Clutch needs broken in

You have to set the clutch to its lowest setting and run the driver while holding the bit still with pliers otherwise the clutch will not allow any slip at any setting. After 15 to 20 seconds of running like this, the clutch works as operated. Was not in the directions. Had to figure this out through experimentation.

Great product

I've had this screwdriver for a couple years now and have used it a lot. Still works great after multiple uses, multiple size screws and multiple drops will buy again.

Battery comes loose frequently. Drill bit included snapped in two on first use.

I like the size, light weight, and excellent fit to my hand. It feels nicer and is easier to hold than any of my several Bosch 12 volt drivers, which are, however, more powerful.. It is excellent from an ergonomic view for light screw driving and removing. It has only modest turning power, but enough for most of my small jobs. I dislike the slovenly design and quality control of the battery retention device. The battery snaps in with what seems to be a positive hold. But in a few minutes, the battery often falls out. The reason is not clear. The tool designer uses what should be an excellent, spring loaded, battery retention latch. When the battery does stay in, it is very convenient to remove: Simply slide a plastic tab and the battery releases, motivated by a spring. This is a better idea by far than my other battery tools. Too bad the execution is not good. If you do buy one, keep in mind that you can buy additional batteries separately. First, though, you might want to see if the Genesis brand personnel can come up with a fix for the unreliable battery retention flaw.

Very nice little screw gun!

The ones we have at work are the type with non-removable batteries. This one has a removable and a charger, which is what I wanted because I use it all day. I got the gun...works great! The spare battery I ordered got delayed three times and then cancelled/refunded. Great I got a refund BUT I need a spare battery and the ONLY other one I could find...ships in "about 1 - 2 months". THAT SUCKS!

Good for small projects only, product quality is good for the price

Late delivery by Amazon and UPS, the reason for 3 stars as there was no recourse for even a refund prior to late delivery. The quality of this project is good for the price they sell it for. Strictly for small around inside your house chores or DIY projects. Max screw length it can sink is 2in. Can only use a drill bit up to a 1/4in. I really like that it uses lithium batteries and they are replaceable. Just pop out the battery and pop another one in. batteries are a good price at $10. I can use any of my screwdriver bits that I use on all my cordless drills with this screwdriver. I see no use at all for the high speed low tork speed. I will use the slower higher tork for screwdriver bits and drill bits. This is made to be used on dry wall and softer pine wood. I would not try to put screws or drill in a piece of oak wood.

Hidden gem for home diy projects

I had the same brand of drill for 4 years before the battery died. The features and ergonomics of this is not matched by big brands. I have a Bosch set for more serious work but for an average home diy project - this is a gem

Best value for the money.

I've looked at every single electric screwdriver on Amazon, and this is the best one you can find. It's the only one at it's price point that has BOTH speed adjustment and torque adjustment. This is actually the second one I've bought. When my first one finally crapped out, I went ahead and bought another.

Cordless screwdriver, looks like a Star Trek phaser, but can be fragile.

Good: I screw around with this a lot. It's light weight and has great battery life. AND it looks like a Star Trek phaser....so you can pretend to be on an away mission with it instead of just monotonously just screwing in something for the 100th time that day. Has a wee little light on it so you can see where you are screwing. The battery pops out of the base so you can recharge it. No cord like some previous models had. Bad: It can be quite fragile. I dropped mine *once* and its now busted. Motor was burnt. I see now that the price has been jacked up to $80 ... at that price it's way TOO expensive. Get a better one for an extra tenner.
