Best waterproof raincoat ever

The jacket fits a little loosely so you can wear a layer underneath. It definitely keeps you dry and also warm. Would definitely recommend. We have bought two of these and love them both.

2nd time I bought

I am a women, 5’10’’ and weigh 155 lbs. I bought this jacket 12 years ago and loved it so I ordered it again. Came and is exactly the same quality and fit . I am very satisfied. Enough room to wear sweaters when it is cold, that is why I ordered the mens. Sleeves are nice and long

It’s a very highly quality outer shell along with a comfortable inner liner. The fit is fine with room to move.

Serves its purpose

The pluses: Does its job keeping the rain out. Easy to fold up and stuff in a bag -- I actually put mine in my camera bag that I was using as a day pack on a trip to Alaska so that I'd have it "just in case". Although listed as a "men's" jacket, there is no reason women can't wear it. The minuses: Since it's plasticky, it doesn't breathe at all and can get very warm -- on a cold day that may be good, on a warm day, not so much. It's also VERY noisy, every move you make you hear the crinkle of plastic. Also takes a while to dry. Hood is big, can be difficult to see on your periphery. Jacket does seem to be a bit big, can wear another jacket under it or carry your bag under it to keep it dry. Overall a good value for the price.

VERY COMFORTABLE FOR A RAIN JACKET

I AM 6'4" 255 AND THE 2XL FITS FINE WITH ROOM TO GO OVER CLOTHING LIKE SWEATSHIRTS OR ANOTHER LIGHT JACKET. SLEEVES COULD BE A TAD LONGER FOR A TALL MAN BUT ARE OK. LENGHT OF COAT IS FINE, FEELS COMFORTABLE DUE TO MESH LINING. 2 OUTSIDE POCKETS ,NONE INSIDE. ZIPPERS UP HIGH TO KEEP WIND AND WATER OUT. WILL BE FINE FOR BIKING ON THOSE COOL BREEZY DAYS. BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE A BLACK PLASTIC TYPE RAIN JACKET THAT WAS HOT AND STICKY TO WEAR IN SUMMER MONTHS. THIS JACKET DOES NOT STICK TO YOU AND BREATHS VERY WELL, PLUS LIGHT COLOR REFLECTS SUN AND INCREASES VISIBILITY OF WEARER. HOOD COVERS MY LARGE HEAD. JACKET COULD BE WORN AS A WINDBREAKER AS IT IS STYLED NICELY AND DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A RAINCOAT. AM PLEASED WITH PURCHASE AND WOULD BUY AGAIN.

Seem to be well made but length runs way long.

I ordered 2 of these in size 5X because I'm a heavy guy and also I wanted to be able to wear a jacket underneath if needed. So I expected a big garment and...boy, were these ever BIG. The length is just to long. Hand pockets were way beyond my reach. The product seems to be well made, just not proportioned correctly. I returned the 5X size for a 4X and while better, the length still runs long. If you wear a tall size this may work okay. I have not had an occasion to try them in the rain yet.

Tricky zipper

The zipper is the type that has 2 openers so that you can unzip part of the bottom of the jacket. It is virtually impossible to open to take the jacket off. Otherwise it is a near perfect product. I would never buy it again because of the zipper design.

Order a Size Down

Okay, while I don't like to review items without trying, I can't make it rain to confirm how well it works. It did though arrive in good time, albeit the mail strike here in Canada. After reading reviews, I ordered a size down that I would usually go for. I'm a large guy, and while it felt like a risk I'm always pleased with the return service. Well the suggestions to order a size smaller were correct, there's still a little space so I can wear some layers underneath, useful for this time of year. There had been mention of some shortness in the arms, yes if you stretch out you will see plenty of wrist, but you have to remember the coat is waterproof, it won't stretch like other materials. It is though a nice quality. Edit For Waterproof Review: It works great, completely waterproofed in up to heavy rain. Better in cooler climates than warmer, as I did found that if it was still warm when it rained, you tend to sweat underneath.

Large Fitting with No Inner Pocket

I am 5'10" and weigh 190 lb. and normally buy a large. This jacket definitely fits like an XL both in the body and the sleeves. Fortunately the jacket has velcro fasteners on the sleeves so I can keep them from covering part of my hand. Since the jacket is a bit large and a bit stiff it is not going to pack as small as a regular large size made of soft material. I bought the burgundy colored jacket because it was cheaper. Although it is not a dark burgundy it looks a bit dull due to the matte finish of the material. Still, I think it looks rich and I like it. I have not worn it in the rain enough to comment on how waterproof it is or isn't. I did discover that due to its large fit the wind could blow under the edge and aid the ventilation which is good for me because I sweat a lot. There is a drawstring at the bottom so you can tighten it especially when it is cold out. The jacket does not have underarm zippers. The ventilation is provided through a vent under where the top layer of the jacket overlaps the lower layer. While this jacket does have a nice lining it does not have an inner pocket which is disappointing.

Great fitting raincoat!

Having received it and tried it during 2 thunderstorms, I can confirm that this is a great raincoat that truly keeps water out, while not being too hot due to the air vents! The surface material is more akin to that of a thin shower curtain than those mesh-type raincoat, which explains why water truly runs off and can't get in. The seams are also well made, as they are not the weak point where water might infiltrate. I've always bordered between medium and large and this medium raincoat fits perfectly (sleeves not too long and the body doesn't go down too low). Reading other reviews, I feel like some concrete numbers might help others, so here goes. If I buy a vest, I usually buy size 38. If I buy a dress shirt for work, I usually pick one with a collar size 16 and sleeve of 34 or so. Medium shirts usually fit me snuggly around the chest and shoulders, while having some free space around that stomach. I'm 5'9" and weigh around 155lb with an sporty build.
