This purse is beautiful and I am very pleased with it. I purchased it to match a pair of cognac colored Frye riding boots. The colors are slightly different but not really obvious. My boots are a tad bit redder so just be aware if you are looking to match this to another cognac colored Frye product. The leather is very soft and does scratch easily but marks can be buffed out. It's a nice size not too big and not too small. Overall the quality and workmanship are in line with what I expect from Frye. It seems to be in excellent condition with no obvious flaws or issues. My only complaint was that the brass Frye tag (shown in the picture) was missing from the handle but maybe that's why the purse was $100 cheaper than the Frye site? Not a big deal though. overall very pleased

Beautiful, Gorgeous Handbag!
I love this bag, which my husband gave me for Christmas. I thought that being a large bag that I'd never be able to find anything inside it, given that there aren't tons of inside pockets, and that had been my previous experience with large bags. But I was wrong! There are three internal pockets, one is zippered. The others aren't huge but do the job. It's open and much easier to find what I'm looking for, so that was a very pleasant surprise. There is a magnetic fastener at the center top and for more security, there are two snaps one either end, so you can choose how closed you need the bag. I use the key fob and find it very convenient. The straps are just the right length for shoulder wear with a puffy coat and there is nothing I don't like about this bag.The leather is distressed and beautiful and the color - I got the Cognac - is rich and warm and equally beautiful with black, navy, and brown. I would buy in another color, it's that good.

Yeah, love this! It fits my MacBook Pro plus the things I need everyday, big wallet, phone, sunglasses, readers, and still a little room for little items. Even my power cord if I need. The shoulder straps make this bag, a nice drop from your shoulder, and they sit very comfy on my usually sensitive shoulders. The bag doesn't feel that heavy to me, not like some other Frye bags. Got the Ice color, it's a nice difference from the usual warm tones. All in all, it's sleek (love the snaps on the sides, good for crowded trains where you want to be snapped up), casual but ultimately really beautiful leather that I think will be durable and long-lasting.

Wonderful!
I purchased the Frye bag and this is by far my favorite all time bag! I have several bags of other makers, and this is by far the most outstanding out of all of them! The color is wonderful and smelled great when I first got it. The purse is now been "broken" in and has a few scratches which just adds to the great look! I am able to load it up with my daily stuff and it holds it all perfectly! I have found a keeper!

A note on the color ice
I like large bags and found this so big that I considered returning it. I'm so glad I didn't because I got used to it in a heartbeat. I was a little disappointed that mine didn't have an amazing leathery smell, not that that has anything to do with the beauty of this bag. A note on the color "ice" - it' definitely lacks the silvery tones both the name and photo would suggest. It's more of a dove gray, really pretty and a less conventional neutral.

Beautiful bag! There was 2 small blemishes on the bag which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five. The leather is soft and beautiful and matches the wallet flawlessly! This is my first Frye bag and wallet purchase. I've wanted one forever and finally got exactly what I was looking for!

I really like my Melissa shoulder bag. I love the ice grey, and I normally do not like anything grey. The leather feels great. I do wish the inside pockets for your cell phone were just a little bigger and I really do wish there was a was an outside pocket for car keys and/ or possibly for your cell phone. As most women know finding the perfect bag can be difficult...

Exactly as shown. Excellent product, the leather is of very good quality. The shoulder bag is quite big, therefore good for people who enjoy roomy bags. The color is spot on. Nothing but good things to say. Definately recommend.

I love this bag
I love this bag! I debated over buying this bag versus the Frye Melissa Tote and decided on this one because I had read reviews that the tote handles were a bit shorter so harder to throw over your shoulder. I wanted a large bag that could fit my laptop and notebook, if needed but I definitely wanted one that I could sling over my shoulder. This bag has not disappointed! I love the colour (it really does go with everything) and the quality of the leather. It is a durable bag that can handle the weight of my laptop when needed. This was a big purchase for me - definitely the most I have paid for a handbag and I am so glad I did. It will last me for years and it is absolutely beautiful!

I absolutely love this bag
I absolutely love this bag. It took a while to decide what colour to to with. I ended up with the cognac and I know it's just a matter of time until I purchase it in another colour. It was lighter than I expected. It has kind of a funny smell to it but I think it's just the oils Frye uses on the leather.
