Not the usual fit for Husky

Does not come with the factory seam like the pleated shorts do. The overall size (fit) not comparable with the pleated shorts - these are smaller - however length is same as expected.

Comfortable

My son loves wearing anything with a stretchy waistband, but is required to wear a belt as part of his school uniform. So, when I find these, he was pretty happy. The only thing is the length, they're longer than I would like (a couple inches passed the knee). We got them hemmed, so easy fix..

Size 10 husky

This brand has always had quality clothes for a great price. I would recommend trying before buying. I thought a 10 would be too small and went with the 10 husky, they fit well. The shorts have belt loops so they can be tightened. I could have gone with the regular 10, but they will grow into them throughout the year.

Repeat buyer: Try husky instead of next size up

We have bought the regular sizes for 4 school years now. My 7 year old is 4'7" 84lbs - he's heavy and tall for his age, but still an athletic build (not chunky). His size 10 regular shorts were looking skin tight. He was struggling to get them up and down and there was not much room in the seat area anymore, but the length was perfect. We tried the 12 regular, but they are too long, they just do not look right. We decided to buy 10 husky; so glad we did. They are perfect. 10 regular and 10 husky are the same length (perfect for us) but the husky gave him around another 2 inches or so in stretch around the waist, plus much more room in the seat area. He is able to sit and bend over to tie his shoes with ease. The husky looks great too. After researching regular vs husky sizes, you'll see each size up generously increases in length. Keep that in mind when deciding between regular/husky/sizing up. I hope this helps some of you with choosing a size!

Perfect for the Picky kid with strict dress code

My 10 year old brother is on the chubby side and also pretty sensitive about being comfortable in his clothes, he also is not fond of buttons and zippers. That being said he also goes to a catholic school with a somewhat strict dress code which requires shirts be tucked in and belts be worn so we were on the look out for a pretty specific product. Anyway after much trial and error we finally found these and these are absolutely perfect! They fit every single criteria we were looking for and best of all he loves them! When they first arrived I was a little weary about how well they would hold up because they are a bit on the thin side (they are also very soft!), but these have held up really well! Because the weather usually turns chilly pretty soon into the school year we only purchased him one pair, well turns out this year has been unseasonably warm and these have gotten a lot of use and MANY washings. They are still going strong and I don't do anything special to protect them other than flip them inside out. They have a faux button and belt loops( belt fits well with them) so your child is comfortable/doesn't have to fumble with buttons, but they are still up to the dress code. Perfect! Will definitely be getting these next year!

Great shorts but very disappointed

The shorts I received had some kid's name written in ink on the inside. They have probably been used and returned. Obviously, I thought I was buying (and paying for) NEW clothing.
