy to find its twin on Amazon. The assembly is very easy. You just have to assemble slow to ensure the pieces fit well. The light is warm, soft and pleasant. The only downside is that to adjust the dimmer you have to hold the button to bring the light all the way up and if you want to lower or adjust then to hold the button to bring the light all the way down. I found it annoying at first but then got used to it. Love this lamp!!

Good living room lamp ambient light - bright light

I love just about everything about this light. It is in the corner of our living room and we use it as a low light while watching TV and a brighter light when that is needed. It is not quite as bright as the previous halogen lamp we had for years (which bit the dust finally), but it is bright enough for most jobs. The main reason I gave it only 4 stars is that the switch, which is a flat button on the side, is black and makes it a little difficult to find in the dark. I think they should have made it a different color or put a white dot on it. All in all however, I do like the lamp a lot. It is very easy to assemble, no tools, takes only minutes. Thumbs up!

This led torchiere lamp approaches the brightness of my 500w halogen

I purchased several LED Torchiere lamps prior to this one. This was the brightest and the one with the most range of brightness -- and a middle of the road price point. I took off one star because the poles were mislabeled. This may sound insignificant but it is very important. In my case pole #1 and #2 were reversed. The pole that screws into the base (#1) has slightly different threading. One might be inclined to just force it into place. Then one would discover that the pole #2 would be loose and would be unable to get a secure connection. Fortunately, I did not try to force pole #1 into place and I readily reversed them and properly completed the assembly. Even with the extra work, assembly took less then ten minutes from unboxing to operational. It is obviously not as bright as my 500 watt halogen that it replaces but it consumes a mere 45 watts on high and about 1 watt on low - I measured! I am very pleased with the brightness and do not think I will miss the slight decrease in illumination -- especially at the the difference in power consumption and having the safety of LED versus halogen. The last point -- I am concerned with the longevity of the touch sensitive control. I have had my share of these type switches failing on other lamps and lights. I hope that if it fails that the company will cover under the 5 year warranty.

Excellent, but....

This lamp is very, very well made/really solid and the dome lighting is great. Love that brightness is adjustable. Two things down grade it a tad. First, I don't like that it has a really skinny neck at the top (personal preference would be same diameter all the way up). Second, the instruction sheet is not well organized and makes no mention on how to adjust the light. I had to spend several minutes pressing on and off to button before I figured it out Actually, all you need to do is press and hold the contact point (button) to change the brightness. It'll start out very slow then rapidly speed up. Once you start in a direction (e.g., increasing the light), you have to go all the way to max brightness, then re-press and hold to go down.

Beautiful and perfect Floor torch lamp

Works perfectly, as we come to expect from Globe Electric products, this floor torch style lamp is not cheap and have a simple system to operate, easy to assemble and is sturdy, this is what you want for a lamp that is led style, warm natural light and is great to fit any rooms ! Love it ! I recommend always Globe products !

Fast delivery, decent light, modern and minimalist design

The lamp arrived quickly, is a nice modern design and I like the touch on/off dimmer. The light could be brighter, the output doesn't light a room up as well as an older halogen floor lamp I have does. It is much better looking though. Could have a higher lumen output. A bit tricky to get the last piece into the threading, but otherwise easy to assemble.

Enjoying the minimalist design and its brightness adjusting. glad it doesn't use a remote as we have too many already. easy to assemble, only gripe is the stickers labeling each piece and the order of assembly are a pain to scrape off and left an adhesive residue. but that's minor. hoping they last long.

Nearly perfect [Downgraded rating]

First and foremost: this is far safer than halogen (or other incandescent light) torchieres, with their hot, fire-hazard bulbs. It puts out a warm light, suitable for living rooms; and is dimmable over a wide range -- from very bright to mood lighting. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the switch, specifically the dimmer control. It's hard to get the desired intensity level, because you can't just back up or go forward at will. Once it starts dimming, it keeps on dimming. If you overshoot your mark a bit, you have to go all the way to the lowest setting, before reversing direction. Vice-versa for brightening. Revision: September, 2020 I've downgraded my previous rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, because of the dimmer switch. After 18 months of use, I've come to really dislike the dimmer switch. It's more frustrating than even my previous paragraph indicates. Also, recently it's begun to turn itself on, at random times (another reviewer mentions this too). Surely, they could have used a reliable, easily-reversible dimmer switch. It's a shame -- the lamp is great otherwise.

Looks good in our dark basement room EDIT: Alexa enabled!

Very good value for the money. Assembled in less than 5 minutes. The bottom of the base is rubberized so it shouldn't move around when the cats run by it. At 3000+ lumens it's brighter than a 200 watt light and it lights up our very dark 20x14 basement room with a soft warm white glow that you can read by anywhere in the room. The ONLY thing I would change is they should include a remote control. EDIT: I decided to try plugging this lamp into a Smart plug to see if it would power on when the plug was turned on and it works! So now I can turn the light on and off using voice commands with Alexa. I used a Kasa smart plug but I think any smart plug should work. The dimmer function still requires manual operation but if all you need is a way to turn it on remotely, the smart plug solution does work.
