I bought these because I have rose hedges and blackberry patches I need to care for in my yard. I wanted the for arm protection and thorns hurt do these were a hopeful purchase. They work in some cases but you need to read and decide what you needs are. 1. If you think you are going to put these on and that they are thorn proof you are going to be disappointed. Some reviews say you can grab a throned branch worry free. Not the case. The finger tips are double buck and it does have some other double layer points but it is intended to be used by a person handling one stem at a time for precision trimming or Cutting and arranging roses. Heavy hedge or patch work they aren’t up to the task. I confirmed this because when they failed for me I gave them to my Mom who has a couple rose bushes she fussed with and she said they worked great and saved her arms. 2. The arm guards are not as sturdy as you would need for heavy work. They are synthetic leather over the canvas type material most other work glove cuffs are made of. In short, a good product if you only need the good protection while doing light work and using your head about what the limits are of the product. For the guy who wants to tear into heavy stuff stick with fencing gloves and keep looking.

Great gloves!

I actually bought these gloves, not only for rose bush pruning, but for regular weeding ever since I got poked by a stinging nettle plant--ow! These gloves are sturdy, go up to mid-arm and are fairly comfortable--they will be stiff for a while until you break them in. These do the job and protect your hands and arms from all the bitey plants out there. Very pleased!

No thorns.

I can pull thistle's by hand. Haven't been stuck by any thorns when cutting down Rose bushes and cleaning them up.

Excellent protection

I have worn many gloves in my life but these are the most comfortable, and protective until my elbow, that i am glad i bought them, just in time to clear around the near 100 pineapple plants we have aside and behind the house. Their long sharp leafs have teeth and can cut your skin with sudden and unexpected onslaught. These gloves let you penetrate deep under the plant to clear the soil of unwanted tree leafs so you can fertilize and water can penetrate it instead of staying on those foreign leafs and evaporate. The fingers are very flexible and make it easy to use snippers or hold a scoop. I'm not giving it 5 *s because the gloves are made of a thin material and get quickly wet; then need to be washed after every use or they dry into a hard shell. As for the price however, they are a welcome tool i have been without for too long.

Best ever!

I love these gloves! I bought the larger size and they fit perfectly. They go up my arm and that is great protection! I used the gloves, as soon as I got them, to tie up my roses for the season and didnt get stuck at all! Perfect 10!

One pair lasted over 100 hours of hard work, the second one broke quickly

These gloves served me well for 165 hours of rough work removing invasive plants--a full year's worth--before they developed a hole in one finger. I even washed them on a hot water cycle to remove poison ivy during that time. They aren't too hot to wear in the summer and they dry relatively quickly. Update on 10/13/2021: On a brand new pair, the fabric part of one thumb developed a hole after a few months.

Dont buy if you plan to prune roses in these gloves.

Soft grass thorns would penetrate the fabrics, not to mention roses.

Overall excellent protection

Worked very well removing some excessively large thorn weeds. I did find that the glove offered great protection however I still got pricked by the thorns twice.
