Lavabile in lavatrice. Chiusura con cerniera. Importato. 100% nylon.

The best rain and wind jacket
Marmot is such a great company in designing men and women's clothing to keep use warm and dry from the elements! Every time I wear this jacket I'm grateful to own it because it's perfect for So. Cal in the rain, wind, mountains. Each time I wear it, people ask me where I bought it and who makes it. It's great to layer over your clothes ans so easy to care for. I highly recommend this jacket!

Columbia Womens Shine Struck II vs. Marmot Essential Rain Jackets
This review is comparing the following two rain jackets Columbia Womens Shine Struck II Waterproof Rain Mid Hooded Jacket (XL, Red Camellia) on sale for about $100 vs. Marmot Essential Women's Lightweight Waterproof Rain Jacket, GORE-TEX with PACLITE Technology- in Dark Rasberry on sale for about $170. I have not tried either in the rain, but both claim to be completely waterproof, and other reviews seem to be happy with this feature . The sizing was about the same. I ordered an XL (one size up from my shirt size), and they both worked well alone or with a fleece under. Movement with arms was easy and comfy on both. Hood fit about the same on both. Both had cord to adjust /sinch the hood. Both have 2 way zipper. See photo comparing colors. Marmot: Nice color- dark rasberry is a good description. It is about 2" longer (This Marmot size XL is 34" long in length from the seam of the hood to the hem) than the Columbia which barely covers butt when I sit (it is 32" from hood seam to hem). Velcro (on pockets as well, that doesn't make putting your hand in your pocket nice). Velcro might not work after a while??? No inner pocket. Pit zips are good for venting. Flattering cut (maybe because it is longer?) Columbia: Liked the snaps rather than the velcro as I will often just snap a few rather than using the zipper. Velcro comes apart more easily when you sit, ect. About 2." shorter than the Marmot (32" long from hood seam to hem) Does not really cover my butt when I sit (I have a longer torso). I like that essentially, it has an inner pocket that is created by the linning of the regular pocket. There is aobut a 2" gap in the stitching of this inner pocket (small things could fall out, or one could easily stich this up so small things would not fall out) that could easily accomodate headphone wires. This pocket will be perfect for my cell phone and keep it nice and dry. It has back venting - might be better than the pit zips- have not tried them out, but some sort of venting is good. Even with breathable fabric, I think it could get sticky without some sort of vent. The Red Camillia color is okay. much more bright/ orangey/pink than the Dark Rasberry-Marmot. Red Camillia is very simmilar to an azalea that is blooming in my neighbors yard. See photo . Conclusion: I'm going with the Columbia. Although I liked the color of the Marmot better, and it looked better with my completion (I'm a winter), my one goal in a new raincoat was that it be a BRIGHT raincoat that will make me visable in the rain and fog of the Northwest, I'm not crazy about the Columbia color, but it fits the bill. Snaps are better than Velcro. This was a big deciding factor. I need snaps. Even though it is shorter (I like the longer Marmot, with my long torso), I think it will be fine, it is long enough and I like the inner pockets and back vents of the Columbia. I don't think I'll use the waste cord to sinch it since I'm thick around the middle, but nice feature anyway. Although the fabric (Marmot is gortex, Columbia is some other waterproof/breathable) wieghs about the same, the Columbia feels more flexable and thinner... I think. And... it is about $70 cheaper when I got these.

Pretty much the perfect rain shell
I was on the hunt for a rain shell and had several specific criteria: 1) long (if you're in the pouring rain, what good does a coat do if it only covers the too half of you? Wet butt, no thanks!). This is definitely long to cover your bootie. 2) waterproof- obviously. I haven't tried this in rain yet, but it's Gore Tex, so I'm confident this has that covered. 3) lightweight and packs up small- this is so lightweight it feels like air. It rolls up pretty small. Like one other reviewer said, I got mine at a steak by getting a used Amazon Warehouse deal on it and the tags were still attached. Definitely like new and paid a fraction of full price. I got black which wasn't my first pick but for the price I can't go wrong. I'm 150lbs and 5'6" and the medium definitely fit and looked the nicest. However if I squat down, it kinda cut me across the hips and there wasn't a whole lot of room for layering. A large didn't cut me across the hips when I squat and I could put a fleece underneath and not feel constricted in the least. It wasn't as flattering of a look, but if I'm in a downpour, I want to be dry, not a model. Plus when you're soaked I hate the feeling on having tight clothes in addition, so large is the winner. It doesn't have the look of being "too big" either if you know what I mean. It still looks nice and looks like it fits - just with a little more wiggle room. Overall I'd definitely say this fits the bill. I'm looking forward to being dry in the rain and hope this lasts for most of my life!

I love the length - but the most notable: the incredible lightness.
I love this jacket! I bought it after lots of research as it was one of the few good quality jackets with a nice long length. This is crucial when you’re hiking or doing other activities as you don’t need to worry about baring your lower back to the elements when bending over, etcetera. This is particularly important, especially for someone as tall as me (5’11”). Colour? Gorgeous. I got the blue. It’s very different in different lights, varying from ink navy in the dark to a stunning blue and deep royal blue. Size? I’m usually a size 14-16 AU or 10-12US. I tried the large in in store and while it fit, there wouldn’t have been much room for layers. So I ordered the XL. Perfect. Plenty of roominess, which I prefer. Especially plenty of room in the sleeves for movement, even in the slimmer large. This is notable to me, as I often find that if an article of clothing is going to be too small, it will be in the arms. Quality? I’ve worn goretex jackets before and so know if their quality. This jacket is no exception. The water droplets just slide right off, even in an absolute downpour. The absolute best part of the jacket - so incredibly light and packable. I seriously didn’t believe it when it arrived. It weighs nothing. My parents want to update their hiking jackets to jackets that are similarly light. It’s wonderful. The only thing I don’t like? No interior pockets. So far hasn’t been a major issue, but I did used to use them a lot in my previous jacket. So we’ll see. Oh and I’m from Australia, where Amazon does not ship to. Ugggh. Sucks. I had to use a middle man to get the jacket to me, which cost an additional $80. Overall? Buy it. It’s a worthy investment.

The fit and feel is nice. I particularly like the fact that it is ...
This is decently priced, high-quality lightweight waterproof. The fit and feel is nice. I particularly like the fact that it is long enough to cover your bum which is what you want when hiking - so many of the good-quality jackets on the market are cut short - which is useful when you are wearing a harness but not ideal the rest (i.e. most) of the time.

Disappointed
One of the arms was wet after 20 min of rain. The rest of the coat was perfect, dry as expected but the left arm was completely wet inside. Disappointed

Will only close with the zip
Nice looking coat but the velcro tabs on the front will not hold the coat closed as they are SO thin. You will have to zip it up and the fit is pretty slim. It is very cold too - no warmth in it at all. Very overpriced for what it is. And you will have to pay at least £20 to return it. Disappointing all round. Even tried to cancel the order to no avail.

High hopes, disappointed.
I was so excited when I first got this jacket. It was exactly what I wanted in terms of a waterproof shell for the west coast weather. I'll confirm that the hood is a bit small but it hasn't really bothered me. However there are two reasons for my one star review. One is that this jacket is not complete waterproof despite being gortex. It was no March for being in the rain even for 20 minutes. Second, the pocket seam has come apart so the right pocket is completely useless as anything I put in it falls right through. I've contacted Amazon who gave me a generic reply to contact Marmot which I did and haven't heard a single thing. Very disappointed with my purchase. My husband got the same jacket in a men's style and his isn't waterproof either nor has he received a response from Marmot. Would not purchase again.
