worked great! Just follow instructions
I have a North Face Gore tex jacket that is about 7 years old and recently started absorbing water I tryed washing amd heating but it became clear I needed to recoat. I followed the instructions as closely as I could to make it work with my washing machine. First, I washed and dryed the jacked per manufacturers instructions. The I put the liquid in the fabric softener tray, ran a delicate load with the lowest soil setting, warm water, and no spin. When the cycle finish I threw the soaking wet jacked straight into the dryer on medium heat for 1 hour. After the dryer finished I tested it in the sink and it beads water like they day I got it Awesome product!

Can I get a 6th star?
Wow! This stuff is great. I revived a 10 year old ski jacket and restored the DWR so well I thought I'd test it under the faucet. Water beaded right off. I turned the sleeve inside out and the fleece lining even shed the water and wasn't even damp when I felt it. Easy to use, recommended as a soak but you can also do the treatment in the washing machine like I did. 1 bottle treated 4 hardshells, 2 soft shells, a fleece (was just curious if it could be done) and 4 pair of gloves and a pair of 20 year old Outdoor research Gore-tex gaiters. The recommended treatment is 1 oz per garment. I dumped the whole bottle in tin the washing machine filled with warm water, ran a gentle cycle to agitate for about 10 minutes, let soak for another 10 minutes then agitated a bit more. Skip the rinse as you want to leave the stuff on the garment. Used the spin cycle to get rid of the water, you could wring it out by hand. Tossed the stuff in the dryer and dried them with a low heat set. You could hang your garment up to dry but I have found better luck with a quick heat set. Plus the heat revives the old DWR finish too. It's really that easy. Even the fleece beaded up water. When to use this stuff..... If you have a garment that has a DWR (durable water repellant) coating and it is wetting out or not beading up when it should, you should first do a couple of things. Wash the garment with some tech wash and then dry with a low temp heat set. Sometimes just throwing the garment in the dryer will revive the DWR. However if it is still not beading up, it's time to use some Revivex. McNett's Revivex comes in a wash-in/soak or a spray. The soak is easy to use if you are doing multiple garments at the same time. The spray is easier to use as you just spray it on and leave to air dry on a hanger. It's easier to add extra treatments in between seasons. One thing I like about Mcnett's Revivex ove other products like Nikwax is that this one product treats everything you need to waterproof. Nikwax tends to have a different product of every different kind of fabric and it gets confusing and expensive when you buy a bottle for this and a bottle for that. Nikwax works just as well but I find that McNett's Revivex is a one stop shop that works great and is slightly cheaper too. One tip when using this stuff, wear old clothing. You will waterproof that cotton shirt if you splash some Revivex on it but only in the spot you get it on the shirt. Even though it doesn't seem to change the color of the garments as it dries clear, I would suggest a spot test if you are picky about your colors. The stuff that splashed on the my cotton shirt did leave some darker spots. I have heard that you can add some stain resistant and waterproofing to ordinary cotton jeans. Haven't tried that just yet.

Pretty good to restore water repellency
I purchased this to treat a few of my rain jackets that had lost their ability to "bead" off water as they used to be able to. I purchased the recommended cleaning product along with it, to make sure I follow the process correctly. I washed the garments first per the instructions and then chose to use the "soak" cycle in my front load washing machine, rather than soaking it in the sink. That ensured the soak is a little longer than instructed, about 20 minutes. The first time around was not successful. I splashed water on the jacket after it dried and the water soaked into the fabric immediately. So, I tried again after reading the instructions a little more careful. You have to make sure of a few things. The water you use has to be warm. DO NOT rinse. Spin only and definitely use the dryer. This will not work if you don't tumble dry the garment. Which makes it a bit complicated as a lot of rain gear can't be tumble dried. I started with a VERY low setting and was able to find a warm setting that activated the chemicals to do what they needed, without damaging the jacket. But it felt a little like a gamble. The second time around the product did what it was supposed to. Now if I splash water on the jacket, it will bead off. I have not tried a real rain but it is definitely better than before. Overall 4 starts because it takes some work to get this right and I am not 100% sure that it will truly protect the garment as well as the original treatment my rain gear had.

This. Stuff. Works!
I washed my 10 year old Gortex-lined jacket with the Revivex Pro Cleaner on delicate/cold. Then soaked in the sink with this Wash in Water Repellent. DO NOT RINSE! Just toss in dryer on warm tumble. Prior to doing the clean and treatment, even the slightest rain would soak out my jacket. I walked out in the rain tonight and after 15 minutes came inside. You can clearly see the water beading on the jacket. Hasn’t done this in a VERY long time.

Not properly formulated
This really didn't work for me. The actual contents weren't in a nice smooth liquid form, like the instruction videos were. It was a very chunky liquid, with those chunks being a waxy material that I'm assuming needs to impregnate the material to provide waterproofing. Well the chunks remained chunky, the liquid mostly cloudy water, and the final effect want achieved. I tried two methods: the gentle wash using this as the fabric softener - so it soaks in with the rinse cycle, and then soaking the jacket in warm water with the wash in repellent liquid (although more chunk than liquid). Neither did what was proclaimed to do. I don't know if I just recieved a faulty batch of repellant, perhaps it froze at some point and the repellant separated from the solution (?), I can't be sure. All in all though, I spent a good chunk of time attempting to re-repellant two jackets, neither of which worked at all.

Worked Better than I Thought
I used the Water Repellent twice on a winter parka. I used it the first time using regular laundry on the delicate cycle with Water Repellent during the rinse cycle. The results were not very satisfactory. I found out that regular laundry detergent has fabric softener and fragrance that impede the Water Repellent from embedding in the fabric. I then bought the Revivex Pro Wash and went through the whole precess again. This time, the waterproofing worked perfectly. After I took the coat out of the dryer and put the sleeve under the tap of running water, the water just rolled off like, "off a duck's back." I highly recommend this product.

Exactly what my jacket needed
I used it for 1 North face softshell jaceky, 1 marmot Gore-Tex and 2 Columbia omni-shield. This product is the greatest! All jackets came out great, the Gore-Tex was by far the most water resistant and came out even better but the other 3 improved so much with just one wash. I can see the water forming pellets over the shell even in the Columbia jackets that are Not rain jackets. Will use it on other jacest I have to see how it works!

Revived my north face goretex jacket
It beads again! My jacket was very dirty. The first time I applied this, it didn’t work. I was upset and was about to return it. Then I re-read the instructions and realized I messed up the application. After re-reading and re-applying it works great. Super happy with the performance on my jackets with it.
