Warm and Easy To Wear

Very easy to wear, lightweight but warm enough for 30-degree weather. I bought a few different jackets for a winter trip, I always grabbed this one because of how much I loved it.

Best jacket I ever purchased

This is an outstanding jacket! I live in Buffalo, NY where it starts getting cold in October. This jacket is lightweight but warm and very well made. Has a soft, fleecy area inside neckline. Extended sleeves with hand warmers/thumb holes (tho they are not detachable you can choose not to use them and just tuck them inside the sleeve. The jacket is also water and wind resistant. The best feature of this jacket hands down is the thermo tech lining which is this silvery, heat-radiation fabric that radiates your own body heat back to you. I read so many reviews before purchasing this and many who purchased this come from climates like mine. So I will be able to wear this jacket in early fall thru early winter; perhaps the entire winter. When it gets between 10-20 degrees I may need to wear a different jacket or just layer underneath this one more. I ordered two colors in this-the black and the bluegrass. I need to make note that the 'bluegrass' color is not as blue as the picture; more of an emerald green (not turquoise which has more blue in it), but that was what I had wanted. This color is stunning! Fabric is not shiny but has an attractive lite sheen to it. Also, I ordered these in two sizes-a Small and a Medium since I read many reviews and some said this fits true to size and some said slightly small. My measurements lined up with the size small (I am a size 4, 34B bustline and 26.5 inch waist and tiny hips) . However, this item is built to be tailored fit and for one light layer underneath. So I tried each of the sizes on with a midweight sweater since that is what I would be wearing most of the time. The size medium actually fit better and looked better. It gave me more mobility and freedom of movement in the arms and back and still looked semi fitted and not bulky or sloppy. I walk a lot at the park and the mobility factor is necessary. Their is hardly a difference between the size S and M so I would say depending on what you plan on wearing most of the time underneath the jacket is how you should order your size. I haven't had a chance to use in cold weather yet but I know its going to be toasty warm! This is one jacket that has all the right details and at a fantastic price. Great alternative to those puffer jackets that make you look huge in them but just as warm as down. I am very happy with this purchase.

Wife Likes It

I've had a Columbia Omni Heat jacket for several years and love the jacket. I don't know if there is a warmer jacket with so little bulk and flexibility. Robust zippers, waist draw string and the cuffs are soft and seal off the sleeves. It can go in a shell, too. Bought the wife one and she is always cold. She loves her OmniHeat jacket too.

Perfect for me

At this point in my life I am my own furnace (thanks to menopause) and my old coat is just to heavy. I needed a coat that wouldn't take me from freezing to overheating in 15 seconds or less and this coat seems to fit that bill nicely. I ordered the XL based on the size chart and it fits perfectly. Very happy with the sleeve length, I usually have to deal with sleeves that are a bit shorter than I would like. Also love the extra fabric with the thumb openings at the end of the sleeve. No more wind blasting up my arms! I usually order coats with hoods as I don't like hats but for this coat I will make an exception. It looks good on and the neck (when zipped up) is actually tall enough to cover my chin. I'm so glad I decided to order this coat. *After I posted this I looked at the coat listing and discovered it has doubled in price. I paid a little over $50 for mine.

Great Jacket for Hiking in Cold Weather

I received the jacket this afternoon. I have previously owned a similar Columbia jacket and was very happy with it, so that is why I purchased another one. The jacket is a beautiful color, lightweight, comfortable, and has the features I like: Omni-Heat, pockets, and thumb holes in the sleeves to keep out snow. I didn't know if I would like the high collar, but it came in handy today. I wore this jacket on a 4-mile hike in -10 degrees. My neck stayed warm. My shoulders remained cool, but not uncomfortable. There was no wind and no precipitation, so I can't speak to the jacket's ability to block wind or resist water at this time. My previous jacket did a great job under both of those conditions, though.

Great jacket but tight around hips

Love this jacket but it was tight in the hips and tell me. Too tight and I have to get a larger size than I normally wear in a Columbia jacket. Sadly it is going back and I’ll try to get the next size up. One more thing – I wish it had double zippers

Muy linda y calientita, el acabado es distinto a la Foto. Es más bien mate. Me gustó mucho aunque la tuve que devolver porque me equivoqué de talla, viene amplia para Mexico. Pidan una talla menos
