A usual, Fluidmaster's quality is evident
Well built and relatively easy to install. I've replaced many flapper over the years - usually Fluidmaster products. Readily available, reasonably priced. What's not to like?

Package has changed, but it's still the same flapper
The website description says, "Best for toilets pre-1994, flush volumes of 3.5-7 gallons per flush," but the package says, "Best for 3.5 GPF Toilets" This flapper used to be called "Bull's Eye Super Flapper," which is what the online description said, but the package is now labeled Universal Longer Lasting Chlorine-Resistant Flapper. The number is still 501. My toilet is older and higher (5-7) GPF; I have successfully used the Bull's Eye flapper in the past. I was able to confirm with the company that this 501 flapper is the same one they used to call the Bull's Eye flapper, and that it will work for my toilet (they said the 500 and the 504 would also work). Note there is a chart on the back of the package showing different attributes for the 500-504 flapper models. I originally misread the chart and thought all the info applied to the product in the package, which was confusing, as the last line was talking about newer, low-flow toilets, but that didn't apply to the flapper that I bought. FWIW, I replaced this flapper in 2005 and 2011, and am now replacing it again in 2022, so the last one lasted 11 years. I replace them when they start to leak (toilet refilling by itself periodically).

Works Well
It works well and is very easy to install. My toilet wouldn’t stop running until I replaced my flapper with this Fluidmaster one.

Works great, the solid arms are what stopped the leaking
Our toilet had been leaking on and off for quite a while, even after I replaced the toilet flapper. I really didn't want to have to take off the entire toilet tank and replacing that connection so in a last ditch effort to avoid doing that I bought this flapper than has solid plastic arms. The previous flapper was all one piece so it had flexible rubber arms. I figured it was worth spending $3.86 to find out if the leak really was due to the flapper, and thankfully that did seem to be the case because we haven't had a single leak since I put this thing in. And I would know because I work from home and my office is right next to the bathroom so I can always hear when the water is going. This was really easy to put on, just like our other one. The clips on either side of the arms snap onto the little posts on the side of the fill tube and the chain attached to the flush arm. We had to make the chain a little shorter but that was easy as well, just take the metal clip off and put it on a lower rung. The chain is plastic and floats so you don't have to worry too much about it getting caught under the flapper. To anyone looking to replace their toilet flapper, definitely get one with solid arms. I got that flexible-arm one because it was cheap, but it actually turned out to be more expensive due to all the wasted water literally going down the toilet. Take it from me, don't cheap out. If you're lucky enough to be able to wait and order this from Amazon as an add-on item, then great, but if you have to go into the store and buy it then spend the extra money and get it, don't go for the $2 cheap one. I really hope my review has been helpful and would appreciate any feedback you have as I'm always striving to improve, so please leave me a comment if you think I got something wrong or missed covering something that you wanted to know. Fit my old toilet
Have an old toilet. The flapper went bad and was leaking. This was easy to install and is a good fit.

Must use this sturdy flapper if you have an old toilet
If you have an old toilet that has more water in the tank, you have to use this sturdy flapper. The new flimsy flappers cannot withstand the water pressure of the water in the tank and will leak. I've given away all my other floppy flappers and will only use these in my vintage toilets.

Great Valve For Older Toilets!
I have an old pink 1956 American Standard toilet, and just can't part with it. Not long ago I spent the big bucks and purchased all the correct factory replacement parts, which are all now totally different by the way! The flushing went to crap! lol I got fed up with double flushing, and ran across this flapper valve. The expensive American Standard stuff was a joke! This thing works perfectly! I learned two things along the way. One, make sure to get the correct valve. And two, when you change flush/flapper valves whatever style you use, you want to check to make sure your not overfilling the bowl and wasting water!! You want the tank, and the bowl to fill up to the proper level at the same time. Mine wasn't, I was WAY overfilling the bowl! Its hard to notice this because once the bowl reaches the proper level, the rest just keeps going down the drain until the tank gets full. I used this one, also by Fluidmaster (215 Water Saving Roller Clamp with Refill Tube). I tried to insert the link, but it wouldn't let me because Amazon doesn't sell it.

This flapper was easy to install and stopped my toilet from running. It's a nice shade of red, so if you're the kind of person who spends a lot of time looking at the inside of their toilet tank, you'll be pleased.
