Works great
This 5mm size is great, and I specifically wanted it to support a project for installing shelves in a small closet. I was using another bit to drill the holes for shelf pins (angle shelf supports), but some needed additional effort to large enough for the shelf pin. This bit was perfect! I used it in a cordless drill. I would buy this brand again.

Sharp & Accurate
The brad point as well as the cutting surfaces of the 5mm drill bit was outstanding. Drilled through wood like it was butter.

Not made in Austria, it's a cheap Chinese bit
I got the Fisch 12mm twist drill bit with brad. I only had to drill 4 holes in Lexan with this bit, and it did that ok, so I'm decided to keep it until i drilled those holes. If I was doing anything more than that I'd have returned before using it. The bit I received has no brand name on it, and no indication of where it was made. That means it was made in China, and the maker doesn't want to tell us. It's made very poorly, you can see how sloppy the machining is. Fair enough, but the maker (whoever that is) and amazon should be honest with the buyer and not make false claims.

Excellent Value
I'm a landlord remodeling a house and needed to install t-bar pulls on the new cabinets. After years of marking all the holes by hand or making custom jigs out of scrap wood, I finally decided to try buying an adjustable hardware jig. Most of these jigs are designed to use 5mm bits, so I ordered this brad point bit to use with it. I don't need a bunch of metric brad point bits, so being able to purchase a single low-cost high-quality bit to keep with the jig was perfect for me. The bit performed well for the 60 or so holes I had to drill, most in maple and a few in MDF. The bit was straight with a sharp brad point that made it easy to precisely mark the location of the hole using the jig. Holes were clean and round, with no tear out so long as a backer board was used. The bit I received is NOT made in Austria as the listing title currently displays and is not stamped with the Fisch logo. Th packaging is branded as Fisch, being made in China based on their design and specifications. The listing should be corrected, but at my time of purchase this bit was less than $3 with Prime next day shipping. I expected as much. It worked well and the bit that came with my jig was a joke so I am a happy customer.

Use carefully and it will have a very long life.
There is little not to like about this drill, but be warned, it would be very easy to cut yourself on both the flutes and the tip, so take care handling this, and other Brad Point drills of al sizes.

Accurate bit and notes on drilling into 3d prints
I use this bit for bringing 3d print holes to the tolerance needed for my application. It works well in both FDM prints (PETG, PLA, ABS) and SLS prints (PA12). Understand, though, when drilling plastic with a bit this size, the plastic has a tendency to melt and grab. Starting from a low speed can also stall out the drill. It may take a couple of tries to get the drill up to speed but enter the hole accurately. In 3D prints this bit is best used for holes near its own size -- bulk material removal with this bit for 3d printing applications I found to be potentially dangerous. The bit exhibits good performance all things considered, and I can recommend this bit for 3d printing finetuning. Start slow, get the RPMs up, peck down, remember to withdraw to clear swarf and prevent heat buildup.
