Wonderful glove for a 3-5 year old!

When our little guy turned 3, he started showing an interest in baseball. My husband and I are both big baseball fans, and his older sister already has a glove, a bat and a tee. We were excited when he wanted to join in the family fun! However, because he's 3, I wasn't quite ready to shell out any serious money on supplies. Not only would he outgrow things quickly, but his interests change quite frequently. Because of this, we decided to go with this inexpensive Franklin glove. It ended up being such a great deal and such a great purchase! This set comes with a glove and a soft baseball sized ball. It's a little softer than a standard tee ball ball. It's great for a kiddo who's just learning to throw and play catch. Even if they did get a little bonk, the softness makes it much more tolerable than a normal baseball. Another selling point for us personally was the red, white and blue. Those happen to be my son's 3 fav colors (so patriotic!). The colors are true to the picture. And as a bonus, it was super easy to find his glove in a pile of gloves at tee ball practice!! I'd highly recommend this glove for a beginning ball player. It's a perfect size for his 3 year old body, and I think he'll get a couple of years of use out of it. It's already soft and 'broken in'. The ball is a complete bonus. If you're considering this, I recommend the purchase!

Great for a beginner

Bought for a great grandson in an effort for him to enjoy outside sports. He was excited, for about 5 minutes then wanted to go inside with air conditioning and an iPad. No criticism of the ball and glove, they are perfect for ages 5-6.

Buy two of them.

Really, they should package this set with two mitts, not one. Why get the kids one mitt, how are you going to play with them. If they invite a friend over or the cousins drop by, have two mitts so you can send them outside to play.. Great time killer for them, ... one is the loneliest number. You will hate yourself if you only get one. 4 stars because the ad for this should explain to us brain dead, that when you are a buying a beginner set, you should get a set for another kid to play with your little munchkin. Oh yeah I thought the quality was great for a first to teach your kids and neighbors how to begin.

The leather is a tad softer than I would of wanted, but means it is ready to go outta the box and toddler friendly. I believe the durability of this glove & ball will deplete significantly with daily use, but it is reasonably priced and you’ll get your monies worth. My son is only 3yo, so his hand is a bit smaller than what the glove is sized. (Hoping it will last until his hand grows into it).

Both boys love the glove

I bought this glove for my 3 and 4 year old. Both boys love the glove. It fits the 4 year old perfectly. My only complaint is that I received two different gloves. One has red fingers and blue webbing while the other has blue fingers and red webbing. I know this is minor but the kids see it as a huge difference.

Will work when it fits

Bought this a bit prematurely for my at the time 2 year old... He's 3 now and it still doesn't really fit his hand, and he has long fingers! I will say that I have put it on and was surprise at how "worn in" it feels already, which is a problem with small leather gloves. I can totally envision my boy using this and not having that frustration. The ball is nice too, firm but not solid, so it'll bounce off windows... trust me we have spontaneously tested it!

Great for little beginners

My son loves his ball and mitt. He loves throwing it and trying to catch it. He's only 20 months old so it was hard to find one that would fit his little hand. He was obsessed with an older child's at daycare so I wanted to get him one of his own and is working out great. Fun colours, good sizing, soft ball.
