Love Truspec gear

Had to buy this to replace my old ecwcs coat. My GF liked it so much she wouldn't give it back till I bought her one. The fleece is a good weight for cool to intermediate weather. When coupled with the outer coat it makes a great heavy winter jacket.

Really Outstanding Fleece Jacket

I spent a lot of time finding a replacement for my Columbia fleece sweater, but I could not find a color I liked. Ordered this TruSpec jacket and it is outstanding in all respects. Being an Army grunt veteran, I liked the coyote brown, and it is true to what is shown on the Amazon site. I ordered size large-regular, as I measure 44" around the chest, and about 45 around the stomach. Excellent fit, with just enough extra room for comfort. I was not sure about pockets, and I was glad to find that they are there, though the placement is fight along the seam running down from the underarm--would be more convenient if the pocket openings were farther forward. The product description did not mention it, but there is an elastic drawcord around the lower hem, just like Columbia--useful to keep out wind. There are plastic locks on the cord, and the locks are in the pockets. I can see where some buyers might not know the cord and locks are present. Zipper pocket inside is convenient for cellphone. I also like the satin lining of the jacket, which makes on-and-off so much easier than Columbia when wearing long sleeve flannel or wool shirts. Is it warm? You betcha! Does it pile like my cat's long hair" Not one bit! After the 2021-2022 winter, have had no pilling at all. Totally pleased and am ordering another to have for when this one wears out.

This jacket is better than most polar fleece jackets!!

I love the nylon lined upper body and sleeves!! It makes putting this on with any kind of shirt under it a snap!!! Other fleece sleeves want to bind up and be difficult to put on & take off. It is very warm and the neck zips all the way up to create a very warm neck! It's a great jacket from a quality maker!!

Comfortable and light

Decently warm, comfortable, and lightweight. Seems well-made. We'll have to see how well it holds up to daily wear & sun exposure. Another comment or two indicated that the sleeves are a little shorter than typical for the size. That's good information and worked in my favor. The cord locks for cinching up the waist are neatly hidden inside the side pockets, which is a nice touch. The cuffs are just a bit of elastic that tends to pleat the fleece fabric. That looks a little less neat, but it is functional. As others have observed, the side pockets are positioned much further back than on most jackets. It works okay, but could be better. On the other hand, the side pockets are huge.

Serves the purpose as a liner but that’s it…

Got it for a liner to the H2O Proof Jacket. Fits and does the job but that’s it. Very basic and wouldn’t wear it by itself.

That D@mned Button!!

Tongue-in-cheek but truly an issue that brings down an otherwise good product. I have two of the full parka/liner combo jackets. I was looking for a different color/size to mix-n-match. It appears they used different buttons on the back?/neck which prevents it from staying snapped and supporting that area when combined with the torso. It's a small matter (pun/no pun) but it contributes to overall quality of the item. Otherwise it is fine/warm/tactical/ect.

Warm but runs small

It's a nice warm jacket, but be aware, it runs small. I'm 5'11" (180 cm), 160 lb (73 kg) and I wear M, all my fleece jackets are M and fit perfectly, this M has short sleeves, so I had to exchange it for M Long which is a good fit for me.

No Good Don't Bother

I bought this because it is supposed to be the liner for the Tru-Spec ECWCS Gen 2 Parka (which is good parka). It does not actually fit properly with the parka, it does not really add any warmth because it is very thin and for some reason lined with nylon, which completely defeats the purpose. There is a metal snap in the back of the neck which is remarkably stupid because metal gets cold and this snap does not line-up with any attachment to the parka. I guess this is Tru-Spec's abysmal failure at reproducing the ECWCS level 3 fleece, which I recommend instead of this garbage. Parka good, liner abysmal, go get a proper level 3 fleece instead.
