Length clarification
I was replacing existing cable, so it was unclear what the exact length was of these cables. One of my old ones was about 35' end for end, which included the plug and non-heated portion. So for clarification, a 30' cable is 30' of usable (heated) cable, with an additional 6' of unheated cord/plug/etc. The total length of the 30' cable is around 36' end for end. Same goes with the other lengths.

These work great, glad I tried them
They melt ice fast , easily overnight, saves your roof and gutters. I like melting ice away on driveway and side walks . Great product.

Unnatural use but it still did great
I used it to help melt down and cut up a monster snow pile frozen in our back yard. It did a good job keeping a path for drainage so it didn’t form an ice dam and flood our backyard.

Works like it should
I added this in a somewhat unconventional manner. I used metal duct (not duck) tape, the aluminum stuff, to secure it to the bottom of my metal gutter, looped it back and then ran it under the aluminum leaf guard, on top of the gutter mounting brackets, using cable ties to hold it in place. Then, I ran the end down the downspout and out the end by a few inches. I plug it in when the roof starts melting the snow, but the temp is still below freezing. It allows the gutter to stay open and the water to run out. NO ice dams this year !!!

Very difficult to install, results are "Meh"
Installed as directed and even called the Frost King # for help. The formula for how much cord we needed must be way off or confusing at best. We measured and calculated several times with the same results. When installing we probably had 20 feet of extra cord which was a nightmare to install around all other existing cord because they can not touch each other. The shingle clips don't work really great. Many kept slipping off. There wasn't enough of the separator clips so we bought wire and manually separated everything. Also, putting the wire down downspouts we had to remove sections of the downspout to get it to go down. We don't think attaching any kind of weight would help unless you had straight down downspouts without any s curves. And the cord is so twisty out of the box it's really hard to manage it from touching each other. All in all the install took many hours over two days and on a scale of difficulty with 10 being extremely difficult we'd give this maybe an 8 or 9. What's sad is that the wire does heat up and on lighter snows it does a decent job melting. On a heavier snow with lower temps it barely puts a dent into the snow accumulation except right on top of the wires. And when it gets like 15 degrees or below they recommend to cut it off or it can make things worse. And now I can't use my snow roof rake or I will tear out the install. Honestly, I really wish I had not installed this, but the snow and ice are on the roof and it's there for the season. Wish I could get my money back and Frost King could come and uninstall.

Perfect for the job they are designed for
These work very well keeping snow and ice from forming where you don’t want it. I know they’ve saved me a lot of money in gutter repair over the years.

Works for a verity of projects
All in all it is a decent product. I feel for the quality of materials it should have been cheaper. But we will put that on inflation. Welcome to the NEW WORLD ORDER.

Works as it should
Most of the bad reviews here seem to be from folks who are misunderstanding the purpose of this product. I found it easy to install (though time consuming depending on the length of roof you need to do). Luckily I had it up and the next day we had a light snow...cables kept the snow melted in the prescribed pattern so hopefully no ice dams through this winter! My only advice is to measure carefully...I had to make some pretty tall Vs on my roof and so I had JUST enough cable. Plugged it into a heavy duty outdoor extension cord and then into an outlet in my garage. I only plug it in when the forecast says snow.

Pratique
Je me suis servie du câble pour faire des blocs de glace dans mon entrée et faire un canal pour diriger l'eau vers le fossé. Pas besoin d' hache et d'huile à bras.

Works but clips are hard to install
Product was of good quality but the shingle clips are very flimsy and are difficult to install on the roof. I ended up using players to install them but it does the job in leu of revenging the attic
