Not in US sizes

Please note that I wear a 1X US size because of my girls. That size fits me nice and comfortable. However, I read the reviews and I ordered a 3X in this costume. It was long in the arm length, tight fitting on my upper arms, would not zip up around the breast region, and was long on the floor. I had to return to Amazon. Buyer beware of sizing.

The hoop is junk and the arms are tighter than expected

The arms are tight at the biceps, but fit perfectly everywhere else. And expected better quality in the hoop than what I received.

Not an American 2X

I am a size 16/18W with a DDD bra size. I bought a size 2X because every 3X I've ever bought is enormous on me, however this dress is unacceptably small and poorly-constructed. As soon as I tried to put it on I ran into trouble. The arms are ludicrously small, tight, and unyielding. I could not even pull the arms up over my elbows, much less get the dress on. After struggling and giving myself bruises on both arms trying to pull the stiff, tight arms up I got so frustrated I used scissors to cut the arms clear off just below the poof. It was the only way I was going to get this dress on. Once they were gone I was able to get it up and have my husband zip it up, but it was incredibly tight across the chest and back. I used shape wear to shoehorn myself in but it was a close call. I ended up wearing it because I had no choice (had paid the extra money to have it arrive on time). I paired it with tall black gloves. Because the dress was so tight in the chest/shoulders/bodice my cleavage was out of control. If that's what you're going for, great, but I was uncomfortable because my breasts literally became the subject of every conversation at the Halloween party I attended. The dress itself is nice, which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, but the whole ordeal was really hard on my self-esteem. I do not recommend this dress unless you size WAY up.

Plus size - wrong material with no give

I originally purchased this for my daughter for her role as the Q of hearts. She's a plus size girl and I was excited to find a costume she liked in her size. When the product arrived the only disappointment was the quality of the Crown that is included. The dress fit perfectly. However once dress rehearsal began that's when the nightmare began. The zipper is plastic and with the movement and the fit, it just split. There is very little give in the construction so repairing was out of the question because there isn't enough material. Safety pins and sewing her into the dress had to hold her in for opening night. Because the material doesn't breath well she sweated profusely and it was necessary to wash the dress. I followed the instructions for washing. hand Wash Cycle with cold water and hung dry....the dress shrunk a few inches. Don't get me wrong, the dress is beautiful and the material and craftsmanship is probably okay for the average size person,but when constructing a plus sized version, some additional thought is needed especially for a dress that costs $150. It's not worth that. With all that went wrong...she was beautiful and the best Queen of hearts

I followed what other people said and went with a size bigger. I wanted to give this more stars because the quality is good and a little better than to be expected but you have got to play around with the top to make it wear properly. I ended up wearing an oversize belt around the mid section because it was just to big there but the sleeves fit perfectly. They were a little long but it seems appropriate I just wish it was tighter in the chest. Like most cloths ordered online you have to make it work for you. I loved it AFTER I made it work for me. I had to put on a white collard shirt under it because too much of my chest was out for the office. The picture shows her with her hands covering the middle which the checkers HORRIBLE but again I ended up covering it with a black corset and a large black belt and it turned out great. The crown is a waste of time. I bought a queens wig which came with a better crown. While the hoop skirt worked I bought a fuller one. Will it help you win a contest probably will you be completely happy with the fit I don't think so.

Loved this Queen of Hearts Costume

I got plenty of use out of this costume for halloween and wore it on five different days (various parties). The costume is great quality and is true to size, I found the arms to be a bit long and the skirt to be a bit long, but nothing a quick alternation couldn't fix. Because the sleeves and top are made out of polyester it can get really hot, so if that would be a issue for you I wouldn't recommend this costume because you might be irritated; although you could consider cutting off the sleeves after the poof. The tulle skirt with wire is just ok, it does create that full skirt look that you see in the picture for awhile. If you are at a party or in a large crowd the wire quickly looses its full circle from preasure so you have to keep reforming the wire. The best part is the costume is machine washable (just be sure to hang dry) and I can tell it will last for years to come. So overall I really loved the costume despite it's few flaws.

Nice enough to win the costume contest I was in.

This costume was great. I recommend buying it to anyone wanting a better quality costume that will look great and last. Thank you to all the previous reviewers on their input. I ordered accordingly buying 1 size larger and I was prepared to fix the wire hoop if it needed. As it turned out, the sleeves were just a hair snug where the poof of the sleeve comes together with the smooth area., no adjustments were needed. My normal size would not have worked. The hoop was also less than perfect but for $2 I purchased 12-5/16" washers and sewed them on the bottom seam with the wire. This was just enough weight to keep the wire from recoiling. Also, I am 5'5". If you do not wear at least a 3" heel, you may need to hem this. I wore a 4" platform and it was just perfect. I give this product a 4 stars only because I had to fix the hoop and the company should put their own sizing chart for this specific dress.

Disappointed

Although the dress was a good size, in fact a little big the sleeves on the dress was very tight, my arms would not go down so I had to undo the seam and insert fabric to make them bigger. When I tried on the dress the zip was broken and not able to be mended so I had to take it out and sew up the seam and put the dress on over my head ( it was easy to do as it was roomy). When I undid the hoop it had got dented in the post so it could never give the full hoop effect. When it arrived it was very creased when I ironed the dress I noticed a mark on the checked part of the skirt. All in all I paid nearly £200 for the dress andbexpress delivery, but felt for the money it was not worth it and very dissapointing

I'm gonna win 1st place!

I love it! I ordered it for a costume party this coming October and I think it'll win first place! It seems to be flawlessly made. I ordered according to the size chart and it fits perfectly. I can't speak to the service of InCharacter Costumes, since this is not the shop I ordered from. I did order it from Amazon.ca, just not this shop. For some reason the 'review this product' link comes to this one? However, the shop I did order from, NawtyFox, surpassed my expectations for price ($50 cheaper) and delivery date (arrived 10 days earlier than expected!). I'm going to try to steam a few wrinkles out since it came packaged in a garment bag inside a 22" x 19" plastic envelope, but overall, I am really pleased with this purchase.

Happy - yes and no

The dress fits as a plus dress should fit, but the sleeves on the dress are another story much to narrow and some of the lace missed being sewed in. Plus size people have arms that are plus too. Odd to me that they make the dress larger but leave the sleeves regular size. At the cost, I'm not happy that I have to go to a seamstress and try to do something about the sleeves.

Beautiful Costume

This costume is extremely well made and it is absolutely beautiful. The only issue for me is the collar...it does not stand as shown in the pic but a little bit of starch will fix that. Otherwise, it is a quality costume and is as pretty as the picture.
