This item should include both latch and gasket. I received package which only had latch, no gasket. The latch is good, the price is reasonable. I don't know why there was no gasket in my package.

Looks complicated but VERY simple to install.

I only needed a new latch . . . not the door gasket Simple fix: FIRST . . . flip off the breaker powering the dishwasher and check twice! Use a Phillips screwdriver to take out six or eight screws around the top of the door and pull the cover apart from the door. Don't let it just drop, but hold it gently while the wires extend. Then unscrew two Phillips screws holding the handle in. Remove the four (4) wires that plug into the door latch . . . to be safe, mark each wire connector with a marking pen (RT = Right Top, LT = Left Top, and then two from the bottom RB and LB). The new handle and the positions of its wires may vary a little from model to model in spacing, but there only should be four, with two each above and below. Push the handle lightly back in and screw in the two screws to snug it in. Then screw in all the other screws around the edge of the door. Oh . . . and don't forget to flip the circuit breaker back on!!

Frigidaire Latch Kit

I was very happy with the new latch. The construction is much sturdier than the original. The installation was very easy with only the removal of 9 screws. With the help of a cordless screw driver, it took only a few minutes. Found out after running the dishwasher for the first time after that you do have to replace the gasket. The dishwasher was louder with sound escaping from the top of the door. Also, the door seemed a little loose with the new latch. After replacing the gasket, the door was much tighter and the sound coming from it while running the dishwasher went away. Only wish the latch handle came in the color of the original, instead of black.

Fix it your self

I decided to spend the money and attempt to fix my dishwasher myself. Amazon was the best priced for this part. Part has been installed for a couple months and the dishwasher has been working like a champ. I'll try again, if the need arises.
