Best wirefree! Compared 3 brands, 6 different models

I compared three different brands of sports bras and six different models. (I feel like a Wirecutter writer, lol.) The details are below. The factors that were important to me as size G/H were: -strap softness and width, and placement of widest point -number of hooks (impacts bouncing) -breathability of fabric -modesty (downward dog) in physical coverage and in opacity -shaping Notes: I wanted a bra that could breathe but I refuse to have any bounce. Price was not an issue for me but I've included the details below. Weight of breasts should be mainly carried by band around ribcage, not by the shoulders. When new, the closest loop to the hook should fit you so that as you use the bra and the band stretches, you move the hooks toward the farthest loop (closer to the other shoulder blade). Review of shaping is personal preference based on my standard underwire minimizer shaping and breathability (uniboob = more trapped sweat). Conclusion: Chantelle and Panache are not recommended for exercising at all and not recommended for large-breasted women for any use. Glamorise Wirefree are great daily bras and great sports bras but require at least a thin top over them (if you care about that stuff). Glamorise wonderwire is my top pick for sports bra and it is standalone, doesn't require a top. Chantelle High Impact Sports in Black B00NGIA8WI -only three hooks (not good for large cup sizes) -material is way too thick, like a wetsuit (would be very hot during exercise) -opaque -even the extra modesty material is thick -good shaping -straps aren't wide enough, not soft enough, and have no stretch -band size one size larger than expected -nearly double the price of Glamorise -wouldn't recommend for exercising Panache Sports Underwire in White B005X5GGLY -only three hooks (not good for large cup sizes) -material is way too thick, like a wetsuit (would be very hot during exercise) -opaque -even the extra modesty material is thick -good shaping -straps are wider than Chantelle but a little scratchy and have a little stretch (widest point at top of shoulder) -band size one size larger than expected -nearly double the price of Glamorise -wouldn't recommend for exercising Glamorise Elite Performance Wonderwire in Black Print B071KGJ4L9 -five hooks (great for large cup sizes) -thinner material than Panache and Chantelle with second layer of adjustable mesh (far better for releasing sweat while exercising, while definitely still opaque) -thin sides but not mesh like the Wirefree -thin mesh modesty panel (releases sweat while not exposing cleavage) -modesty panel has four adjustable settings; can adjust easily even while wearing -straps are wider than Chantelle and Panache; the widest point is in the front where it meets the cup (instead of at the top of the shoulder like Panache), not as stretchy as Panache -band size one size larger than expected -nearly half the price of Chantelle and Panache -Top pick for large-breasted women for exercising with or without a top Glamorise Elite Performance Wonderwire in Coral B07XD5VPP6 -same as black print, still opaque -Top pick for large-breasted women for exercising with or without a top Glamorise Elite Performance Wirefree in White B07XF8L4ML -five hooks (great for large cup sizes) -thinner material than Panache and Chantelle (far better for releasing sweat while exercising) -thin mesh modesty panel (releases sweat while not exposing cleavage) -thin mesh sides -slightest bit see-through; I wouldn't wear this as a standalone but under a thin tank is perfect -not the most ideal shaping but I usually wear a minimizer with strict shaping so that's my standard -straps are wider than Chantelle and Panache; the widest point is in the front where it meets the cup (instead of at the top of the shoulder like Panache), not as stretchy as Panache -comfortable enough to be a daily bra -band size one size larger than expected -nearly half the price of Chantelle and Panache -Top pick for large-breasted women for exercising with a top Glamorise Elite Performance Wirefree in Black B072N8VZGX -same as white, still the slightest bit see-through; I wouldn't wear this as a standalone but under a thin tank is perfect -Top pick for large-breasted women for exercising with a top *UPDATE AFTER 8 Months: the Glamorise wire and wirefree bras cannot be worn for the entire day. The band isn’t padded enough and starts to dig into the skin but for an exercise session of a couple of hours, still works well. If you size up, you won’t get the support you need because the weight is supposed to be mainly around your rib has.

Good fit

Great plus size bra. Very supportive even though it’s not thick fabric. Not a compression bra, but is a good sports bra. Waiting to see how it holds up…

Band in back very wide but smaller around than others of same brand. Comfortable enough otherwise.

LOVE

I honestly tried this on the "try before you buy" expecting to not like it and return it. I was pleasantly surprised how supportive it is while also being so breathable and flexible. I don't feel restricted in it and at the same time I can finally run comfortably again with its support!

Very short tight straps.

The cup size is perfect, but the band is small, so I added an extender I already had. Also, the straps are so short, even at their longest and they really dig into my shoulders.

Oh-em-gee!

In all my 35 years of life of being heavy chested have I ever found a bra that fits me perfectly until now! It is a sports bra with regular bra support! The cups fit amazingly! I definitely have to buy 2 more! This is my new everyday bra! My go to! If you’re on the fence- extra heavy chested and need support but with the feel of a sports bra- this is for you! I have Xl breasts but a smaller body so finding a good bra has always been hard! Only thing I found to be a little (and I mean little) issue is the material is a little rough/scratchy. But I am confident after a wash and fabric softener will fix it. 10/10 recommend!!

Great high impact bra

I purchased this bra because I'm into high impact aerobics, running and walking. Once I put it on I was happy with the level of comfort and support I felt immediately. The back is a hook and eye component. The cups are not padded extra but are constructed with stitching to hold in the girls. The straps are adjustable but not removable. Overall a great purchase.

Comfort and worth every penny

Size 36D fits well however aground the Breast areas there’s more space than I’d like. Overall took me months to buy this bra and I’m able to work out, run and do other chores with it. Superior material and very comfortable around the body No bulges or peaks when wearing this bra it’s was with every penny

Great support for bigger bust ladies

I had a shock absorber sports bra for many years that I absolutely loved mainly because now adays shops sell 'spprts bras' but they infact do nothing to support your breasts, especially if your of a bigger bust like myself. Wear and tear on my most favourite bra meant I was on the hunt for a new one. Although pricey I am very happy with this sports bra the material is of good quality, it is very comfortable, multiple clasps on the back for security, it fits well and MOST importantly it stops my ladies giving me black eyes when I play netball!
